There’s something special about unravelling a mystery, checking for clues, and solving puzzles. That good bit of adrenaline rush triggers something rather exciting. London has no shortage of tha! Escape rooms are everywhere nowadays, and it’s a trend that’s here to stay (I’m glad!). And when I thought my mates and I would get bored quickly, we actually didn’t. I could say we’re pros now (fine, we’ve only narrowly escaped some). But it sure is a good way to enjoy the day before heading to the pub. So, grab your deerstalker and head to our favourite London escape rooms! Go ahead and ring your mates to see if you can solve a variety of puzzles and games. Escape the room as a graduate of Witchcraft and Wizardry School (just like Harry Potter, but without powers!), take a gamble at Casino Heist, or escape from the clutches of your sinister leader at The Master’s Cabin. Most escape rooms are available for ages 10 and up (the highest difficulty is typically for 12 and up). You can invite up to 5 of your mates for a better chance at surviving because most games have a 40% chance of escaping and a high level of difficulty. Pro Tip:There’s no wheelchair accessibility yet. But don’t be shy to contact them for updates because they do try to accommodate guests! [H2] Mission: Breakout View this post on Instagram A post shared by MISSION: BREAKOUT – LONDON (@missionbreakoutlondon) Media credit: missionbreakoutlondon Address: 141-145 Kentish Town Rd Contact: 0203 652 8144 Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10 am – 11 pm Website Book Now Mission: Breakout brings a totally immersive experience. It starts its location in a haunted, disused South Kentish Town tube station, which brings out a spooky and engaging atmosphere— it has been said that strange occurrences have happened here. There are 3 escape rooms, with one inspired by the lost passenger in this very same tube station (it doesn’t get more immersive than that!). All games welcome guests aged 9 and above, but 18 years and up can come by during Fright Night for extra scares! The games are available for 3 to 6 players for £28 per person. If you’re in for a celebration, the 3 escape rooms can accommodate up to 18 people at the same time. Pro Tip:If you want to come by for Fright Night, book a Friday visit starting at 7 pm. Remember that minors aren’t allowed this time because of the extra frights that will keep you on your toes! [H2] The Crystal Maze: Live Experience View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Crystal Maze Live | London & Manchester (@thecrystalmaze) Media credit: thecrystalmaze Address: 22 – 32 Shaftesbury Ave Contact: 0161 791 0727 Hours: Monday: Closed Tuesday – Friday: 1 pm – 9 pm Saturday – Sunday:9 am – 9 pm Website Book Now If you’re looking for a truly immersive experience, head over to Piccadilly Circus. The Crystal Maze: Live Experience is based on Channel 4’s hit 90s game show The Crystal Maze, where you’ll solve puzzles, collect crystals, and reach the Crystal Dome! You and your mates will actually be playing the game show, which includes mental, skill, mystery, and physical challenges. This 75-minute experience has a total of 4 sections: industrial, futuristic, mediaeval and Aztec, with reconstructed sets from the TV show! As a family-friendly event, kids as young as 9 can join in. You can bring your parents for some nostalgic fun where they can finally live out their TV moment— sorry, no famous game show host here! Pro Tip:Make sure you’re in good physical health before booking a ticket, especially your parents, if you’re bringing the whole family. You don’t have to be the fittest, but you will have to do physical challenges. Enjoy other movie-based escape games as well, like Alice in Puzzleland! The games are family-friendly (most are PG) and available for 2 to 6 players for people age 8 and up. Some escape rooms have wheelchair access, but it’s best to confirm first before booking. And if you don’t like getting boxed in, the City Hunt will take you on an adventure in the city centre! Pro Tip:For City Hunt gamers, wear your trainers because you’ll be walking for roughly 2 km. It’s not the kind that will scare you out of your mind since it focuses on mental challenges, so there’s no need to worry about spooky games. This London escape room is ideal for small groups (3 to 6 people is recommended) of all ages. But if you want a higher chance of escaping, the recommended age for kids is 12 and up. Pro Tip:Be very thorough when checking out the room— look at every corner. Use your walkie talkie if you get stuck. [H2] clueQuest View this post on Instagram A post shared by clueQuest Ltd. Well, they do, but they make epic, unique adventures for the whole family— yes, kids can join in! There are different kinds of escape rooms, along with seasonal themes for an extra sprinkle of holiday spirit. Expect linear and non-linear setups to keep you on your toes with creatively designed sets and cool use of technology. All escape rooms, including seasonal ones, don’t have scary elements or jump scares. That makes this spot available to all ages— but do note the difficulty levels since some are extra tough to finish. If you prefer the outdoors, the Glitch Hunters game will take you on an epic trip all around Central London. