Whether you're a seasoned shooter or a complete beginner like I was, this range offers something for everyone.**Staff & Safety:**The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and very focused on safety, which immediately put me at ease. They took the time to explain all the protocols, which made me feel confident handling the firearms. Their patient guidance throughout the session ensured that I stayed safe while having fun.**Facilities:**The range itself was clean, well-organized. Hearing and eye protection were provided, which was a nice touch for those who don't have their own gear.**Shooting Experience:**For my session, I tried both a shotgun and a rifle, and it was an exhilarating experience. Booked online the day before and it was quite reasonably priced.The clay pigeon shooting was definitely my favorite. Great instructors who take safety seriously, stay by you the whole time, and make the experience a blast. Covered from the rain while shooting. The rifling is a nice warm up experience too.The cafe on site is excellent too. It makes for a great place to hang out, grab breakfast or a coffee, and warm up between rounds.

At Courtlough, we are passionate about Shooting Sports and we want to share our passion with you by introducing you to Clay Pigeon Shooting and Rifle Shooting. Whether you are an experienced shooter, or new to the sport, we have something for you!
[H4] Members and licenced clay shooters can avail of various disciplines such as Down the Line, Olympic Trap, Automatic Ball Trap, Skeet, Sporting, Fitasc and Compak Shooting, whilst our Rifle and Pistol members benefit from a number of private members-only rifle and pistol ranges, including a range designed specifically for beginners.
[H4] All shooting layouts are fully covered in and shielded from the weather elements, making it an ideal venue all year round. Our premium shooting facilities also include a well-stocked gun showroom & retail store, and our Clubhouse Bar & Café, The Smokehouse.
[H4] Intermediate shooters, and those looking to improve their aim can choose a private lesson with one of our qualified shooting experts, or you can join our shooting community by becoming a member.

[H3] The Courtlough Team is now accepting Gun Club membership applications for 2026! Our memberships are perfect for enthusiasts of all levels, offering exciting benefits and a place in our community.
[H4] Memberships are for a minimum period of 12 months and run annually from January 1st to December 31st. If joining as a member from June onwards, memberships and insurance will be calculated on a pro-rata basis to include the following year. Subscriptions must be renewed promptly at the end of each membership year. Lapsed subscriptions (of 12 months or more) will be subject to a rejoining fee.

[H2] Clay & Rifle Membership
The initial cost for a Clay/Rifle membership is €430.00, with renewals set at €330.00 each January thereafter.

[H2] Full Membership (Clay/Rifle/Pistol)
The initial cost for a Full (Clay/Rifle/Pistol) Membership is €680.00 with renewals set at €530.00 each January thereafter.

[H2] Joint Membership (2 people)
The initial cost for a Joint Clay/Rifle membership is €730.00, with renewals set at €530.00 each January thereafter. The initial cost for a Joint Full (Clay/Rifle/Pistol) membership is €1230.00, with renewals set at €930.00 each January thereafter. Applicants must live at the same address to qualify for Joint Membership.

[H2] Junior/Student Membership (Clay/Rifle Only)
Available from 14 yrs up to 18yrs of age, or 21 yrs with valid Student ID. The cost for a Junior/Student membership (Clay/Rifle Only) is €205.00 p/a, subject to the above age and/or student enrolment conditions, whereafter your membership status and fees will need to be upgraded to an adult memberships. Junior Members under 18yrs must be accompanied at all times by a licenced and insured shooter.

[H4] Free Competency Course(s) included which provide the necessary certificate to apply for your Firearms Licence. The courses are held regularly and the type of course(s) provided will be determined by the type of membership taken out.
[H4] 2 free Induction lessons for all new members (Clay and Rifle Only).
[H4] Public Liability Insurance included in subscription, provided by Country Sports Ireland.
[H4] Discounted rate on locker rentals for gun storage (€270 p/a for members).
[H4] Reduced rates on clay targets.
[H4] Exclusive usage of rifle range and/or pistol range.
[H4] Reduced rates on private lessons.
[H4] All members must complete a provisional period of in-house training (the requirements of which are determined by the type of membership taken out), to ensure the highest level of safety for all range users.

[H4] Induction lessons and Competency Courses must be booked in advance.
[H4] Discounted rates on Private lessons are Wednesday to Friday only (€40 plus clays and cartridges)
[H4] Club guns will only be available for a new member during their induction training. New members must purchase and license their own firearms. Licensing queries should be directed to your local Garda Station.
[H4] All new (Provisional) members must be complete their Induction Lessons (Clay and Rifle only) and any required Competency Course(s), before they can shoot alone for the first time (subject also to licence approval). They must also conduct themselves satisfactorily on at least 6 occasions within a minimum 3 month period, in order to complete their training and become a Qualified Member.
[H4] Once a Provisional Pistol Member has completed their training period to become a Qualified Member, they must then complete an additional Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course and subsequent training period (including a further 6 visits in the presence of a Recognised RSO) in order to become a Recognised RSO themselves.
[H4] No Member may shoot alone on our Pistol Range, under any circumstance, unless they have either received this accreditation, or are accompanied by a Recognised RSO.
[H4] RSO Courses are subject to an additional fee of €75.

[H4] Application forms can be found below or are available from the main reception desk at Courtlough. All completed forms must have a copy of the applicant’s current Passport or Driver’s License attached to them. Please come in and complete an application in person, or email us at info@courtlough.ie with your completed form, and a copy of your ID. We will then call you for payment.

[H4] Our shooting experience packages are suitable for beginners up to intermediate level, are fully instructor-led and are inclusive of everything you might need. These are often more suitable for complete beginners, as they allow you to get a feel for the sport, before deciding if it is something you would like to take further. [H4] Our private lessons are in-depth and focused on technique, so are generally better suited to those who have already begun their shooting journey and are looking to improve on their current skillset. [H2] Private Shooting Lesson @ €45pp
Our Private Lessons are ideal for the shooter interested in learning the necessary skills to improve and excel in the sport of Clay Pigeon or Rifle Shooting. Upon arrival you will meet your instructor who will perform a gun fit (shotgun only), discuss your shooting requirements and teach you the correct shooting techniques for different targets. Additional costs apply - please see further information tab. (Minimum age - 14yrs)

[H2] Young Guns Lesson @ €40pp
"Young Guns"  lessons are specifically designed  for juniors (suitable from 14 yrs up), to help build their experience and introduce them into the world of Clay Pigeon or Rifle Shooting. They are the perfect introduction for a novice, teaching them all the basic skills required to improve and excel in the sport, as well as instilling the fundamental rules of firearm safety and shooting etiquette. [H2] Further Information & Costs
Private and Young Gun lessons include 1 hour of private tuition.  Gun rental costs an additional €15 if you do not have your own firearm. Ammunition and targets are charged in addition to the lesson fee, wherever applicable. For clay pigeon shooting, this will be 44c per clay (you will generally shoot around 50 targets in a lesson) and ammunition ranges from €9.50 per box of 25 cartridges, upwards, depending on your requirements. For Rifle, targets start at €7 per pack of 100, and ammunition starts from €9 per box of 50 (you will generally shoot around 50-100 targets per lesson).
