Noah first came through the doors as a pupil from Oban High School, taking part in the FA Hospitality programme, where Oban Bay Hotel have been involved for the past few years supporting 5th year Home Economics pupils as they work towards their qualification. The programme gives young people a real insight into the industry, combining classroom learning with hands-on experience and experiencing the pace of a live hotel environment.
Fast forward to today, Noah is now a confident Food & Beverage Assistant, nearing the end of his second year Modern Apprenticeship with @sdc_learn . Over the past two years, he’s grown not just in skills, but in confidence, building strong guest relationships, supporting colleagues on busy shifts and stepping up whenever needed.
Noah’s journey shows how powerful the right support and opportunities can be. By connecting education with real workplace experience, apprenticeships can help people discover their strengths, build careers and feel part of something bigger.
Here’s to Noah and to every apprentice starting their career in hospitality!

Directions to Fonab Castle

Fonab Castle is beautifully situated on the banks of Loch Faskally, near Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands.
By car - For guests arriving by car, take the A9 north from Edinburgh or Glasgow and follow signs to Pitlochry. From there, continue toward Loch Faskally on Foss Road, where you’ll find Fonab Castle.
Parking - Our car park is located at the hotel entrance on a level, tarmac surface. We also have a drop-off point at the front door where our Concierge can assist with unloading luggage.
By train - If you’re traveling by train, Pitlochry Station is a convenient option with regular services from Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness, and it’s only a short taxi ride to our Pitlochry spa hotel.

[H2] How to get to your Ballater hotel

Directions to Balmoral Arms

By car - Travelling from the south on the A93, follow the road to the centre of Ballater and turn right on to Victoria Road. Balmoral Arms sits on the left hand side of the road.
From Aberdeen and the east, follow the A93 into Ballater, driving alongside the River Dee on Tulloch Road.
At the end of Tulloch Road, turn right on to Bridge Street, then take a left turn into Victoria Road, where Balmoral Arms sits on your left.
By train - The nearest railway station is Aberdeen. From there you can take the Stagecoach bus to Ballater. For full information on public transport links to and from the area, visit www.travelinescotland.com.