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the sun when it appears once in a while! Pro Tip:Book your escape room during non-peak times to score a cheaper rate. Peak times are priced at £35, while non-busy days are £30. Meanwhile, The Gates of Hell in Purgatory Bar in Victoria is for the pros who are brave enough to escape before demons reach London. Some escape rooms are not for the faint of heart because of spooky challenges and scarers ready to jump out at you! For an outdoor experience, Murder in the Park is a puzzle picnic that includes cocktails and snacks from Purgatory Bar. If it’s gloomy, you can enjoy it inside the bar! Pro Tips:Although the escape room experiences are open to ages 10 and up, it’s better to contact the staff first to see if kids can handle the puzzles and possible scares. The escape rooms are not fully accessible for players with disability. It’s like a trip down memory lane for millennials and a vintage cool experience for Gen Z— TVs used to have knobs on ‘em? Shocking! At this run-down Shlock movie studio, guests who want to escape must be 14 and up and at least one member has to have good eyesight to watch out for clues. Expect music and effects, as well as some shocking surprises. Secret Studio is heaven for expert escape room experts. The challenges are difficult (their stats show that less than 50% escape the rooms), so bring a group of 3 to 6 for a higher chance of surviving! For wheelchair users, the escape rooms can accommodate 1 to 2 at a time. It ultimately depends on the space of the room, though. Pro Tip:If you don’t like jump scares, remember to tell the staff so they can customise this for you. How we review: Location: An office space that's easy to get to is important in a city like London, so we based this on accessibility and if it's near the tube for a quick commute. Bonus points if it has multiple locations in London. Facilities: Not all office spaces are built the same. That's why we looked at how clean the place is and if it's spacious enough to accommodate many people at once without feeling cramped. Atmosphere: We picked office spaces in London that provide a safe and relaxed ambience based on our experience. We add a cheeky bonus point if there's a tonne of light and green spaces. Amenities: For this, we checked the wide variety of perks for a hassle-free workday. Do you get free tea and is there high-speed WiFi? Options: To cater to different kinds of needs for individuals and businesses, we picked coworking spaces that offer a variety of passes, memberships, and rental options. Security: To ensure safety, we inquired how secure the facility is. We looked into the safety measures put in place at night when the staff's not around. Pricing: To get the best value for your money, we selected spaces that actually match the amenities and facilities you'll get. Budget-friendly options are a plus in our books! As writers, my team and I have the privilege of working anywhere we want. And as much as we would like to work from home forever, the situation sometimes requires us to meet face to face. That’s fine, though. Instead of meeting in a boring, plain white room that screams, “You’re stuck in a corporate job forever!” we now have the option of renting office spaces with charming, creative, or relaxed atmospheres that can fuel the imagination! Check out our office hotspots in London and stir up fresh ideas! How Much Do Office Spaces Cost in London? Office spaces in London cost an average of £400 a month. Factors will affect the total price, such as the type of room, membership, and add-ons. Contents show 1. Paddington Works 2. Soho Works – 180 Strand 3. Office Space in Town Monument 4. Paddington Works [IMG: paddington-works-logo] Address: 8 Hermitage St Contact: 0 20 7266 5544, [email protected] Business hours: Monday – Friday: 9 am – 5:30 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Instagram Website When we first visited Paddington Works, we were impressed with the place’s bright and relaxing atmosphere. It’s easy to see why—this sustainable office space has fresh air filtration and time-adaptive lighting. Its features and amenities are also noteworthy. There’s an air purifier, lighting that imitates natural daylight, free tea and coffee, WiFi, and TVs. As for the workspaces, there are plenty of options. We didn’t worry about the lack of space to work in with its private offices, hot desks, and production rooms (ideal for podcasters!). On the downside, they only have one branch. The silver lining? It’s in an accessible location in Paddington Basin. Adding to the convenience are its platform lifts, adjustable height desks, acoustic dampeners, and accessible toilets. Price-wise, they’re within the usual range in London. It’s just a bummer that there are no weekend day passes, although it’s great that members get 24-hour access! Pros Sustainable space Circadian lighting Plenty of room options 24/7 member access Accessible features Cons No weekend day passes Only one office space Edgy, fresh with great amenities “Paddington Works is a fantastic space. Edgy, fresh with great amenities. We booked the main room initially and have since booked the meeting rooms. It was easy to organise, the staff were really attentive and it’s in a fantastic location near Paddington and food vendors. Recommend.” -Rebecca Hollis, Google Review Issues were dealt with quickly “I would highly