As one of the largest and busiest airports in the world, Chicago O’Hare serves as the primary hub for United Airlines and services over 80 million passengers per year. The airport is located 15.5 miles northwest of downtown Chicago and can be reached via car, bus, or subway.

O’Hare International Airport: ORDFun Fact: Originally named Orchard Field, Chicago renamed it’s primary airport to O’Hare Field later on to honor the legendary pilot Edward “Butch” O’Hare.  Since the IATA code (ORD) originally represented Orchard Field, it has no relation to the O’Hare name or the City of Chicago in general, which is why the ORD code name is so confusing!
