All cash donations to the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra are tax-exempted, under sub-section 44 (6) of Income Tax ACT 1967.

Yes. Upon successful completion of your donation, we will email your receipt to the email address you provided.
[H2] Is this donation tax deductible?
The MPO is a tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines. To claim a donation as a deduction on your taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon the successful completion of your donation.

Schools and OrganizationsIn 2023, the MPO has collaborated with schools and high learning institutions which provided a platform to stimulate awareness on classical music and nurture appreciation in music and the arts. Among the institutions are Sekolah Seni Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris and Universiti Malaya.
About 2700 participants witnessed and benefited from the activities such as lecture-demonstrations, intensive trainings, masterclasses, workshops and chamber concerts with the MPO musicians and visiting international artists. The programmes is part of the MPO’s continuous corporate social responsibility and you, through your generosity and support, have played a vital role in supporting this initiatives.

What is the dateline submission for the audition?The cutoff date for each audition date is 21 days before the audition date.If I’m applying for the percussion audition, does MPO provide the instruments?Yes, MPO provides all percussion instruments for the audition. You’re only required to bring your drumstick and mallets.I noticed there are 2 different repertoire sets for selected instruments. Which set should I play for the audition?​Kindly refer to the criteria for each category.Can I still apply if I'm not in the age range listed in the criteria?If you fulfil the rest of the criteria, you can apply for the audition, subject to the availability of the instrument. Priority will be given to those within the age limit.How long before I know if I’m selected after the audition?The result will be announced 3-4 weeks after the audition.
