For instance, did you know a giraffe is 30 times more likely to be struck by lightning? I guess because they are so tall? Another fact is that Pub Choir is the world’s biggest, best, funniest, hottest music lesson. This fact has been verified by independent* sources (*we paid a guy on Fiverr to say it). An actually true fact is that Pub Choir is an opt-in experience. You don’t HAVE to buy a ticket and you are allowed to rot at home like you always do. But you PROBABLY should come and have a sing with a few thousand strangers. You would DEFINITELY feel better if you did. And hasn’t your sister-in-law been asking for years to go with you? It couldn’t be that bad could it?!? Everybody keeps bloody going on about it, maybe it’s worth a look. Anyway, just think about it. What I’m trying to say is that Pub Choir will be touring across Australia and New Zealand this July/August and Astrid is brewing her greatest ever arrangement, which I can say with some authority, because I am her. The tour is called ‘Just Think About It’. And if you could, that’d be great. You’ll learn one song in 3 part harmony at the show. That’s it, that’s the whole promise! Just think about it! Please come and have a sing! No worries if not! This show is 18+ Please be aware that this event will be filmed & photographed. In conjunction with our inhouse AV partners, Encore Event Technologies, the NCCC was delighted to welcome back the Annual Defence & Industry Conference in 2020, again delivering a highly successful event in a fresh-faced format this year. Here is a brief description of the event itself and how strong relationships, state-of -the-art technology and exemplary venue delivery, were testament to this great success: “The Annual Defence + Industry (D+I) Conference is a key event for Defence and industry engagement, presentations, and contributes to collaboration in the defence and security sector. D+I keeps delegates in control of the conference connecting them with key Defence decision makers through live question and answer sessions. This year as a result of COVID-19 restrictions, the Department elected to conduct D+I as a “virtual” event and live streamed to Defence and industry delegates both nationally and internationally.” View Fullscreen [H2] The Premier Event on the Canberra Business Chamber calendar [H4] Working together with industry partners strengthens the overall outcome of events. The Annual Canberra Business Chamber Gala Dinner is the premier event on the Chamber’s calendar, and for the second year in a row the spectacular event was held in the Royal Theatre, creating an inviting, five star, warm and welcoming atmosphere for each and every guest. The guests were ‘wowed’ as soon as they walked through the door by a stunning chandelier installation hanging from the ceiling, created by our in house AV Company - Encore Event Technologies. Using hundreds of interlinked Scenic Panels in contrasting designs, illuminated with purple lighting the Scenic Panels’ laser cut shapes cast stunning reflections around the venue walls for a truly unique and impactful focal point. The surprises didn’t stop there; the meal was served by a professional team and was fresh and deliciously created by the expert Executive Chef at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC), Nikhil Jain. Using fresh seasonal ingredients is important when creating a menu, as is choosing the matching wine. Thankfully a well-regarded supplier and partner of the NCCC, Shaw Vineyard Estate, had this under control and paired and supplied the wine for the evening which was enjoyed tremendously with the meal. Working together with industry partners strengthens the overall outcome of events at the NCCC, both for local and interstate business representatives. Each team are individually experts at what they deliver and service they provide, however when we work together the outcome is greater than the parts. This was the third year that Encore has delivered the event for the Canberra Business Chamber and Stuart Buchanan, General Manager of Encore ACT was delighted with the result saying, “The team went over and above to deliver on the brief to wow guests. This was the first time we have created a giant chandelier using our beautiful Scenic Panels product. The team continue to come up with unique and beautiful displaying using them in different ways. The clients and guests loved the effect.” “I would like to thank you and the team for a great job last night! I would especially like to congratulate the chef for a fantastic dinner – we received great feedback about how delicious it all was!” said Kate Holland Member Services Manager View Fullscreen [H2] Shhhh... The National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC) was thrilled to host the Friday lunch with an extravagant and decadent menu incorporating two of the largest spaces in the Centre, the Ballroom and the Royal Theatre. Guests mingled in the Ballroom entrance enjoying refreshments and canapes before being welcomed through the exciting curtain reveal where a striking table, splendidly set was waiting. After a short welcome from Stephen Wood, General Manager NCCC, guests were treated to a modern interpretation of the French Classic Coq au vin, created especially for the occasion by award-winning Executive Chef, Nikhil Jain. After enjoying the main course, guests were invited to the Royal Theatre for dessert, where a Rubik cube like dessert delighted the mind and the taste buds. An International Bidding Seminar, hosted at NCCC was a new element in the Top Secret 2018 Program. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Events, Venues & Ticketing BS: National Convention Centre Canberra (www.nccc.com.au)
This is a low-BS infrastructure site that functions as a technical manual for event planners rather than a marketing brochure. It provides the ‘Substance’ of measurements and pricing to back up its ‘Signal’ of being a premier venue. While the social proof is stale and the schema is thin, the forensic density of the facility data makes it highly credible.
Update the awards section to include accolades from 2024-2026 to resolve the stale evidence penalty. Integrate Organization and Person schema to technically verify the GM and Chef, linking to their LinkedIn or professional profiles. Replace the generic ‘A convention centre with a difference’ H2 with a specific value prop heading, such as ‘Canberra’s Only 2,000sqm Pillarless Exhibition Space.’ Add direct links to third-party review platforms (Google, TripAdvisor) to move review_count from Trust Theatre to verified Substance.
The site aligns perfectly with the Events, Venues & Ticketing industry. It provides the required forensic level of detail for event organizers, including capacities, floorplans, and logistical data.
“The score of 32 reflects a site that is high in substance but penalized by stale trust signals and weak structured data. Information Density and Semantic Coherence are the strongest pillars, keeping the score in the 'Low BS' range. Identity and Trust pillars were the primary drivers of the remaining points due to aging case studies and a basic schema graph.”
