Pick-A-Posy is the oldest local independent florist shop within the Medway towns area in Strood, Rochester, Kent, UK. Dating as far back as the early 1960s. We continue to offer fabulous fresh flower creations to suit every occasion; contemporary or traditional. We specialise in bespoke sympathy designs. Bespoke designs are tailor made by Michelle and her team to reflect your loved ones personality for a funeral.  We are also proud to be the preferred florist for many Undertakers, Local Business and Schools.

We are situated on the corner of Bryant Road and Stanhope Road in Strood, Rochester, Kent - just off from Gun Lane very near to Strood high street.  We deliver all over the Medway towns and a few surrounding areas. Our delivery areas include Allhallows, Chatham, Cliffe, Cliffe Woods, Cuxton, Gillingham, Hempstead, Higham, High Halstow, Hoo, Isle of grain, Lordswood, Rainham, Rochester, Shorne, Snodland, Strood and Stoke.
Our shop is small but it’s a very beautiful and quaint, bursting with lots of vibrant colours and smells absolutely gorgeous. Fresh deliveries of flowers are delivered everyday buying from a wholesaler in London. They buy direct in the Dutch Auctions in the morning and we have those fresh flowers from Holland the very next day. We stock traditional flowers along with the most gorgeous unusual flowers too. Michelle and her team still love to receive new varieties of flowers grown from all around the world.

As well as flowers looking gorgeous and smelling absolutely amazing there are used as means of communication between the sender and Recipient. There is no better way to let someone know how much you love them or just how special they are to you from sending a gift to a funeral tribute. Sending flowers for any occasions is truly a wonderful gift to give.

Sending flowers to a funeral is a visual expression of love, respect, sympathy and grief. It is the very last thing you can do for your loved one, friend or work colleague. For the family to read personal messages and admiring flowers often gives comfort. I know when i lost my Dad over 26 years ago and seeing all the tributes it gave us that comfort to read those messages, to us it showed just how much our dad was loved and so respected.

[H2] Delivering to Funerals:

We will always find out delivery times, Undertakers normally request that the flowers are delivered 2 hours before the funeral time. If a funeral is early in the morning, the undertakers will more than likely request that the flowers be delivered the afternoon before. If this is on a Monday morning then we deliver that morning, we often deliver 7.30 onwards.

Having your tribute delivered direct to the undertakers is preferred by many of the undertakers. We always think it is nicer if they are already loaded upon the hearse and travel with your loved one straight away. We can deliver to a house address too, although always check if this is the family wishes, as some families find this upsetting but then other families request this as they can be laid out in the garden and the family like to read the card messages. We do deliver to Crematoriums but only as a last resort. We will do our upmost to find out who the undertakers are, so that your tribute can travel in the hearse straight away. We have close relations with all of the funeral directors as we have been delivering to many for over 50 years.

If you need to contact us and need a very quick response we highly recommend phoning us on 01634 716154 as we have a very busy shop and work shop, so emails don't get picked up as quick.

Also please be aware of our peak times, as we are unable to respond as quickly as we like too, to emails. Our peak times are:  Valentines Day, Mothers Day and Christmas.

[H1] Flower Delivery Service

We offer Same Day Deliveries when the order is received by 12 that day, orders received after this time will be delivered the next working day. Our delivery starts from £4.50 up to £4.95.

[H2] Requesting a time:

Timed deliveries are never guaranteed unless a member of the Pick-A-Posy team confirms by email confirmation or a phone call. If we confirm a delivery can be done by a certain time by arrangement, then this will be a 100% guaranteed. (PLEASE NOTE: Requested special delivery times are never guaranteed unless arranged otherwise).

Funeral Deliveries take priority over all other weekday deliveries throughout the day. We always aim to deliver 2 hours before the funeral takes place, unless specified differently by the request of the undertaker or the family. We reserve the right that if a funeral is at 9 am, that they may be delivered the day prior. Unless this is a Monday funeral, the delivery time is arranged with the undertaker or family at their request.

We delivery from Monday to Saturday, Unfortunately we are closed Sundays and all bank holidays unless there is an event i.e. Christmas Eve, Mothers Day or Valentines Day. Our opening times for these events will always be displayed in the shop and posted on here our website and social media in due course leading up to these days.
