Home Our values | What... [H1] What Is Ethical Fashion & What are Our Values? [H3] The Fashion Industry Causes A Great Deal Of Damage To The Environment. Cheap clothes and accessories produced quickly by sweatshop labour (fast fashion), which you can find in most large retail stores, may save you a few dollars, but is extremely expensive to our long-term future and our planet. Large-scale pollution is unsustainable, and so is fast fashion. However, the fashion industry has operated this way since the 1950s, with the rise of the textile industry and the growth of big companies who thirsted for profit above all else. Today, still, large businesses do not prioritise the environment above the shareholder. They continue to pump out their products and turn them into cash as quickly as possible. Such wide-scale damage does not affect just remote people in remote places. Inhumanity and environmental damage affects us all. This is not the price we should pay for a capitalist system. If, until now, you have been an unassuming consumer, you may be surprised if you take a closer look at the labels on garments currently hanging in your closet. There is a 90% chance that any one of those garments has been produced in a third world country, where workers slave away for long hours under unsafe conditions for pitiful wages, without periods of rest or vacation. In many cases these workers, a lot of them women and young children, are subject to harassment or sexual abuse. As the western world has woken up to these conditions and the damage done by fast fashion, large companies have slowly begun to improve this situation, but in many cases these measures do not go far enough. [H2] How Can You Be Ethical? These are our brand values [IMG: ethical-fashion] [H3] [H4] We consider fashion is ethical when the rights of humans and animals are not violated and when the environment is left as undamaged as possible. [H3] Ethical fashion & Velvety complies with all moral standards such as: [H3] [H3] ✓ Sustainability Ecological, economic and social. Focusing on using fewer resources and producing fewer emissions. We only stock products made from sustainable materials. [H3] ✓ Fairly Made Fair-trade certifications offer consumers a tool to reduce poverty through their everyday consumption practices. It offers producers a better deal and commercial terms and promotes fair wages. We only stock products/brands that can offer proof about who/how their items are made. [H3] ✓ Vegan / Cruelty-Free 100% cruelty free products which have been made without the use of any kind of animal leather or derivatives. At Velvety believe that a product or item can't be ethical if it's not vegan. We only stock products that are vegan & cruelty-free. [H3] ✓ Organic Material Raw fibres that grow without human intervention. Organic agriculture excludes the genetic modification of organisms and the use of pesticides, fertilizers, and insecticides during the production stage to reduce the negative impacts of chemicals on the soil, the health of workers and also final consumers. Examples of organic materials in the fashion industry are organic cotton, bamboo fibre and the newer fibre, tencel. We focus on products made from organic/natural fabrics and materials. [H3] ✓ Recycling And Ecological Use Of Resources Recycling, upcycling or simply minimizing the impact of negative energies in the environment, reducing the consumption of water, energy, etc. We focus on products made from recycled/upcycled fabrics and materials. ♡ These are some of the certifications we value the most: PETA APPROVED VEGAN FEAR WEAR FOUNDATION FAIR-TRADE GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD VELVETY focuses on products which have been produced on a low or medium scale following a high ethical standard. At Velvety, we guarantee that each and every one of the products we promote are vegan and ethically made, and all our brands work to provide a sustainable product. Some of our brands even give life to new products from other waste products or the use of organic fibers. We believe in Vegan+Ethical+Sustainable products not only in ethical products. We truly believe that a garment can't be considered ethical if it has been produced using innocent animals to make it. Animals have a voice and we have a commitment: to be their voice. Velvety also aims to have a minimal impact on the environment and ensures that all material used, such as craft paper for our packaging and stationery in our office, is 100% recycled or sourced from sustainable materials and companies. Home Who We Are |... [H1] Velvety, Ethical, Vegan & Sustainable Fashion [H2] About Velvety Velvety was born from a feeling that many of us know deeply:that the world could be kinder, fairer and more conscious — and that we each have a role to play in that change. Created by Lorena Estelle, Velvety began over 7 years ago as a small but meaningful project with a big dream: to bring together beautiful, ethical and vegan fashion for women and men in one place, without compromising on values. What started as a curated online shop soon grew into something much bigger — a community of conscious consumers and responsible brands from all over the world, united by compassion for animals, respect for people and care for the planet. [H2] A New Chapter for 2026 As Velvety grows, so does its purpose. In 2026, the project is evolving into what it was always meant to become:a