[IMG: TAGRISSO DTC Logo] [IMG: TAGRISSO DTC Logo] [H1] TAGRIS SOI can make pancakes [H3] Watch Deb’s story [H3] [H1] Understanding different types of lung cancer The two main types of lung cancer are non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). They are named based on how the cancer cells look under the microscope. About 80% to 85% of all lung cancer cases are NSCLC, making it the most common type of lung cancer It’s important to know your NSCLC stage [IMG: NSCLC Stage-1] Click the bar to see the different stages [IMG: NSCLC Stage-1] [IMG: NSCLC Stage-1] Stage 1Cancer is located only in the lungs and has not spread to any lymph nodes. The tumor is no larger than a few centimeters [IMG: NSCLC Stage-2] Stage 2Cancer is in the lungs and may have spread to nearby lymph nodes on the same lung [IMG: NSCLC Stage-3] Stage 3Cancer is in the lungs and may have spread to the lymph nodes. There may now be separate tumors on the same lung where the cancer started [IMG: NSCLC Stage-4] Stage 4Unlike the earlier stages of lung cancer, stage 4 lung cancer has spread to parts of the body beyond the lungs (metastatic). The tumors may be of any size and may or may not have spread to lymph nodes Your doctor will perform tests to determine your lung cancer stage. Please speak to your doctor to learn more about what your stage of lung cancer means for you. If you have stage 4 (metastatic) NSCLC, click here. Please speak to your doctor to learn more about what your stage of lung cancer means for you. If you have stage 4 (metastatic) NSCLC, click here. [H3] When diagnosed at an earlier stage (stage 1-3) Some earlier stages of cancer can be treated with surgery. If a tumor is considered “resectable,” it means that your cancer may be removed from your body through surgery. Depending on how much your cancer has spread in your lung, your surgeon may remove a portion of your lung (lobectomy), an entire lung (pneumonectomy), and/or any lymph nodes that are also affected Be sure to talk to your doctor about any questions you may have. You can also find additional information here. Why is it important to talk to your healthcare team about a treatment plan after surgery? Even after a successful surgery, cancer may sometimes return months or years later. This is called a “disease recurrence.” However, there are therapies available that may help prevent your cancer from coming back. [H3] Risk of cancer coming back (recurrence) Surgery removes all of the tumor that can be seen, plus a small amount around the border of the tumor. Lymph nodes may also be removed. Unfortunately, by the time you have surgery, individual cancer cells may have already moved to other sites in the body. These cells may be too few to be detected by any tests, and, if left alone, may multiply and cause the cancer to come back. These cells are called "micrometastasis" Treatment after surgery is meant to reach these cells even though they cannot be seen Having your doctor test your tumor may give them important information they need to determine a treatment plan that may help prevent your cancer from returning after surgery [H5] Your tumor that was removed during surgery can be tested for something called biomarkers. Find out about biomarkers and biomarker testing below. [IMG: What is Biomarker Test] [IMG: What is Biomarker Test] What is a “biomarker” test? [H3] [H3] Not all lung cancers are the same Biomarker testing can reveal mutations (sometimes called biomarkers) present in your type of lung cancer that may be causing your cancer to grow and spread. Testing for biomarkers is a way for your healthcare team to determine appropriate treatment options. Biomarker testing can be done by performing a biopsy (where a small piece of tissue is removed from the tumor). Your doctor may have already taken a biopsy prior to the surgery to remove your tumor to learn more information about your type of lung cancer. If you have already had surgery to remove your tumor, your surgical sample could also be used for biomarker testing, meaning that no further invasive procedure would be required. You will simply need to have a conversation with your doctor and provide consent to test your sample post-surgery for biomarkers. Biomarker testing can be done at the time of diagnosis or any time throughout your treatment journey. [H3] Biomarkers can reveal detailed information, including: [IMG: Lungs Icon] what may be causing your cancer to grow and spread [IMG: Pills Icon] which types of treatment may be appropriate for your type of cancer [H3] People with early-stage NSCLC may have a biomarker that could be targeted with therapy There are many NSCLC biomarkers, but some are more common than others. Your doctor may recommend you be tested for biomarkers such as EGFR mutation. Certain types of biomarker testing are sometimes referred to as genomic testing, molecular testing, or mutation testing. Finding out if your tumor tests positive for a biomarker, like an EGFR mutation, may help your doctor determine an appropriate treatment plan for your type of lung cancer. [IMG: Medical Oncologist] [IMG: Medical Oncologist] Biomarker testing is done by a medical oncologist A medical oncologist is a doctor who treats cancer with medicine Based on your biomarker test results, your medical oncologist may recommend a treatment plan designed to treat your type of cancer It's important to get biomarker testing to help you and your doctor determine the appropriate treatment plan. Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) is a common and important mutation Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) is a common and important mutation [H3] Non-small cell lung cancer with an EGFR mutation is known as EGFR+ NSCLC. EGFR is a mutation that is found in some people with early-stage NSCLC. [IMG: NSCLC Patients Stage] About 1 in 5 people with stage 1-3 NSCLC have cancer that tests positive for an EGFR mutation* EGFR is important because, when it is mutated, it can cause lung cancer to grow and spread. *Prevalence of EGFR mutations in NSCLC adenocarcinoma was based on data from 2 references: Sholl et al (2015) performed mutation analysis on 1007 cases with confirmed diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma. Testing was performed on 987 cases for EGFR sensitizing mutations (exon 19 deletions, EGFR L858R mutations, EGFR G719X mutations, EGFR L861Q mutations) and other EGFR mutations (any one or more mutations in EGFR other than exon 19 deletions, L858R mutations, G719X mutations, or L861Q mutations). Out of 987 cases, 331 cases that were analyzed had stage 1-3 NSCLC; and D’Angelo et al (2012) analyzed tumor specimens from a cohort of 1118 patients with stage I-III surgically resected lung adenocarcinomas with EGFR