recommend hosting events at Paddington works. We recently had a tasting session event which ran seamlessly! We had excellent service and support from Aneta and the team, any minor issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The auditorium is a phenomenal space for events and the wider space is also great for networking. I will definitely be returning in the future to host events there :)” -Meena Sadasivan, Google Review [H2] 2. Soho Works – 180 Strand [IMG: soho-works-180-strand-logo] Address: 180 Strand, Temple Contact: 0 20 3985 0000 Business hours: Monday – Friday: 7 am – 1 pm Saturday – Sunday: 11 am – 6 pm Instagram Website Soho Works 180 Strand is a 2-level office space in London for creatives and professionals. The best part is you don’t have to be a Soho House member to get in! It’s very accessible for Londoners (it has 4 offices). Temple Station is only a 2-minute walk away, and this is one of the office spaces in London where we can work evenings and weekends. The atmosphere and amenities don’t disappoint. It has a contemporary design with open workspaces and a catering service for company meetings—don’t forget it’s dog-friendly! The facilities are also worth noting. There’s a kitchen with chef’s table-style seating, a dining room for meetings, and meeting rooms with lounge areas. Although it’s open daily, you still need an off-peak membership to get in after hours. But for wanderers like us, we like the options because we can visit other office spaces in North America. Pros Available to Soho House non-members Accessible location Dog-friendly Apartment-like amenities Open on evenings and weekends Cons 24/7 access requires off-peak membership Pleasurable experience all around “This place is absolutely amazing. Security., very helpful I misplayed my bag and they returned it . Very easy to get around. And just a Pleasurable experience all around…” -Stewart Harvey-Wilson, Google Review So attentive and friendly “The floor team at 180 Lofts and 180 Soho Works are 10/10. So attentive and friendly, such a pleasure to be greeted by them every morning. Lofts spaces are ideal for meeting room hire and 180 Soho Works is a central city space full of creatives. My team and I wouldnt be anywhere else.” -Jessica M, Google Review [H2] 3. Office Space in Town Monument [IMG: office-space-town-monument-logo] Address: 20 St Dunstan’s Hill Contact: 0844 412 1796, [email protected] Business hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Instagram Website Office Space in Town Monument stands out because of its elegant space where style meets functionality. It even overlooks London Bridge and the Thames, which aren’t bad to look at while at work! The location isn’t bad either. It’s a short distance from various tube stations, such as Monument, Tower Hill, and London Bridge. It’s a plus there are 4 other office spaces in London. Comfort is a priority here, with ergonomic chairs and standing desks. We also like the kitchen and eating space, shower facilities, bike storage, a cafe, and individually controlled air conditioning for each office. There are lots of meeting rooms for small to large groups. The thing is, this isn’t ideal for freelancers since there are no hot desks and it’s not open on weekends. But we want to highlight The Cabins for business travellers. These are luxury serviced bedrooms where you can spend the night after late meetings. Pros Overlooks the Thames and London Bridge Short distance from tube stations 4 other office spaces in London Lots of comfort amenities Small to large meeting rooms Cons Not ideal for freelancers Not open on weekends Teams were highly attentive “We hosted an external event in one of the meeting rooms followed by networking drinks in their bar area and balcony. All of the teams were highly attentive, everything went to plan and the bar team were really lovely. It was a fantastic location and also great views from their roof top bar along the river. Thank you to all of the team at OSiT!” -Amy Davies, Google Review Fantastic and professional service “Fantastic and professional Service. We rent an office in Monument Office Space in Town, the team there is attentive and professional and no task is ever too much for them. Jessica Noble I can say personally is a delight to work with and makes my role very easy. Highly recommend them for meeting rooms and office space!” -Emily Webster, Google Review [H2] 4. Work.Life Old Street [IMG: work-life-old-street-logo] Address: 82 Great Eastern St Contact: [email protected] Business hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Instagram Website There’s something special about Work.Life Old Street in East London. We noticed our staff always has a productive day here— we think it’s because of the natural daylight, large windows, and ergonomic chairs. This office space doesn’t skimp out on amenities. There’s bike storage, showers, a fully-equipped kitchen, private phone booths, fast WiFi, and an endless supply of tea, of course! Their private meeting rooms, which are fully serviced, are a real highlight. You can even customise the furnishings and branding for your business. Unfortunately, the basic membership doesn’t give you weekend access (you can visit all locations, though). But the perks are quite the same as the higher tier. Now, getting here isn’t tough since we’re used to