global marketplace and directory dedicated to vegan, ethical and sustainable brands. Instead of stocking and reselling products, Velvety now focuses on giving ethical brands a voice, visibility and space to grow — while helping conscious consumers discover them with clarity and trust. This change allows Velvety to: Support more brands without encouraging overproduction Reduce waste and unnecessary stock Focus on connection, transparency and impact Build a long-lasting platform for conscious living Velvety is no longer just a shop.It is becoming a meeting point, a movement, and a reference space for those who believe that what we buy should reflect who we are. [H2] Founded With Heart Velvety is founded and run by a neurodivergent woman who finds joy in creating constant change by questioning the status quo of society, which seems to be forgetting about the most important values that keep us together, empathy and respect for each other. Becoming vegan opened Lorena’s eyes to the realities behind the meat industry — and soon after, to the hidden truths of fast fashion. The exploitation, the suffering, the environmental damage. She couldn’t look away. “Once you see the truth, you can’t unsee it.I knew I had to do something — for the animals, for the workers, for the planet, and for the people who wanted to choose better but didn’t know where to start.”— Lorena Velvety was created as a response to that calling. [H2] What Velvety Stands For At Velvety, you will discover thoughtfully curated: Fashion, handbags and accessories Beauty and lifestyle products Home and everyday essentials All shared with one promise: they are cruelty-free, consciously made and aligned with our values. Most brands featured on Velvety are 100% vegan. Some are included because, even if not every product in their range is vegan, they share a deep commitment to ethical production, fair work and sustainability. Transparency always comes first. [H2] Our Values [H3] We want a better world. [H3] We need a better world. We believe in living with intention. We step away from fast fashion, disposable trends and mindless consumption — and move towards what lasts. We honour: What is made with care What respects human hands and animal lives What belongs to the present without harming the future We believe beauty should never come at the cost of suffering. [H2] Ethics Before Everything As a vegan-led platform, Velvety is guided by responsibility. Every product promoted through Velvety must be: Vegan and cruelty-free Ethically produced Made with respect for people and the planet Whenever possible, we highlight certifications such as Fair Trade, PETA-Approved Vegan and eco-conscious materials — because informed choices create real change. [H2] Slow Fashion & Giving Back Velvety proudly supports slow fashion and stands with the #WhoMadeMyClothes movement. Each year, a percentage of our profits is donated to animal sanctuaries across Australia, supporting those who cannot speak for themselves and reminding us why this work matters. [H2] Why Velvety Exists Velvety exists to remind us that values still matter. Compassion can be powerful.Conscious choices create ripple effects.Fashion and lifestyle can be beautiful without being harmful. Velvety is not just a marketplace. It is an invitation to consume less, choose better, and live more gently. [IMG: lorena-estelle-velvety-ethical] [H5]

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 2934 businesses audited.
Velvety has 3.3 points more BS than the average for Fashion, Apparel & Accessories.
Fashion, Apparel & Accessories BS: Velvety (velvety.com.au)
Velvety currently suffers from a ‘Pivot Paradox,’ where its retail-oriented homepage contradicts its directory-focused manifesto. While the ethical intent is visible, the lack of technical proof and supply chain transparency makes it look more like a personal project than a robust marketplace. It is high on sentiment but low on structural evidence.
Immediately align the Homepage H1 and CTAs with the new 2026 directory model to resolve semantic drift. Implement Organization and Person schema to anchor Lorena Estelle’s authority and link to external professional profiles. Add a transparency map or factory list to back ‘Fairly Made’ claims with hard data. Update the blog frequently to prevent the ‘stale content’ credibility penalty.
The content strongly confirms the site’s classification within the ethical and vegan fashion industry through consistent use of industry-specific jargon and brand names. The value proposition is centered entirely on cruelty-free and sustainable apparel, aligning with the metadata and primary signals.
“The score of 48 is driven by Information Density and Semantic Drift. The contradiction between the 'Outlet Shop' legacy and the 'Directory' future creates a score-heavy identity mismatch. Additionally, the complete absence of structured data (Schema) and the low review count relative to the site's age contribute to the moderate BS rating.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Velvety, captured on May 24, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to Velvety: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
Any company can use the insights for free and improve its voice by comparing it to industry clichés or competitors. When a company has updated its content, it can always submit a new audit request, which will be reflected in a new current score.
