Same day deliveries must be received by 1pm GMT, orders received after this time will be delivered the next working day.

[H2] Delivery Days

We deliver flowers from 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Unfortunately we do not deliver on Sundays (except for Mothering Sunday). If an order is received for a Sunday it will be delivered the next working day.

If we are not able to deliver your flowers the flowers will be left in a safe place or with a neighbour. Also, during the current pandemic, we will be adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Derek Kernoghan

From when Derek was a child working with his parents John and Nancy in their Garden centre - which his Mum and Dad managed for over 50 years, where not only did he sell his own grown flowers but he also exhibited in many flower shows all over the UK and Ireland. With great success!

From School, Derek trained as a pastry chef working in hotels and restaurants throughout Northern Ireland. After realising he had a skill for detail and presentation and a great interest in floristry and gardening in 1988, He opened his first florist business (Floral Designs by Derek Kernoghan) as the years past building up a great customer base. In 2008 being awarded Gold and Silver awards from the ‘Dutch Best Florist in Northern Ireland’ competition.

In 2005 he rebranded and dkni THE FLORIST was launched and today we trade from our premises in the lovely village of Whiteabbey on the banks of Belfast lough. Over the years we realised the importance of alongside our Floristry the need to offer more to the customers visiting our shop. So now the shop boasts one of the best ranges of quality gift ware in the area.

2020 will see the launch of our new online ordering website offering easy online ordering to all our local and international customers.