commuting. The Northern Line and the Metropolitan Line are close by, and there are other branches if you don’t live in the east. Pros Ergonomic chairs Lots of amenities Fully serviced office rooms Customisable furnishings and branding Tube stations are nearby Offices in other London areas Cons No weekend access for basic members Great varied work spaces to suit your style “One of the best Co-working spaces in London and further more it’s a B-Corp. And, the location doesn’t disappoint! The Borough Market office is actually the largest out of all locations, complete with stunning London views. With a roof terrace, cafe, and lounge area, there’s always a place to unwind when stressed. Overall, we were impressed with the amenities. It has bike storage, showers, stocked fridges, printing, a cleaning service, and cake on Wednesdays! What makes this a must-try is the cool add-ons. You can customise the already fully furnished office rooms—add a fridge, branding, and even a foosball table! We slightly don’t mind that it’s closed on weekends since dogs are welcome. It’s a cool way to lighten up the day! It is a bit pricey, with a 5-person private office costing about £620 per desk. But with the amenities, you get your money’s worth! Pros Largest out of all locations Rooftop terrace with London views Plenty of amenities Cake on Wednesdays Dog-friendly space Add-ons for office rooms Cons Closed on weekends A bit pricey Workplace full of colours, light, creative ideas & innovations “Runway East is a great workplace full of colours, light, creative ideas & innovations. The rates are really affordable despite having a prestigious Mayfair office address—what a way to leave a strong impression! Basically, the cheapest package is the VO Collect, which costs only £20 a month. The highest tier is still affordable at £45 a month since it already has lots of inclusions, like mail collection and scan to email services. And if you find a cheaper Mayfair virtual office that has the same services, they’ll match that price! When our staff hired them, there were no setup fees too! However, we noticed that their range of services is pretty limited compared to other virtual offices in London we used. But the basic services are already there. They even have a phone answering service, where a virtual receptionist will answer your calls using your company name. Very professional! Pros Affordable solutions Prestigious address Low price matching No setup fees Cons Limited range of services Top quality everything “Everyone at W1, are super nice and signing up with them, is as easy and smooth as can be. Mark and Taj are the ones, I have I have been dealing with, and they are very nice pleasant and helpful. I am sure, the rest of the team are so too. I can most definitely, recommend them to anyone! Top quality everything! Karina Karabina” -Karina Karabina, Google Review Top-notch, professional, and reliable “W1 Virtual Office is simply the best. Their services are top-notch, professional, and reliable. Mark and the entire team are incredibly friendly and always go above and beyond to help with everything. Highly recommended!” -Adrian Binisan, Google Review [H3] 2. Cheap Virtual Office [IMG: cheap-virtual-office] Address: Gemma House, 39 Lilestone St Contact: Online contact form Business hours: Monday – Friday: 9 am – 5 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Website Cheap Virtual Office stays true to their name. Their rates are super affordable, perfect for freelancers and small businesses. The most affordable package is only £49.99 per year and the premier plan is only £99.99 a year. The highest plan includes 30 business letters that can be forwarded to you, but there’s an additional fee if you want the scan service. They’re minutes away from Baker Street Station, which makes them very accessible. And since they’re in Central London, mail forwarding is a breeze! Their services are limited to virtual offices, though. Should you need to expand your business, you’ll need to hire other office rooms in London for face-to-face meetings. But being a virtual office provider is their strength and communicating with them has been smooth. We’ve never experienced problems or delays in our interactions with them, which is why we think they’re worth it even with the limited services. Pros Ideal for freelancers and small businesses Budget-friendly option Located in Central London Fast communication Cons Limited services (no office rooms) Additional fee for scan service Extremely helpful “I have been using this company for couple of years now. They have always been extremely helpful, very responsive to emails and always going above and beyond to help. Their pricing is very competitive and the service is great.” -Desi Petrova, Google Review Great value for money “We have been using the services of Cheap Virtual Office for almost a year now and are very happy with them. Everything happens quickly, professionally and with no hassle. Communication with their support center is prompt, effective and helpful. Great value for money!” -Sonya Dineva, Google Review [H3] 3. Impact Brixton [IMG: impact-brixton] Address: 17a Electric Lane Contact: 07494 445 324, [email protected] Business hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 6 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Instagram Website What we love