But Roly is very patient and supportive, he listens carefully to your concerns and confusions and is always able to explain and demonstrate his points clearly, all of this was so helpful especially as someone who was very nervous about driving at first. Each lesson was well structured with clear goals and feedback as we worked through the driving syllabus and gained experience and confidence on the road. April 20, 2026Roly is an incredibly patient instructor. I’m a 40 year old. Very nervous driver. I cannot describe how lovely he is. I’ve had a recent diagnosis of autism and ADHD which we were unaware of and I do struggle. I was never scolded, never told off and when something was wrong it was explained with kindness. I had so much fun. Shame we couldn’t listen to our shared music interest on lessons as 90% of the time I felt like I was catching up with a friend I haven’t seen for a week. Learning for me was bitty. I drove I stopped I drove I stopped but I was always made time for. I would absolutely 100% anyone wanting to learning in an automatic, especially if you’re on the spectrum, to learn with Roly. His patience, kindness and familiarity left me feeling so heard. July 15, 2025Being slightly older than your average learner, I was extremely nervous to start driving lessons. I really thought I'd never actually drive and expected to stop lessons after a few, and give up once I realised I wasn't cut out for it. I was recommended Roly by a friend and Im SO happy I took their advice. He made me instantly believe that I could do it, and i knew from the first few lessons that I'd see it through to the end.
He was calm, patient, understanding, funny and kind.
Most of the time it felt like I was sat in the car with a friend! He put me at ease at all times and I never once felt stupid for making a mistake or asking questions..or crying! He totally believed in me and that boosted my confidence and made me believe in myself too.

Bluedrive Driving School Crawley was launched by Roly Annett in 2012.Our driving instructors are patient, experienced, with a good sense of humour and proud to have an above average pass rate.We understand everyone is different and we adjust our teaching to suit our learner drivers. June 3, 2024Can’t recommend Roly enough! I was very anxious learning to drive but Roly was so calming and reassuring. He never pushed me to do anything I wasn’t ready for, gave me encouragement when I needed it and was an all around excellent teacher. I passed my test first time with 0 faults! 100% recommend, thanks Roly ?

May 30, 2024Roly is my driving instructor, and I regret didn’t meet him earlier. He is the best instructor I’ve ever had. Very kind and encouraging when I was driving. Every time when I had a question, he knows the exact point where I was confused with, and he can explain clearly, logically and detailedly to build my understanding. Really enjoyed the time when I was learning. Highly recommend him to be your instructor!!!

I had no access to a car except his. He helped me develop confidence through practicing under picky test standards. I was happily surprised at the end of my test! Do recommend!!

June 3, 2023I recently passed with the help of Roly if I didn’t have Roly as my instructor I wouldn’t have been able to do it he was so understanding calm and patient. I have Autism and Roly was extremely understanding and kind he always took the extra time to make sure I understood the manoeuvres and techniques. I can hand on heart say that without the help of Roly I wouldn’t have my license. He gave me the confidence that I desperately needed after a bad experience with another local driving instructor. May 26, 2023Roly is a fantastic instructor. He is patient and takes time to explain feedback so you understand what to do in the future. I was a bit anxious at first but Roly is easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable. Sometimes I would ask questions that I felt stupid not knowing, but he never made me feel embarrassed. I passed my first time and absolutely owe that to him and how he teaches!

March 27, 2023I wasn’t particularly interested in learning to drive, but Roly made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable to the point where I was genuinely looking forward to each upcoming lesson. He was always calm and explained everything perfectly well, even with any driving errors — we would discuss what happened and why and then move on. I'm quite a confident driver and he was always happy to allow me to challenge myself whilst also throwing in his own challenges.
