Learn More [H3] History of the Event The Twilight 5000 Series began as a small community event in 2018 and has since grown into a globally recognized set of races. Its inception was driven by the desire to bring the running community together and give people the opportunity to run a fast 5K on a fast route with a pacer - just like the pros. Relive the excitement of the 2025 Twilight 5000 races with our results and image libraries. [H6] RESULTS PHOTOS Year 1 in Boston, the race was held on the Charles River with three heats. The local community team wheeled out the course and timed everything by hand. After the first night was filled with PRs, we knew we were on the right track to something much bigger.Year 2 in Boston, we challenged ourselves to think of more ways to elevate the experience of the community runner. We moved the race to the track, brought in music, an emcee, and even more pacers, so no matter your ability, you were set up to run the best 5K of your life.Year 3, we knew we wanted to take this race to more cities, so we introduced the event to NYC and the Twin Cities, the latter of which we were able to team up with our friends at City Running. We saw much of the same energy, grassroots camaraderie, and of course, PRs.Finally in year 4, we truly took the series on the road to as many regions as we could. We aimed for the heart of the event to remain true - that everyone should have a chance to race on the track, to challenge themselves in a welcoming environment, and to celebrate this sport that we cherish. Today, Twilight 5000 hosts 8000 runners globally. [H4] Training Prepare for the Twilight 5000 Series with tailored training plans from Mile2Marathon (M2M). [H4] The Tracksmith Foundation The goal of the Tracksmith Foundation is simple yet ambitious: to give more people the opportunity to participate in track and field. We believe the lessons learned from being part of a track and field team are the lessons that help create a more inclusive society. Track and field is perhaps the most diverse sport in the world. A typical meet has 40 events – including sprints, jumps, throws and distance races – and it encourages athletes of different abilities, backgrounds, religions, races, gender and socioeconomic status to build meaningful relationships in pursuit of a common goal. The combination of representation and camaraderie instills a commitment to acceptance, openness and empathy. Sign up to stay informed regarding the Tracksmith Foundation and our programs. [H6] Donate Contact Us [H6] WHAT'S NEW [H4] Save Track Town Halls During the week of September 15th, we'll be hosting a series of 90 minute interactive workshops on how we can strengthen Track & Field with an emphasis on the impact of the House vs. the NCAA Settlement. We will discuss financial, legal, and media implications among other issues. These sessions will be highly interactive, so come prepared to engage. We will have additional Town Hall opportunities in the future if you are not able to attend. [H6] SIGN UP [H3] Our Story [H3] The Need [H3] Our Work [H3] Foundation Report [H3] Our Programs [H3] Foundation Moves [H4] Our Story No-one has done a better job illuminating the challenges facing the sport today and building resiliency than Russell Dinkins, the Tracksmith Foundation’s Executive Director. In 2020, Dinkins found himself the leader of a movement to save college track programs from elimination. What started with him writing an article decrying Brown’s decision to cut its men’s track program turned into him leading organizational campaigns of students, parents, and alumni that successfully saved collegiate track programs across the country. Tracksmith, impressed with his commitment to protecting the sport, began supporting his work in 2021 at the start of his successful campaign to save Clemson’s track program. While other, larger brands observed what was happening to our sport from the outside, Tracksmith stepped up to support the one person who was successfully stemming the tide of collegiate program cuts during the COVID-era. Now, as the leader of the Foundation, Dinkins continues to support the sport by creating opportunities for athletes and inspiring broader participation through advocacy and assistance. As the foundation grows, so too will its reach and ambition. [H4] The Need Track and field is the most accessible, most diverse, and the most egalitarian sport in the world. In the US, track is the biggest high school sport. Within the collegiate ranks it is the most diverse non-revenue sport and is a significant provider of academic opportunities for Black student-athletes. It is the least expensive and most meritocratic sport, helping thousands of athletes of all backgrounds find a path to college and careers. However, the sport still faces a number of barriers to growth. At the youth level, track and field does not enjoy robust feeder ecosystems, making the sport's future growth comparatively vulnerable. Youth coaches lack resources, training and funding. At the collegiate level, programs across the United States have been threatened with elimination, cutting off pathways not only to further participation in the sport but also eliminating access to higher education. We believe track and field is a powerful provider of opportunity and a driver of social good. Our mission is to protect and bolster the sport so that it can be used as a vehicle to provide as many athletic and educational pathways to young people as possible. [H4] Our Work To achieve our goal of expanding opportunities for school and college-aged young people to participate in track and field, we are focusing on two main pillars: enhancing the experience of youth track and college track advocacy. We center our focus on youth track as it is the foundation of our sport–we are committed to bolstering the ecosystem around youth track. We look to do so not only by expanding opportunities for young people to participate in the sport, but also by enhancing the quality of existing opportunities, providing high-quality track and field experiences to as many communities as possible. We also commit to being a national voice for college track, advocating for its importance in media as well as supporting grassroots efforts to save college track teams that have been threatened with elimination. We look to expand these efforts to fight for policy changes that will help to protect college track in the future. [H6] 2023 [H4] The Foundation Report In 2022, the Tracksmith Foundation set about polling coaches, parents, volunteers and administrators across the US on the state of youth track and field. We wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the issues facing the sport at the grassroots so that we can better direct the Foundation’s support. The main takeaway from our research is that quality coaching is the biggest area of need for youth track and field, and skill-dominant field events are most in need of support. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 2934 businesses audited.
Tracksmith has 18.7 points less BS than the average for Fashion, Apparel & Accessories.
Fashion, Apparel & Accessories BS: Tracksmith (tracksmith.com)
Tracksmith is a high-substance entity that successfully bridges the gap between lifestyle branding and technical athletic utility. Its BS score is kept low by a refusal to use empty power words, though it suffers from a technical identity deficit due to a total lack of structured data implementation.
Implement structured JSON-LD data for the Organization and specific Products (Eliot Ryder) to ground authority. Map Russell Dinkins to a Person schema with sameAs links to his previous work saving track programs to validate ‘expert’ claims. Fix the broken heading hierarchy by ensuring a single H1 per page that matches the meta title. Provide a more granular material sourcing list to move from ‘premium quality’ (generic) to ‘responsibly sourced’ (substance).
The website perfectly aligns with the Fashion, Apparel & Accessories category, specifically targeting the high-performance running sub-sector. The content focuses on technical specifications of footwear (Eliot Ryder) and specialized racing apparel, confirming its industry positioning.
“The score of 26 reflects a low-BS profile. The score was primarily driven by the 'Identity and Authority' pillar (9/15) due to the complete absence of technical schema and inconsistent heading tags, rather than any deceptive marketing language. Information density is excellent, keeping that sub-score in the single digits.”
