SUB-PAGE (http://clarydon.com/manufacturing/flexible-and-flex-rigid-pcb/) Flexible PCB & Flex Rigid Printed Circuit Boards from Clarydon
[H1] Flexible & Flex-Rigid PCB [H2] Flexible Printed Circuits Flexible printed circuits can offer a great solution to connection between rigid PCBs with a reliable and repeatable product. They have so many applications it would be impossible to list them all here. They offer a third dimension to connect between rigid boards or to interface between a board and a remote device, for example a sensor or a speaker microphone as in a mobile phone. They offer a lightweight solution, about half the weight of a rigid or a cable harness, to interconnections. They are robust and can be flexed numerous times without any degradation to the product. In a well designed dynamic situation, the flex can go through millions of cycles, a common example would be on an inkjet printer head. They also have the advantage of absorbing shock so in a small device, for example a phone, they can take an impact without disconnecting the circuits. They are also used to mount LEDs for applications such as down lighters on kitchen benches, outside deck lighting. This would be in a strip form. Safety lights in transport systems, for example planes, trains and boats all utilise LED flexi strip for the emergency exit routes. Although more expensive than a standard PCB, the right design in the right application could save, weight and time in assembly, coupled with the reliability which makes flexible printed circuits a worthwhile consideration. Variations are mainly base and overlay thickness, typically 0.001” to 0.002”, copper thickness, single or double sided plated through hole. Stiffeners and rigidisers are an option which can help in handling during assembly and allows SMDs to be assembled to the product easier. [IMG: Manufacturing Process of a Flexible Printed Circuit Board] Click here to download a PDF of the Flexible Route Printed Circuits [H2] Flexi-rigid Printed Circuits A flex-rigid PCB is a multilayer circuit board sandwiching a flexible in between layers and having connections from rigid to flexible. Flex rigid PCB designs are heavily used in the aeronautical market where space and weight are an absolute premium. It can allow a large amount of components to be interconnected on more than one printed circuit board and then, folded into a smaller package to be slid into instrument cases and others alike. Like using just a flexible to connect rigids, they offer a light weight solution, about half the weight of a rigid or a cable harness, to interconnections but with a permanent aspect that is much less susceptible to vibration and frequency related problems associated with aircraft. All the advantages that are out lined in the flexible write up apply to this product with the additional enhancements above. The process route is complicated and requires a lot of tooling which has a significant impact on cost. However, if it the right product for the application, the reliability and space saving will outweigh the cost. SUB-PAGE (http://clarydon.com/manufacturing/single-double-sided-pcb/) Single & double sided PTH PCBs from Clarydon
[H1] Single & Double Sided PTH PCB [IMG: Single Sided Printed Circuit Board] [H2] Single Sided (Conventional) Circuit Boards Although the single sided PCB is the most basic and the start point of printed circuit technology and indeed, the start point of the invention, it still plays a major role in the industry. The PCB was invented to give a good mechanical base for components and by using printing to produce the tracks allowed repeatability of interconnections in volume. It also means reliability of connections compared to hand wiring and another big benefit is ease of assembly production of an electronic device in volume. In through hole device technology, it does have its limitations in interconnecting large numbers of components as all the tracks are on one side but it is a cheap way of gaining all the above benefits on more simple circuits. Due to surface finishes like Lead free hot air level, Nickel Gold and organic surface protection, single sided boards can used for surface mount devices as well as through hole. Using this technology, although the PCBS are relatively simple, they can still be used in very complex devices. This is quite often apparent on LED technology. [IMG: Manufacturing Process of a Single-sided Printed Circuit Board] Click here to download the Single Sided PCB Process Route. [H2] Double Sided Printed Circuit Boards [IMG: Double sided Printed Circuit Board] The double sided “PTH” (plated through holes) PCB is the universal workhorse of the electronics industry. With increasing complexity and density of components many PCB’s need to use both sides of the Printed Circuit Board. This is more usually supplemented with plated-through-holes where the copper connections go right through the connecting holes to the opposite side of the board. These PTH Connections either form simple electrical connection between both sides of the PCB (Via Holes), or electrical connectivity and mechanical support for leaded components. This makes the double sided PTH PCB a much more physically robust item. SUB-PAGE (http://clarydon.com/manufacturing/metal-backed-pcb/) Metal backed PCBs & Aluminium PCBs for High Power Applications