exon 19 deletions and L858R mutations only. *Based on 2 studies: The first study included 1007 cases of lung cancer. You don’t have to do everything for them, and your support can take many different forms. Here are a couple of strategies and resources for taking care of your loved ones with lung cancer while also taking care of yourself. [IMG: Checkmark Icon] Know the disease Understanding your loved one’s disease will not only show you care but may also take a load off their shoulders. For example, a person with early-stage NSCLC often has different needs than a person with stage 4 NSCLC. Knowing those needs can help you support them better. You may want to read some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about lung cancer to gain a better understanding of their condition. [IMG: Down arrow icon] [H3] How to best support your loved one with NSCLC Ask for a referral to a medical oncologist and follow through with the appointment An oncologist may be able to determine an appropriate treatment plan that may help keep their cancer from coming back. Early-stage NSCLC is often treated first with surgery, but for some patients, surgery won’t be the end of their treatment journey. Help ensure that your loved one is referred to an oncologist to help create an appropriate treatment plan, and make sure to always follow through on your referral with your healthcare team [IMG: Surgeon Icon] Surgeon [IMG: Medical Oncologist Icon] Medical Oncologist [IMG: Pulmonologist Icon] Pulmonologist [H4] Pathologist [H4] Radiation Oncologist [IMG: Biomarker Test Icon] Remind your loved one to find out their biomarker test results before starting treatment A biomarker test measures “drivers” that may cause your loved one’s cancer to grow or spread and can be anything that is tested for or measured in the body as a sign of a medical condition or disease. Biomarkers can help doctors find out detailed information about a tumor and can help predict how well the body may respond to certain types of treatment. It is important to remember that test results may not come back for a few weeks, but it’s important to know the results before starting treatment. If your loved one has a biomarker like an EGFR mutation, their doctor may be able to create a targeted treatment plan designed for their kind of lung cancer Support and encourage your loved one throughout treatment Taking a medication as prescribed by their doctor is so important. Help remind them to take TAGRISSO once-daily, with or without food, about the same time every day, for as long as their doctor has prescribed it (for up to 3 years or if their cancer comes back or if they or their doctor decides to stop treatment) [IMG: Calendar and Clock Icon] [IMG: Calendar and Clock Icon] Support and encourage your loved one throughout treatment Taking a medication as prescribed by their doctor is so important. [IMG: Notes Icon] [H3] Taking notes Help your loved one by taking notes at their appointment or writing down questions they have before their appointment. [H3] Coordinating rides You can help someone with cancer get to the hospital whether that means driving them yourself, sending a gift card for a ridesharing app, or finding another friend or family member to drive them to their appointment. [IMG: Car Icon] [IMG: Checkmark on phone icon] [H3] Following up Checking in with your loved one after an appointment can be just as important as being there physically. You can set reminders on your phone to give them a call or text to see how they’re doing, or if they just want to talk. Emotional and practical support Living with lung cancer can take an emotional toll, and you can help support them in many ways. Offer specific help. Any type of help is appreciated, but for someone with cancer, specific offers are the most helpful. Not having to think about delegating tasks can make a huge difference. Whether they need help with household errands, shopping, or other tasks, your support will have a positive impact on their life. Make sure they have what they need. With time spent in and out of doctors’ offices, small items can help. Whether it’s a sweater, a portable phone charger, hand lotion, or a book for the waiting room—you can make sure they have what they need. Think about your loved one and find a small thing that could make a big difference in their day. Include your loved one in activities. Doing things together can provide a sense of normalcy and help you both stay connected. Having fun together is essential when you’re living through stressful situations. Get connected with community [H3] Both you and your loved one with cancer can benefit from getting connected to a community that can understand what you’re going through. 🔗 Identity & Technical Layer — schema JSON-LD: identity chains, entity gaps (Identity & Authority)
Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Medical Devices, Pharma & Biotech BS: TAGRISSO (AstraZeneca) (tagrisso.com)
This site is a ‘regulatory fortress built on a template swamp.’ While the drug’s clinical substance is undeniable and well-cited, the digital delivery is plagued by unfinished placeholders and absurd H1 errors like the ‘pancakes’ slogan. It currently functions as a compliant but lazy brochure that fails to provide the authoritative patient-centered experience it promises.
Immediately remove the H1 ‘TAGRIS SOI can make pancakes’ and replace it with a semantic, keyword-rich heading regarding adjuvant treatment. Replace all ‘Inspirational quote to come’ placeholders with actual, dated patient testimonials that include specific diagnosis-to-treatment timelines. Implement Organization and Person schema to bridge the authority gap and link Dr. Gurubhagavatula to her professional credentials. Fix the broken heading hierarchy to ensure H2-H4 tags follow a logical information architecture rather than being used for legal boilerplate headers.
The site content perfectly aligns with the Pharma & Biotech category, specifically focusing on oncology and targeted therapies for EGFR+ NSCLC. It utilizes heavy regulatory-required documentation such as Important Safety Information (ISI) and cites peer-reviewed studies (Sholl et al., D’Angelo et al.), confirming its status as a pharmaceutical product site.
“The score of 45 is driven primarily by the 'Identity and Authority' and 'Information Density' pillars due to the catastrophic presence of placeholder text and nonsensical H1 headers. While the clinical data is highly substantive (lowering the potential score), the technical execution is so indicative of a generic template failure that it introduces significant 'Bullshit' via neglect. The lack of structured data and the presence of dummy names like 'Name X' are the primary credibility killers.”
