[H1] How to re-key your SmartKey Security™ locks?

Prepare your door. Make sure your lock is installed on your door and that your door is all the way open. If you have a deadbolt, make sure it is in the locked potion. If you have a knob or lever, make sure it is in the locked position.
Ensure your door cannot close on its own, or that you have another way to enter you home.
Insert current key. Insert the key that currently operates your lock. Rotate the key 90 degrees clockwise.
Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole. You may feel the tool click inside the lock. Remove the SmarKey tool. Remove the current key.
Insert the new key you wish to use with the lock. Make sure your key is FULLY inserted. The edge of the key touches the indent in the cylinder face. Without pushing or pulling the key, rotate it 180 degrees counter-clockwise. Then rotate they key 180 degrees clockwise. Pull the key to make sure it will NOT come out in this position. Rotate the key 90 degrees counter-clockwise, back to the starting position.
Remove your new key. You have successfully re-keyed your lock.

1. Hold the handleset on the exterior side of the door and make sure the round edge of the spindle faces the door edge.
2. IF IT IS NOT, pull the spindle out and rotate 180 degrees. Note: The spindle is spring loaded and will retract back when released.
3. Press the latch bolt.
4. Insert the spindle through the latch opening, with both round edges facing the door edge.

You can make guesses, but each three consecutive failed attempts will result in the keypad/touchscreen locking out for 60 seconds.If you forgot your user code, there are two options:1. Reset SmartCode to factory settings to clear existing user codes and add new ones. Reference last page of installation guide.

[H1] How can I troubleshoot the Wi-Fi connection of my Halo smart lock?

If your Halo lock is having Wi-Fi connectivity issues, try the below troubleshooting tips.

Halo Select troubleshooting Instructions:

Check your router settings to ensure your home network is broadcasting 2.4GHz frequency and is not hidden.
Check if it is password protected using the WPA2 or WPA3 security protocol.
If your lock is unable to detect any Wi-Fi networks during lock setup (after following steps 1 and 2), please power cycle your lock by removing and replacing the battery pack, then resume setup.
If your home network’s Wi-Fi credentials have changed, for Halo Select you can perform the Wi-Fi reconfiguration from the App.
Go to the Lock Settings in the Kwikset App and select “Wi-Fi Settings”.
Understand the Network Requirements listed in the page and click on “CONTINUE”.
Attention: Clicking on CONTINUE will disconnect the user from the current network temporarily, as the new Wi-Fi network scanning is in place. The lock will still be accessible over BLE.
In the subsequent page all the supported Wi-Fi network names including the recent network that the lock was connected to were listed. The networks are shown in the order of their signal strength.
Choose the desired network and complete the setup.
In case of not connecting to any network, a connection is automatically reinstated to the previous network, after 15mins.

Ensure there is adequate Wi-Fi coverage and signal strength at the location of the lock. If there is not adequate coverage, we recommend a Wi-Fi extender/repeater device be placed between the router and the lock.
Try powering your router and modem off then on again.

Halo Keypad, Halo Touch and Halo Touch Screen Troubleshooting Instructions:
Note: Many variables can have a negative effect on Wi-Fi connection strength, making it difficult to pinpoint a single source of reduced performance.
Wi-Fi Troubleshooting Tips:
Check your router settings to ensure your home network is broadcasting 2.4GHz frequency, is not hidden, and is password protected using the WPA2 security protocol.
If your home network’s Wi-Fi credentials have changed (network name or password) you will need to perform a Network Reset to connect your lock to the new network.
Try powering your router and modem off then on again.
Ensure there is adequate Wi-Fi coverage and signal strength at the location of the lock. If there is not adequate coverage, we recommend a Wi-Fi extender/repeater device be placed between the router and the lock.

Due to out-of-date software on the Qolsys panel, some Alarm.com users may experience communication errors when using the lock remotely via the Alarm.com app or Alarm.com web portal.   Typically, panel software is updated to the latest version during the installation process.  In instances where a panel has not been updated, users could see a number of errors while using the Alarm.com app to control the Kwikset their Home Connect 620 lock.  It is important to note that the communication between the Kwikset Home Connect 620 lock and the Qolsys panel is unaffected.
We recommend upgrading QoIsys panel software to the latest version to ensure full functionality while using Kwikset Home Connect 620 lock with the Alarm.com app.  Please see instructions below.