[H1] Metal backed PCBs for high power LED applications / IMS [IMG: Metal backed PCBs for high power LED applications / IMS] With recent developments in LED technology, a range of high intensity surface mount LEDs has enabled designers from many industries such as traffic signals, concealed lighting, decorative work and many others, to use LEDs where once they may have used conventional bulbs or lamps. While usage of this technology continues to expand, there is a challenge to counter the heat generated by the new components in normal running, especially when grouped closely together. This can cause burning of standard FR4 laminate and therefore a failure of the circuit. A solution to this problem is to use metal backed PCBs which are, in essence, thin PCBs bonded to an aluminium backplate of varying thickness. The result is LED PCB boards where any excess heat generated can easily pass through the FR4 laminate of the circuit board and then dissipate quickly into the aluminium, thus allowing the PCB to have its own large ‘heat sink’ permanently attached. Another facility commonly offered in conjunction with the aluminium backing is the use of black solder resist to allow the heat to be removed by radiation. The use of aluminium backed PCBs or LED PCB boards is of course not limited to high power LEDs and can be of use to any product where heat dissipation is important. The simplest type, and hence most cost effective, metal backed PCBs available are single sided surface mount PCB boards. For more complex circuits, both double sided “plated through holes” (PTH) and multi layer (multilayer) PCBs can also be manufactured using this technique. These require a more complicated manufacturing process for the application of aluminium and also the use of standard multi layer (multilayer) registration techniques. Final profiling of metal backed circuit boards is generally achieved by routing, though on some simpler PCBs guillotining may be acceptable and more cost effective. [IMG: Insulated Metal Substrate (IMS) metal backed PCB Manufacturing Process Route] Click here to download the IMS (Insulated Metal Substrate) Route (PDF) [H2] What can be achieved using metal backed PCBs or LED PCB boards Insulated metal substrate technology utilises the printed circuit board as a key constituent in heat removal from component devices. The thermal efficiency gained by using an aluminium backed board allows downsizing of designs and hardware removal. Electrical insulation between the copper and base metal is achieved using dielectric layers with high thermal conductivity. [H2] The advantages of using metal backed PCBs and LED PCB boards: Power densities can be increased whilst components are kept cool, increasing life and durability. Surface mount technology can remove manual assembly from the traditional heat sink, clip, sil-pad arrangement. Dielectrics can be tailored to suit your thermal or insulation level requirements. The circuits can be shaped, drilled and formed, an advantage when compared to ceramic based products. Cooling properties allow devices to be driven harder or de-rated for lower cost components. If you need any further information about LED PCB boards or IMS (insulated metal substrate) and this developing product range, please do not hesitate to contact our sales team or use the normal enquiry page. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Industrial, Manufacturing & Engineering BS: Clarydon Electronic Services Limited (www.clarydon.com)
Clarydon presents as a legitimate but digitally abandoned workshop; the technical specs suggest real hardware capability, but the 10-year-old news and lack of certification numbers create a ‘ghost ship’ aura. It is a site of substance buried under a decade of dust and unverified industry boilerplate. The BS score is driven primarily by the failure to prove the credentials it shouts most loudly about.
Immediately update the ‘Latest News’ section or remove it to stop the signal of business inactivity. Insert ISO 9001 and UL certificate numbers with direct links to the certifying body’s database to validate quality claims. Convert the ‘Case Studies’ placeholder into at least three detailed examples with named clients and specific outcomes. Add Person schema for the directors to link their professional profiles to the brand identity.
The website perfectly aligns with the Industrial, Manufacturing & Engineering category, specifically focusing on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication and contract electronics manufacturing (CEM). The presence of technical specifications like ‘3 thou trace width’ and ‘6oz copper thickness’ confirms high industry relevance.
“The score of 47 is primarily driven by high Identity and Authority gaps (11/15) and Trust and Proof deficiencies (11/20). While the technical Information Density (11/30) is relatively good for the sector, the presence of extreme temporal staleness (2016 news) and unverified ISO claims prevents a lower BS score. The site avoids the 'Extreme BS' range only because its technical specifications are too granular to be entirely fabricated.”