about Impact Brixton is they’re a one-stop destination for remote workers and businesses in London. Aside from being a virtual office, they’re also a coworking space for meetings. We found their services ideal for individuals with international customers. You can use their address on your website and for Companies House, which is needed if you’re forming an LLP. Plus, the inclusions are pretty good. All packages include post scanning and digital forwarding, while the highest package includes mail forwarding, so you get both physical and digital copies. On top of that, they accept parcels, which isn’t a typical service. You can’t pick up your parcel on weekends, though, since they’re closed. Still, the cost-effective solutions are worth noting! The premium package is £325 a year, which is only £27 a month! Pros Coworking space Lots of inclusions Accepts parcels Competitive prices Cons No parcel pickup on weekends Space and team at Impact Brixton are exceptional “The space and team at Impact Brixton are exceptional. I strongly recommend this virtual office in London to all entrepreneurs for their business needs in the future.” -Gordon Williams, Google Review Really recommend “Impact Brixton’s ethos aligns with our own and we massively appreciate being able to use the services of Impact Brixton as a small, purpose driven community business. Really recommend if you are looking for a different kind of co-working / virtual office space!” -T A P E Collective, Google Review [H3] 4. Capital Office [IMG: capital-office] Address: Fergusson House, 124-128 City Rd Contact: +44 (0) 207 566 3939, [email protected] Business hours: Monday – Friday: 9 am – 5 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Website If experience is what you’re looking for, Capital Office is worth checking out. Their history of helping companies started in the 1970s, which is really impressive because there were no computers back then! Their services are also pretty comprehensive—no wonder our team members love this virtual office. This includes having a registered and a director’s address, multi-currency bank account, mail forwarding, and global courier service. It doesn’t stop there. They also offer call handling (including unlimited phone calls) to make your company look really professional, as well as a free domain name for your website. Although we appreciate that they have meeting rooms should you need them, there are only two available. With all these offerings, we understand the rates. They are a bit pricier than others, but it’s understandable if you look at the inclusions and the fact that there are no setup fees. Pros Experience dates back to the 1970s Wide range of services Lots of inclusions per package Meeting rooms are available No setup fees Cons A bit pricier Limited number of meeting rooms Very helpful with my calls “So far I can only speak to the customer service calls as I am a new client and have set up my account recently. John R. was very helpful with my calls to confirm everything was done for my account, and reassuring how the mail process would work. Friendly & helpful service so far, thanks John!” -Nicky Lowe, Google Review Good service and support “Had an issue getting into my account, so used the live chat and actually connected with a very helpful guy, Frank Cromwell who assisted me with the process and solved my problem. Thanks Frank! For me, good service and support are worth their weight in gold when things don’t go according to plan.” -Sue Eagle, Google Review [H3] 5. City Virtual Hub [IMG: city-virtual-hub] Address: 49 Greek St Contact: +44 (0) 20 3823 6949, [email protected] Business hours: Monday – Friday: 9 am – 6 pm Saturday – Sunday: Closed Instagram Website City Virtual Hub is located in Soho, which means you get the expensive address of Central London without actually having to rent one. They’re one of our staff’s favourite options as well, and we can understand why. They pretty much have everything a remote team or startup needs. There’s the virtual office, virtual phone number, and meeting rooms (perfect for some serious business matters!). There are three packages: mail forwarding, mail scanning, and combo package. We actually like these because you can pick exactly what you need. The combo package offers the best value for money because you can get your mail scanned and forwarded. But it is pricier—actually, all their packages are slightly up there since the cheapest monthly plan costs £55. But here’s the thing: you get what you need and the mail service is done efficiently. We were pretty surprised at how fast they’ve been based on our experiences. Pros Soho address Available meeting rooms Offers virtual phone number Efficient mail service Cons Slightly expensive fees Perfect for a busy freelancer like me “This is perfect for a busy freelancer like me. It doesn’t cost the earth and I get exactly what I need, a proper address in Soho. Thanks guys!” -Pete Gore, Google Review A very simple process “I’ve never used a virtual office service before and I must say it was a very simple process. I once decided to do some DIY marketing for a little project, and my big idea was to play a loud song outside my house while I handed out flyers. Well, the songs were great, but let’s just say the neighbours didn’t appreciate the 7 AM wake-up call. That’s when I realised maybe it’s best to leave the marketing to the pros. