Specialising in rural property, we advise private family estates and farming companies, charities, individuals, property investors, commercial and leisure businesses on a range of services from lettings, rent collection, to succession planning and estate development.

[H1] Our History

Founded in 1991 by Anthony Owen and Joanne Owen, the company traces its roots back to the respective practices of Mr John Benyon FRICS and Captain T E Blois Brooke FRICS who managed a range of West Wales estates for over 50 years until their amalgamation into the partnership of Cooke & Arkwright in the early 1980s.
Upon the sale of Cooke & Arkwright to Lloyds Bank, the business became known as Black Horse, before being taken over by Anthony Owen & Joanne Owen and the founding of Owen & Owen in 1991.
Lloyd James joined the Partnership in 2015 when Lloyd James Land & Estate Management merged with Owen & Owen. The Partnership became a Limited Company in April 2019 following the retirement of Anthony and Joanne from the Partnership.
