The CM-6M® is our best-selling gas mask—and for good reason. It was the first respirator we introduced back in 2018 when we launched MIRA Safety® and it’s been a cornerstone of our lineup ever since.
This rugged, general-purpose CBRN mask is built for professional-grade performance in real-world scenarios. It comes standard with an integrated hydration system (including a canteen) and a speech diaphragm for improved communication. It’s also compatible with a wide range of optional accessories—such as the MIRA Safety® microphone, VPU, tear-off visor protectors, and a spectacle kit for prescription eyewear—all sold separately.
The CM-6M® has been widely adopted by CBRN specialists around the world, as well as by law enforcement agencies for riot control. One standout feature is the durability of its visor. Unlike many competitors, the CM-6M®’s visor is highly impact resistant and tested to the EN 168 European standard. We’ve even gone a step further—firing a bean bag round from a Mossberg shotgun at the visor from just 15 feet away. The result? No cracks, no punctures, no failures. (Of course, results may vary depending on the projectile and distance—so try not to get hit.)
Another critical upgrade worth highlighting is the use of tear-off visor protectors. These aren’t just helpful for training—they’re essential in riot conditions. If your visor is hit with paint, debris, or chemical residue, visibility can be instantly compromised. And in high-stress environments like civil unrest, situational awareness is everything. Tear-offs—similar to those used in motocross—allow you to peel away a dirty layer and restore clear vision in seconds.

If the CM-6M® has one limitation, it’s cheek weld. Due to the shape of the visor, achieving a proper cheek weld with a rifle can be challenging. If you’re using optics, we recommend running a riser of at least 2 inches for better alignment and comfort.

[H2] Storage of CM-6M® Tactical Gas Mask
The CM-6M® full face tactical gas mask must be stored in a dark, cool, and dust-free area, free from sudden temperature changes. The storage room should be ventilated regularly. Temperatures may vary between 10 °C and 25 °C with relative humidity up to 65%. Full-face gas masks must not be exposed to radiant heat or sunshine. [H2] HAZ-SUIT®: A Trusted Solution for Serious Hazmat and CBRN Protection
Many protective coveralls are designed for controlled industrial tasks where exposure is predictable and short-term. The HAZ-SUIT® addresses a different need: unpredictable events, extended exposure windows, and the possibility of encountering some of the most dangerous modern threats.
Its puncture-resistant, multi-layer barrier laminate is similar to the materials used in high-end CBRN suits globally. When worn with a PAPR or air-purifying respirator, the HAZ-SUIT® functions as a Level C hazmat suit. When paired with an SCBA, it can be used as part of a Level B ensemble.

[H2] Shelf Life on HAZ-SUIT® Chemical Garments
How long do hazmat-suits last? The HAZ-SUIT® can last up to twenty years. A coverall using the twenty-year-old HAZ-SUIT® fabric was tested against the ASTM F1001 list of twenty-one chemicals with no breakthrough in >480 minutes.
The aged fabric was also tested for its physical properties and still meets manufacturing specifications. Based on this information, MIRA Safety considers the shelf life of its HAZ-SUIT® products to be undetermined.
Chemical suits contain components made from various polymer or rubber materials for which there is no shelf life data available. Therefore, the garments may be used as long as they are deemed safe after a visual inspection and, in the case of vapor protective (Level A) garments, after passing the ASTM F1052 pressure test. It is recommended that suits are downgraded to training use only when they no longer pass visual inspection and/or pressure testing.
It is the wearer's responsibility to ensure that all components, including fabric, valves, visors, gloves, zippers, seams, and suit-to-component interfaces, are in good working condition and provide adequate protection for the conditions and chemicals to be encountered. Any suit that does not pass the visual and/or pressure test should be immediately removed from service.

Roman’s Take on the NBC-77 SOF® Gas Mask Filter
The NBC-77 SOF® is my go-to recommendation for anyone who wants a single filter that truly does it all. What makes it stand out is that it combines three major filtration capabilities: classic CBRN protection, coverage for toxic industrial chemicals, and DIN-rated reactor performance into one cartridge.
Typically, agencies would stock separate filters for CBRN agents, industrial gases, and radioactive iodine compounds like methyl iodide. With the NBC-77 SOF®, you get all of that in one package. It’s rated for all known CBRN agents, covers a very wide range of TICs, and is one of the few consumer-accessible filters that’s actually tested and rated as a Reactor filter, meaning it can filter radioactive methyl iodide gas.
The second big advantage is shelf life. At 20 years, this filter outlasts most competitors by a factor of two or three. Service Life of the NBC-77 SOF® Gas Mask Filter
Breakthrough time of a gas mask filter is tested according to EN 14387+A1 at 70% relative humidity and a flow rate of 30 l/min, which is equivalent to the volume of air per minute used by an average person carrying out medium-heavy work. The approximate lifetime (usage time) of the NBC-77 SOF® filter may, under normal conditions, be estimated by comparing the concentration at the workplace with the minimum Dynamic Adsorption Capacity (DAC) specified for the filter.
