SUB-PAGE (https://jdoyleconstruction.ie/extensions-conversions/) Extensions & Conversions – J Doyle Construction Kerry
[H2] Add Value and Space to your home with an Extension or Conversion.
J Doyle construction is ready to take on any new and exciting possibilities presented to them with potential extensions. We also work closely with both designers and architects to make your dream extension come true.Extensions and conversions are both great options, each with its own pros and cons. Whether you go for an extension or a conversion will depend on what your needs are. It is of great importance to do your research before you pick which one suits you more. Below is further information to help you decide which one you may go for.Building Extensions
[H2] Extend your home
Is your family growing up? Need some extra space? Don’t know where to store everything? Would you like to relax more easily? All of these questions may lead you to want to push the walls of our house or even to change your house completely…But have you ever thought of having an extension? When you want to expand your home, the first and most important aim is to gain a few square meters of living space. Whether horizontally (by extending the house structure for a new room) or vertically (by building one or more supplementary floors), the expansion of property has several benefits.
[H3] Adding Space
First of all, a house extension means adding extra space to your property. Due to the fact that an extension will require additional space initially, they are only suitable for homes with gardens or outdoor space to extend into. The size of the extension will depend on the space you have available. If you have enough land surrounding your home, then you can add a fully functional room.
[H3] Reinvent and Reorganise
Adding an extension to a house can be an easy and relatively cheap option. It also provides numerous advantages. In fact, not only gaining square footage is an advantage of a house extension, but you can also use a house extension in order to make a room more comfortable and practical by reconsidering and reorganizing your interior. Extending a room or building a new one, is up to you! According to your needs and particularly your wishes, you choose what option suits you the best.
[H3] Increase Resale Value
You can also raise the resale value of your home by increasing the number of square feet in one or many of the key rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room). Based on your desires, we are ready to listen and help you plan and build the extension with the least amount of disruption for you and your daily life to fit into your existing structure and provide the lifestyle features you need. Whether it’s a large comfortable family room or a simple cosy bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, J Doyle Construction will offer you a warm living space that matches your initial requirements. In addition, an extension on an old building can reinforce its character or, on the contrary, give it a contemporary touch. This is an undeniable asset to facilitate the sale of your property.
[H3] Ensure you have Planning Permission
However, there is a small disadvantage of extending a room. This is that planning permission may be needed. It will obviously depend on the size of the extension; for some cases, it will not be required. Most of the time, if it’s more than 40sq m, then you will need to apply for planning permission. Due to this reason, one of the most popular extensions among our clients is a rear extension of fewer than 40sq m as a single or two-storey extension. There are certain restrictions with regards to extensions that you need to be aware of when considering this option. For instance, if you wish to spread the 40 sq m over two floors, then you will need planning permission. It can be a more expensive option, and it will also take longer than a conversion.
[H3] Multi-use
Among all the options considered by our clients, we find various reasons or circumstances for which a client decides to extend their house. The arrival of a baby is one of the most common reasons. Considering an extension allows the couple to build an extra room in order to have their own private space. The installation of an office to improve telecommuting advantages, especially with the crisis of covid that we are facing right now, is also another reason. Or simply to benefit kids with a family room to play and rest. In summary, it’s a brilliant idea to enlarge your home to make more space for your family. No need to move out of your house when you can simply renovate it! J Doyle has all the skills and experience needed to plan and manage these significant projects. It has been proven that J Doyle Construction is one of the 20 most professional house extension companies in the area. Don’t know what kind of extension to build? No problem, we listen to your needs and desires and find the best solution adapted to your needs. Regardless of your decision on your extension project, the result is worthwhile and will leave you genuinely surprised. Remember that investing in real estate is one of the most profitable, and if you sell your property, you will recover up to 75% of its value. Please check out our portfolio of pictures of our previous projects to have an idea of our work, and don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. Name: J Doyle Construction Kerry

GMB: https://g.page/J-Doyle-Construction-Kerry?weIf you don’t have space around your house, conversions are another option to consider. You may want to convert a space you rarely use and change it into a more spacious area in your home.
[H2] Convert a part of your home into invaluable new area
Building Conversions
[H2] Rethink and Convert
You can convert your garage into many different options. Some of these include another bedroom or living space. You may also choose to convert your attic into a spare bedroom or an additional storage area. Some of the advantages of conversion are that there is no need for planning permission. This will also be a cheaper option and takes less time than an extension. It can also optimise the space you already have in your home without having to change the external.
[H3] Options
Converting an attic can add valuable storage or bedroom space, but a side extension could make more sense for the money. Sometimes the quickest and least disruptive option is to convert a garage. A major benefit to choosing this form of conversion is that you don’t need planning for its change in use. In a lot of circumstances, a garage conversion will also give you more space per square metre than converting your attic. The cost of converting either a garage or an attic will depend on if you have to raise the ceiling.
[H3] House type
Some house types are easier to adapt to an attic than others. For an extension to work, the ceilings need to be at least 2.4m high. The area also needs to extend across the attic for at least 2.4m for the space to conform to fire regulations. It can be a lot easier to convert a bungalow attic due to the fact that the ceiling may be higher. With both attic and garage conversions, you lack the flexibility to build the shape and size you want or need.
[H3] Conversion Types
There are many areas of your house which you can convert into new reusable space, converting your garage and attic into new usable rooms is the most popular, and costs a lot less than you may think Name: J Doyle Construction Kerry