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to avoid a loud sound disaster and get your brand the attention it deserves. Lucky for you, London is home to some fantastic marketing agencies that really know their stuff. So let’s skip the noisy part and dive into the top marketing agencies in London that could turn your brand into the next big thing! Contents show 1. The Good Marketer 2. SideDish Media 3. LOCALiQ 4. Make Agency 5. Nautilus Marketing How much does hiring a marketing agency cost in London? In London, you can expect to pay between £2,000 and £10,000 per month for a marketing agency, depending on the scope and scale of services required. The Good Marketer [IMG: the-good-marketer] Address: 65 Rivington St. Phone: +44 203 576 2150 Business Hours: Monday to Friday – 9 AM to 7 PM Instagram Website The Good Marketer specialises in helping SMEs grow, expand, and reach new heights in the digital world. Their approach is super tailored, which is something a lot of our surveyed contacts raved about. They really dig into what makes each business unique and create personalised marketing strategies that hit the mark. What we liked most was their multi-functional workspace. They have this vibrant space that’s perfect for content creation, photoshoots, and brainstorming sessions. Moreover, the team is excellent at keeping communication lines open. Clients shared that the agency is transparent about their processes, and they’re always in the loop about what’s happening with their projects. However, we noted that it can be a bit pricey. So, if you’re on a tight budget, you might find their rates on the higher side. Pros Tailored marketing strategies Vibrant, multi-functional workspace Excellent client communication Transparent about processes and costs Creative hub for content creation and brainstorming Cons Rates can be pricey Exceptional media management expertise “We’ve had great experience working with The Good Marketer. They handle our Meta & Google ads across multiple verticals with impressive skill. The customer service is exceptional, and their team feels like a true extension of our own. Our project manager is incredibly knowledgeable, providing weekly summaries that are both detailed and strategic. This level of insight makes it easy to understand our performance. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled media management partner.” iFinance Canada, Google Review Consistent and knowledgeable support “I first discovered The Good Marketer back in 2020 while working for a U.S. company, and they provided exceptional support for our international account. Recently, I brought them on board with my current Canadian company to manage our paid media accounts, and once again, they delivered phenomenal service and results. As a long-term client, I can confidently say they are a knowledgeable and hands-on agency. If you’re looking for a team that truly understands paid media management and provides dedicated support, I highly recommend TGM.” Bojana Ceranic, Google Review [H3] 2. SideDish Media [IMG: sidedish-media] Address: 18 Soho Square Phone: +44 207 157 9943 Business Hours: Monday to Friday – 9 AM to 5:30 PM Instagram Website SideDish Media is mainly a top-tier marketing agency specialising in restaurants and hospitality. What we like about them is that their game plan is all about helping restaurants, bars, hotels, and other service-based businesses get good exposure. They also help to build up customer loyalty through a bunch of digital marketing tactics. We’re talking social media management, PPC, SEO, and even content creation. Now, we’re also impressed by their transparency—they’ve got all their processes and tools laid out for you to see on their website. This is useful because you’ll know where your money’s going. But, on the flip side, we’re just a bit iffy about their pricing. It’s definitely on the higher end. Plus, with their high demand, it can be tricky to get a booking. Nonetheless, their approach is hands-on and customised, treating each client’s brand like it’s their own. Finally, we’re happy with their excellent client communication. The folks we talked to mentioned quick responses and detailed updates, which echoed our experience with them. Pros Exceptional niche expertise Transparent processes Hands-on customised strategies Excellent client communication Cons High pricing Scheduling difficulties due to high demand Incredibly knowledgeable and approachable “Loved working with SideDish Media. They are really knowledgeable and easy to work with. Definitely the best restaurant marketing agency on the market! Thanks for the help driving up our customers!” Kate Oldfield, Google Review Outstanding results and thorough communication “The Sidedish team have worked with me on Google My Business, paid search and social for several restaurant clients, always with impressive results. They make time to explain things and review the reporting thoroughly, always being super responsive and answering any questions. A huge asset to any marketing team.” Clare Reid, Google Review [H3] 3. LOCALiQ [IMG: localiq] Address: 4th Floor Queens House, 55/56 Lincoln’s Inn Fields Phone: +44 203 092 1471 Business Hours: Monday to Friday – 9 AM to 5:30 PM Instagram Website LOCALiQ offers an extensive range of