Project Type
Island Guesthouse

Location
Great Barrier Reef, Australia

[H3] Lizard Island

The secluded, granite island is part of the Lizard Island National Park, a location which called for environmentally sensitivity. JDA Co. is a leader in flood, fire, and storm-resilient architecture, and aimed to design a home that looked as if it had been “sculpted by the elements”, with highly durable board-formed concrete, with perforated copper blades that act as debris shields, and can withstand the cyclonic winds endemic to the reef. [H3] S.K.I House

Project Type
Residential Home

Location
Wanaka, New Zealand

[H3] S.K.I House

The new dwelling facilitates a new era of family holidays in a much-loved area. With its views to the Buchanan Peaks and Lake Wānaka, the surrounding topography is integral to the experience, and characteristic of the Otago experience. While the town of Wānaka is focused on life outdoors, the site is also located on its urban periphery. This dichotomy informed the architects’ design of a residence that acts as a retreat – an outcome also driven by the area’s extreme climate. View Project

The Science

of Fabric Care

Every fabric is unique, composed of different weaves, structures, and strengths. It is these
attributes that make certain garments cooler to wear, lock in warmth, or move and stretch for
performance.

The best laundry appliances are those that not only provide an excellent clean, but also give
options that help us to care for all fabrics and preserve the qualities that we love in our
garments.

[H2] Laundry For Every Fabric

Garments made from synthetic fibres – such as activewear – that rely on their tensile
strength to hold shape require low temperatures during both the wash and dry cycles.

Many natural fibres such as silks and linens benefit from a slightly damper dry to keep them
from creasing.

Whether natural or synthetic, each category is sensitive to different parts of the washing
process, and has its own needs for the best care.

[H3] Outdoor

High performance and technical fabrics often require special care – longer, more gentle wash
cycles with a greater volume of water to maintain the item’s performance while still
providing an excellent clean. Tumble drying waterproof garments on low heat will improve
water and dirt repellent properties by reactivating the existing waterproofing.

[H3] Delicate Fabrics

For many natural fibres, the tightness of the weave and the natural oils they contain are
what makes them soft, warm and breathable. Our commitment to fabric care is to create the
perfect washing and drying cycles to preserve these qualities.

[H4] Wool

Wool is very durable and generally requires less washing than other fabrics. However,
gentle washing will help retain the garment’s lustre and natural softness, and remove
degrading oils.

[H4] Silk

A lightweight, luxurious fabric with a beautiful drape and lustre, silk is a natural
fibre that has excellent insulating and absorbency properties – making it cool in summer
and warm in winter. Silk is sensitive to heat and therefore requires low wash and dry
temperatures, and is best ironed when damp.

[H3] Activewear

While durable, many synthetic fibres are sensitive to heat and will lose their structure when
exposed to high temperatures.

Elastane and Spandex, are popular fibres used to make gym and yoga wear, with a smooth,
stretchy fit and good shape recovery. The elasticity of these elastane fibres can be
irreversibly compromised by heat, and so are best washed on a delicate or activewear setting
and dried at low temperatures.

[H3] Strength & Comfort

Long, uniform natural fibres make for fabrics that are both durable and comfortable to
wear. This is why cotton and linen are popular choices for everyday wear and bedding. The
right wash and dry cycles ensure cottons remain colourfast and reduce creasing in linens,
for a perfect result every time.

[H4] Cotton

Cotton is the most common of the natural fibre family, being a comfortable, breathable
fabric that is hypoallergenic and does not irritate skin. Strong and abrasion resistant,
cotton fibres can withstand warmer wash temperatures and greater agitation to remove dirt
and odours.

[H4] Linen

Linen is crisper than cotton but similarly breathable and cool. It has long fibres at
variable lengths, which contributes to its strength and longevity. Though it is has more
texture than cotton, it is silky with high lustre, becoming softer and more absorbent
after each wash and tumble dry. Like silk, it is important to remove linen items from the
dryer when slightly damp to reduce wrinkles.

[H3] Denim

Denim has transcended time and context, from workwear to high fashion. It is a sturdy,
durable fabric that can utilise laundering to maintain or alter its appearance.

Being able to handle longer wash times, greater agitation, and higher temperatures enables
the fibres to have a deep clean but will also accelerate fading.

To reduce fading and maintain colour for fashion denim, select a lower wash temperature, wash
and dry separately and turn the denim item inside out.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Architecture, Interior Design & Home Improvement BS: Fisher & Paykel (fisherpaykel.com)

https://fisherpaykel.com 📍 Industry: Architecture, Interior Design & Home Improvement
35 BS / 100

Fisher & Paykel is a high-substance brand that occasionally hides its technical depth behind standard luxury marketing fluff. The site is let down by poor technical SEO (missing schema) and a significant availability gap in its laundry sector. It is one of the few sites in this category where the functional proof actually matches the aesthetic polish.

Implement comprehensive Organization and Product JSON-LD schema to bridge the authority gap. Update the Homepage ‘Shop Now’ CTAs for laundry products to ‘Coming Soon’ to resolve the semantic drift regarding availability. Add a ‘Meet the Designers’ section to provide a human face to the ‘Human-Centred Design’ claim. Fix the broken heading hierarchy on the homepage where navigation items are incorrectly tagged as H2.

The website presents as a high-end appliance manufacturer and retailer, fitting the Home Improvement category through its focus on kitchen and laundry solutions and its integration with architectural projects. The evidence of collaborations with architectural firms like JDA Co. confirms its relevance to professional design and spatial planning.

“The score of 35 is driven by strong Trust and Proof and relatively high Information Density. The score was prevented from being lower primarily by the lack of technical schema and the minor semantic drift regarding product availability in the UK market. Identity and Authority gaps (Pillar 5) contributed 10 points due to the lack of structured data and named experts.”
