North Carolina lottery players can now participate in a patriotic celebration with the exclusive Celebrate America Raffle, honoring the United States' 250th anniversary with a limited number of commemorative tickets. It's the United States' big 250th year, and that means more chances to celebrate across industries throughout the nation. State lotteries aren't letting that opportunity pass by. At $10 per ticket, players have a chance to win big in one of three different prize tiers in the Celebrate America Raffle, with the number 250 coming up everywhere you look. The first 20 tickets drawn in the raffle will win the top prize of $2,500. The following 250 tickets drawn will win the second-tier $250 prize, and then finally, the final 2,000 tickets drawn will win a $25 prize. In total, the raffle will produce 2,270 winners. Tickets can only be purchased through the North Carolina Lottery's website or mobile app — they will not be available at retailers. Ticket sales began on May 26 and will continue through July 30 or until all 25,000 tickets have been sold. If all tickets are sold, the odds of winning a prize are 1 in 11. All it took for one Michigan woman to leave a store in tears was a quick suggestion and snap decision that made her the winner of a $1 million prize. The anonymous Genesee County resident was already out and about celebrating a special occasion the day of the win. While observing Cinco de Mayo with her friend, her friend proposed an idea that would only add to the fun. "I play lottery games a lot, but I actually wasn't planning on stopping to buy tickets that day," the 39-year-old player told the Michigan Lottery. "I went out with a friend for Cinco de Mayo, and after she suggested we stop to buy tickets, so we did." The pair paid a visit to Liquor Wheel on Clio Road in Flint, where she decided to buy a few $5 "Lucky Stars" scratch-off tickets from the stack. "I bought a few tickets and won $30, so I used my winnings to buy two more," she continued. "I scratched them in the store and ran out to my car crying when I saw I'd won $1 million." Ticket in-hand, she made a trip to Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim her prize, receiving a lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount, the Lottery said in a press release. She plans on using her winnings to buy a new house and car for her parents and will save the rest. "It was unreal!" the winner added. "I'm still trying to process it." The lucky player was the first winner to scoop one of the three available top prizes of $1 million in the $5 "Lucky Stars" game, which launched earlier this month. That leaves two more top prizes in the game, as well as nine out of ten second-tier prizes of $2,500 and 58 out of 61 third-tier prizes of $500. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 3.99. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 418 businesses audited.
Lottery Post has 59.5 points less BS than the average for Casinos, Gambling & Betting.
Casinos, Gambling & Betting BS: Lottery Post (lotterypost.com)
Lottery Post is a high-substance utility that serves its audience through data-rich reporting and verifiable community metrics rather than marketing fluff. It is remarkably free of typical gambling-industry bullshit, providing granular evidence for every claim made. The site functions as a legitimate journalistic entity within the gambling sector.
Integrate Person schema for lead reporter Kate Northrop and other staff to link their journalistic footprint to external authority markers like LinkedIn or MuckRack. Expand the breadcrumb and organizational schema on the homepage to explicitly define the site’s role as a news entity. Although the site has high substance, creating a ‘How We Verify Results’ page would further increase technical transparency. Finally, providing direct links to official lottery press releases for every winner story would provide the ultimate proof path to reduce the commodity fingerprint further.
The content of Lottery Post aligns perfectly with the Casinos, Gambling & Betting industry, specifically serving as a journalistic and community-driven information utility. It confirms its role through real-time reporting of state lottery results, legal proceedings (such as the Gary Grief indictment), and specific winner human-interest stories across the United States.
“The BS Score of 5 indicates a high-integrity environment with minimal fluff. Minor points were deducted in the Trust and Proof pillar for the subjective claim of being a 'powerful tool' and in the Identity and Authority pillar due to the lack of structured Person schema for its journalists. The score was heavily mitigated by the massive density of specific numbers and names found across all four pages.”