multi-channel digital marketing solutions. From what we’ve found, these can help boost your brand awareness and, ultimately, your business growth. From their SEO and content marketing to PPC and cross-media optimization, we like how this place covers all the bases. They’ve even got video production, website design, and more. One thing that stood out to us is their tailored approach. They take the time to understand each client’s target audience to better engage with them. Plus, everything’s laid out clearly, and they keep their clients in the loop every step of the way. We also heard from others who appreciate their comprehensive and multi-faceted strategy. Many appreciate how they felt seen and heard in the marketing campaigns they’ve received. However, we must note that LOCALiQ’s services can be a bit heavy on the wallet, which might be a con if you’re running a tight ship. Pros Extensive range of services Multi-channel marketing solutions Personalised client approach High transparency and communication Significant potential for ROI Cons Pricey services Outstanding results and supportive team “We stated using Local IQ about a year ago. The results have been amazing with many sales consolidated as a result of customer enquiries received directly via their chat line and other advertising. They do website making, system integrations, integrated QA solutions, and technical SEO, among others. In addition, they craft creative campaigns across PPC, social media, and influencer marketing. They don’t stop there, either, since these guys are really into content creation—we’re talking copywriting, animation, and more. Their approach is super personalised—we chatted with a few clients and staff members, and everyone highlighted that. They also make it a point to assign a representative for each client to answer everything or explain everything about their process. Not going to lie, though, some of the prices did make us flinch a bit. Nevertheless, we love the team’s commitment to delivering quality and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. We were even more impressed by how easy they made complex processes look simple. Pros Comprehensive service range Personalised client approach Exceptional content creation High-level transparency and communication Impressive creativity in marketing campaigns Cons Premium pricing Could benefit from more digital automation Outstanding communication and quality delivery “Absolutely fantastic people to work with. Really helped my company with our website development, graphic design and production of marketing collateral. Excellent communication and everything is always done to the highest standard. They set up not only our (huge) website but also a network of sites for the local versions of our organisation to use. Now they provided ongoing support, and delivered a refresh of our template following a rebrand in spring/summer 2023. Their expertise has been invaluable and we know they will do everything they can to help, including being honest when something isn’t going to be straightforward to do. Friendly and approachable, I hope we continue to work with them for many years to come.” Melinda Mabbutt, Google Review [H3] 5. What’s keeping us positive, though, is their commitment to client satisfaction. Furthermore, we were particularly impressed by their SEO expertise, whether it’s international, local, ecommerce, or WordPress SEO. Not to mention, their skills in link building and digital PR can skyrocket your online presence. They even handle paid ads with finesse. Additionally, their portfolio speaks volumes, and you can check it out on their website to see some real-deal results. Communication is one of their strong suits too, so you’ll never be left guessing or chasing down updates. We liked their transparency, and it’s clear their clients appreciate this too. Most of them also agreed that the expertise and support offered are top-notch. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 830 businesses audited.
London Journey has 1.7 points less BS than the average for Media, News & Publishing.
Media, News & Publishing BS: London Journey (www.londonjourney.co.uk)
London Journey is a high-substance review site with a low-authority identity. It provides genuine utility to readers looking for specific venue data, but its self-promotional claims (1 million users) and technical schema errors (Ottawa links) suggest a templated affiliate operation rather than an established local newsroom.
Immediately update the JSON-LD schema to remove the incorrect sameAs links to Canadian social media accounts. Provide a verifiable traffic audit link to support the ‘one million Londoners’ claim or remove it. Add external links to author portfolios or LinkedIn profiles to verify ‘Lea Hughes’ and ‘Isla Walker’ as real experts. Replace static star ratings with a link to a third-party verification service to move from trust theatre to actual proof.
The site fits the Media and Publishing category as a digital city guide and review aggregator. However, its structured data reveals a significant mismatch, identifying as a NewsMediaOrganization while linking to social media profiles for ‘Best in Ottawa,’ suggesting a templated or cloned content model.
“The score of 33 is driven primarily by Identity and Authority gaps (11 points) and Trust Theatre (11 points).
