People in Washington can now view their WA Cares Fund annual statements online. These statements show your total payroll contributions, your progress toward benefit eligibility, and your participation history in the program.

Washington has five major volcanoes in the Cascade Range: Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams.

Workshops invite public input on kelp gathering and conservation in Puget Sound
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is hosting workshops from May through October to learn more about how people gather and use kelp in Puget Sound. The information shared will help guide future decisions about kelp management, conservation, and harvesting.

Working families tax credit available for tax years 2022-2025
If you qualify for the federal earned income tax credit, you may also qualify for Washington’s working families tax credit. This credit returns part of the sales tax you paid during the year, with benefits of up to $1,330. Applications for the 2025 tax year are due by December 31, 2029.

Washington declares statewide drought due to very low snowpack
Washington has declared a statewide drought because snowpack levels are much lower than normal. Low snowpack can lead to water shortages and affect farms, communities, fish, and wildlife. The declaration allows the state to provide support and resources to help manage limited water supplies.