[H2] Commercial Building Construction
Commercial buildings are those that are used for commercial purposes. These include warehouses, retail buildings and office buildings, shops bars etc. In urban areas, a commercial building may be made up of both offices and retail. In this case, these buildings are called multi-use as space is allocated to multiple functions. It is important to become aware that local authorities commonly have strict regulations on commercial zoning. If you are considering setting up a business then you should be aware that it must be located in a commercial area.In the fast-paced and ever-changing world of commercial construction, speed, quality and cost make all the difference. That’s why we are builders first, marrying our intimate knowledge of the craft with the latest technology. External work: We added a new treatment unit for the existing school as the old one was outdated. This was followed by preparing the site for a 50m x 30m astroturf pitch. Retrofit Service Company Kerry
[H2] Retrofits
As a society in general, we are increasingly becoming aware of the need to retrofit our homes. To design and create a truly energy-efficient home, we need to understand how the house works as an interrelated and interdependent system. There are different elements in the house than will affect how energy efficient it is. Draughty doors may lead to heat escaping from your home no matter how efficient your heating system is. By installing energy-efficient windows, it can lead to condensation and mold if the house has not proper ventilation.A deep retrofit looks at taking a whole-house approach to saving energy in the home. You may need to consider the overall effect of a combination of the most appropriate energy measures. The aim is to achieve a long term energy-efficient house. A deep retrofit can also be easily understood in considering what it isn’t. Deep retrofits are not an energy upgrade based on one or two energy measures. This is often known as a shallow retrofit. This is where you carry out minimal upgrades. Whereas with a deep retrofit, single measures are not discussed on their own.
[H2] Insulating your attic
Benefits of insulationGrants for attic conversionA Worthy InvestmentBy insulating your attic, you can reduce your heating bills by improving your energy efficiency. It will also help to increase your home comfort levels. Another huge benefit is to help support the climate. This can be done by reducing your own greenhouse gas emissions. You are also entitled to a grant through the SEAI Home Energy Grants programme to help you improve your home insulation.A home loses 20-30%, on average, of its heat through its roof. This is if it is not properly insulated. This loss not only costs you money in higher heating bills, but it also harms the environment by increasing greenhouse gas emissions. The SEAI Home Energy Grants programme was designed to offer grants to help you improve the insulation of your home. This can be done through the rafter insulation or insulation of your attic. Attic insulation is generally the most cost-effective of any energy efficiency upgrade made to a house. You have to consider the potential cost savings that can be achieved on your monthly heating bills. You may have already insulated your roof and find that you may still be losing heat if there is not enough insulation. It may also be damaged or if it is not correctly installed. These are all ways to improve your existing house in a cost-effective manner.Further information on grants are available from SEAI: https://www.seai.ie/publications/Homeowners-Guide-To-Attic-Rafter-InsulationGrants Available There are numerous grants available for changing to renewable sources of energy. For further information on home energy grants please visit SEAI.https://www.seai.ie/grants/home-energy-grants/Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years, and it will pay for itself over and over again in that time – in an uninsulated home a quarter of your heat is lost through the roof. Save that waste and reduce your heating bills now!Did you know that around a third of all the heat lost in an uninsulated home goes through the walls? The heat will always flow from a warm area to a cold one. In winter, the colder it is outside, the faster heat from your home will escape into the surrounding air. Most houses built from the 1990s onwards were built with insulation in the walls to keep the heat in, but if your house is older than that it may not have any wall insulation at all. If this is the case then you’re paying good money to heat the outside air, instead of just heating your home. Luckily most types of wall can be insulated in one way or another

[H2] Some Examples of our New Retrofits
All Projects How much do Retrofits cost?
[H2] How Much Does It Cost when considering a deep retrofit?
The cost of a deep retrofit remains high when compared to a shallow retrofit. The average costs prior to grant funding can range from €35,000 to €75,000. It can sometimes cost even more. Grants of up to 35% may be available from SEAI via SuperHomes. A deep retrofit approach tends to be more attractive in certain circumstances, such as when an older house is undergoing wholesale renovation. It can also be an option when an old inefficient boiler is coming to the end of its life. Sometimes if a house is so poorly performing a shallow retrofit is not a realistic option.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

66 BS / 100

J Doyle Construction presents a classic case of template-dependency where the digital signal is severely diluted by unedited boilerplate content, specifically the absurd claim of being a top provider in Utah. While the local Kerry project references provide a foundation of substance, they are buried under a 66% fluff-to-fact ratio and contradictory temporal claims. It is a business that likely does good work but has a website that effectively admits it uses copy-pasted marketing scripts.

Immediately remove the reference to Utah on the Retrofits page to restore regional credibility. Harmonize the industry experience claims (10, 15, or 20 years) to match the 2016 founding date and the 2026 current system date. Name the specific Award mentioned in the hero section or remove the award-winning claim entirely. Implement LocalBusiness and Project schema to provide a verifiable digital identity for Jeremiah Doyle and the company’s completed works.

The site content strongly aligns with the Construction and Contracting industry in the Kerry/Munster region. It lists specific local project types such as school extensions in Faha and modern developments in Glenbeigh, confirming its regional operational focus.

“The score of 66 is driven primarily by the high Trust and Proof penalty (unsubstantiated award claims and unlinked reviews) and the Semantic Coherence failure regarding the Utah location drift. Information Density also suffered due to the impossible mathematical contradictions regarding company age.”
