The warranty and sharpening department is open for in-person drop-off service Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Please bring in knives by 4 PM for same-day service.

Please read below for important changes.

You may drop off up to 2 knives for same-day service.
Please wait outside or in your vehicle. We will call you when your knives are ready.
If you drop off 3 or more knives, they will be available for pickup the next business day.
As always, knives must be clean and free of any dirt, oil, food, blood, etc.

[H3] Mail-in warranty and sharpening service

Kai USA requires that all customers complete and submit the Warranty/Service form below before sending in their knives for service. Any shipment we receive without a completed Warranty/Service form or order number will be returned immediately without service. If you experience any problems completing the form, use the Contact Us page to report a website issue and we will be happy to assist you.
Estimated turnaround time for mail-in warranty and sharpening services is 2 weeks.

Please contact our partners at Kershaw Canada (kershawcanada.com) for all warranty, parts, and service requests. With the current state of international customs, this will significantly reduce time and cost all around and eliminate the risk of your knife being held at the border. All ZT customers in Canada will be referred to Kershaw Canada until further notice.
[H2] Warranty & Service Information

Thank you for choosing Zero Tolerance. From this page, you can request warranty evaluation, repair and sharpening service, and free replacement parts as well as premium ZT parts that are available for a small fee.
[H4] Warranty

To ensure you get a lifetime of service from your ZT, our products are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects. In addition to supporting our products with this warranty, we will be happy to repair and sharpen your ZT knife for free when you send it in for warranty service.(If you have a broken ZT blade that is not covered by warranty, please see the information below.)
If you have questions about your warranty or how to take advantage of it, check our FAQs to see whether your question has already been answered. If not, just email our warranty team for more information.
Kai USA can only accept warranty/parts requests for products purchased in the USA or Mexico. If you purchased your product outside of the USA or Mexico, please contact the authorized dealer from whom you originally purchased them to receive warranty service or parts.
[H4] Replacement Parts

To keep your ZT on the job, we are happy to provide a selection of free replacement parts as well as a selection of premium parts for which we charge a small fee. Please click on "Available ZT Replacement Parts" on the right of this page for a complete list. Parts can be sent only to the USA and Mexico. If you are outside of those countries, contact the authorized dealer where you originally purchased your knife. Replacement parts are offered as a courtesy for small repairs. They are not for resale, and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone exploiting this program.
[H4] Blade Replacement

In addition to the replacement parts above, we can also replace a broken ZT blade that is not covered by warranty for just $40 (effective 11/1/21). Please see the FAQs under Warranty Questions for details. To have a blade replaced, just add the $40 fee to your payment when you send in your knife and make a note in the “Reason for Service” box on the form. Not all blades are available at all times. Please note, that replacement blades will not have the original laser markings. Also, personal engravings will not be replaced/re-engraved on blade replacement orders. If there is any issue with your request, the warranty team will contact you.
[H4] Free Sharpening

As a courtesy, we sharpen every knife that is sent to us for service. Unfortunately, we are unable to sharpen serrations but we can still sharpen the plain edge portion of your blade. If a knife has engraving on the edge of the blade, parts of the engraving may be affected during the sharpening process. Additionally, we know that some of you put a special edge on your ZTs. So, if you do NOT want us to sharpen your knife, just make a note in the “Reason for Service” box on the form.

[H2] General Information

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Zero Tolerance knives from Kai USA Ltd. carry a limited warranty for the lifetime of the original owner, except when stated otherwise. We guarantee our knives against manufacturing defects in material and construction and to perform as advertised when properly used and maintained. The Limited Lifetime Warranty is non-transferable and does not extend to normal signs of wear, rust, damage, or breakage due to improper use, improper maintenance, accidents, loss, or theft. This warranty is void on products that have been modified in any way. Any product we determine to be defective will be repaired or replaced solely at our discretion. To receive warranty repair or replacement, the owner must send the product to be evaluated by Kai USA Warranty Services in our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters. In addition to the provisions of this warranty, the owner may also have other rights that can vary by state. The Limited Lifetime Warranty does not apply to the TX Tool, Fire Starter, or Kershaw Oil. No other warranties are implied or expressed other than what is specifically stated here. Kai USA Ltd. reserves the right to determine what constitutes normal wear, improper use/maintenance, and modification.
We reserve the right to make changes to this warranty at our discretion and without notice.

Zero Tolerance knives are intended and sold for legitimate everyday carry, sporting, and/or culinary purposes only. The purchase, use, and ownership of knives are subject to a wide variety of federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Always comply with all laws and regulations in effect in your area. Due to the complexity and constantly changing nature of these laws and regulations, it is the responsibility of the buyer to investigate and comply with the laws and regulations that apply in his or her specific area. You, and not Kai USA Ltd., are solely responsible for any claims resulting from violation of these laws and/or regulations.

Warning!

Knives are extremely sharp tools and should only be used or handled with the utmost care and caution. Any use other than cutting (such as prying or twisting) is considered misuse and abuse—and will void your warranty. Zero Tolerance Knives/Kai USA Ltd. is not responsible for any injuries resulting from misuse or abuse of the product.
Do not use any Zero Tolerance knife as a throwing knife or a stabbing device. Throwing knives and knives developed for stabbing have a distinctly different design and function. Zero Tolerance knives are not intended for throwing or stabbing; they are designed for cutting purposes only.

Aftermarket Parts & Service
Kai USA understands that many users enjoy modifying their knives. However, to ensure we can repair your knife correctly and in a timely manner, please remove any third-party parts and reinstall the factory parts prior to sending your knife for repair or service. If we receive a knife with aftermarket hardware, we will remove the parts and replace them with factory hardware to ensure we can adjust the knife to factory specifications. Kai USA will not be liable for damage or loss of aftermarket parts during the process of servicing your knife, but we will do our best to return the aftermarket parts with your knife. In the event we cannot remove the aftermarket hardware, we will be unable to repair or service the knife. Additionally, if the blade or handles have been modified, we may not be able to restore the knife to its intended factory function.

Replacement Vouchers

There may be cases when your knife has been evaluated and is eligible for warranty service but is not able to be repaired or replaced. This can be true with discontinued models of which we no longer have stock. In such cases, at our discretion, we will offer a voucher for a replacement knife of equal or lesser value, as defined by the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The voucher can only be used through the Kai USA Warranty Department and some exclusions apply. If you prefer to have your original knife returned instead of using the voucher, please call our warranty team toll-free: 1-800-325-2891. We will retain the knife for 30 days from the date the voucher is issued. If you do not call us to let us know by then, the knife will be recycled.

Counterfeit Knives
Counterfeit knives are a huge problem in our industry. If you send a counterfeit ZT in for warranty service, we will not service it and we cannot return it to you. Please help us fight this scourge by purchasing only from authorized Zero Tolerance dealers.

However, many ZTs have premium parts that are more costly to manufacture and we must charge a fee for those replacement parts. Below are the currently available parts for which there is a fee.
