Industry Context — Common BS Fingerprints in Ecommerce & Online Retail
Generic Claims: best prices online, free shipping on everything, satisfaction guaranteed or your money back, trusted by thousands…
Red Flags: no business address or company registration, manufacturer stock photos as product images, prices dramatically below market with no explanation, no return policy or extremely restrictive terms…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims premium but product pages show dropshipped goods, claims handmade or artisan but product images are manufacturer stock, homepage says ethically sourced but no supply chain information, claims exclusive products but same items found on Amazon and AliExpress…
Proof Expectations: verifiable business registration and address, real product photographs not manufacturer stock images, third-party reviews on independent platforms (Trustpilot, Google), clear return and refund policy with process details…

[H4] FAQ

What type of holster should I get? Check out our Holster Quiz! Answer a few quick questions and we'll recommend a holster model for you. If you need further help, please contact us.
Do you make a holster for my gun? We support over 1,300 unique weapon setups, so chances are high we have something for you. Check out our Holster Finder tool to see. If you need further help, please contact us.
Which guns do you make holsters for? Check out our library of Supported Pistols. If you have more questions or want to get on a waitlist for a particular holster model, please contact us.
Can I use a light-compatible holster without the light attached? No. Our holsters use passive retention, meaning the holster material itself holds your gun. We mold holsters specifically to each unique weapon setup. Without the light attached, there is empty space that affects the security of the passive retention. The light must be attached for proper fitment and retention.
Will your holsters work for multiple slide lengths of the same gun? Yes. Most of our holsters support longer or shorter variants of the same gun unless otherwise noted on the product page. Since our holsters are open-ended, a longer gun can fit in a shorter holster (and vice versa) without affecting fitment or retention—the slide may just protrude slightly from the bottom.
Can I send you a gun to have a custom holster made? We don't do custom holster/carrier work, but if you want to get on a waitlist for future model support, please reach out to our CS team.
Will a Streamlight TLR-8 fit in your TLR-7 holsters?
No. TLR-8 lights (all models) will not fit in any of our TLR-7 holsters. The TLR-8's laser adds considerable bulk to the bottom of the light, causing it to drag on the holster and push the slide into the sight channel.
[IMG: TLR-7 vs TLR-8 holster fitment comparison]
For holsters that accommodate the TLR-8, we recommend Henry Holsters or Legacy Firearms.
Will a SureFire X400 fit in your X300 holsters?
No. X400 lights will not fit in any of our X300 holsters. The X400's laser adds considerable bulk to the bottom of the light, which doesn't work on our holsters that are precision-formed for unique weapon set ups.

Do you make holsters for Olights? We don't make any holsters that work with Olights and have no plans to support them. You might try Legacy Firearms CO, Wolf Hollow Tactical, or JM Custom Kydex. They all make custom Kydex holsters that we like and they may be able to help you. For pistol lights we recommend and support, please check out our pistol lights product category.
Where can I buy T.REX products in person? We have over 50 dealer locations and are continuing to expand. Find a dealer near you by looking at our Dealer Map.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Ecommerce & Online Retail BS: T.REX ARMS (trex-arms.com)

https://trex-arms.com 📍 Industry: Ecommerce & Online Retail
7 BS / 100

T.REX ARMS is an outlier in the ecommerce space, displaying a near-total absence of marketing bullshit. The site prioritizes technical transparency and customer utility over conversion-optimized fluff, even going as far as recommending competitors to solve customer problems. It is a benchmark for substance-heavy digital presence.

Add a descriptive H1 tag to the homepage that incorporates the primary brand mission. Implement comprehensive Organization and Person schema to link founders and authors to the brand identity. Expand the homepage text to include the same level of technical specificity found in the Help Center. Add specific manufacturing location details to verify the made in the USA claim further.

The site fits the Ecommerce category but functions as a direct manufacturer and educator rather than a standard reseller. The content confirms this through technical product support that exceeds typical retail descriptions.

“The score of 7 is driven almost entirely by minor technical schema omissions and a thin homepage character count. From a content perspective, the site is virtually 0 BS, excelling in technical specificity and authentic trust-building.”
