[H2] THE VALUE OF IDEAS Many people believe that ideas are worthless and only action and execution matter. This is a false belief. Ideas have real and tangible value. Ideas inspire action and direct the efforts of work. Not only do ideas have value, but their value has yet to be fully realized to humanity’s benefit. The real connections between ideas, actions, decisions, and opportunities elude society. Ideas are important because they are the building blocks of potential change. Ideas are possibilities. They are the units of adaptability and change that direct new thinking, grander goals, and more efficient action. We must understand ideas. We must value them. We must manage them. We must be open to them. We must bring our best ideas to their full potential because they are the ultimate renewable resource. [H2] OUR MISSION To build a new scientific understanding of the value of ideas, to learn the secrets of unlocking that value and leveraging it for good, with the goal of ensuring humanity transforms the vast technological productivity gains of the future into human prosperity. We are rethinking what it means to create value. [H2] ABOUT US Eric Anderson founded the Idea.com project in 2016. Eric has been inspired by big ideas and made them into reality over the past twenty years. He’s had some great successes and some failures. He’s fortunate to have met other deep thinkers and contributors to the mission of idea.com, and wants you to know that there will be opportunities in the future for you to contribute as well. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

IDEA.COM has 46.7 points more BS than the average for Science, Research & Laboratories.
Science, Research & Laboratories BS: IDEA.COM (idea.com)
IDEA.COM is a masterclass in philosophical fluff masquerading as a scientific enterprise. It achieves a high BS score by making grandiose metaphysical claims while providing zero proof, zero technical detail, and zero transparency. It is essentially a digital manifesto rather than a legitimate scientific or research organization.
Replace the philosophical H1 with a concrete value proposition that names a specific scientific domain or methodology. Publish a ‘Research’ or ‘Projects’ page that lists at least three named, dated, and verifiable outcomes or publications from the founder’s 20-year history. Implement Organization and Person schema with sameAs links to external professional profiles (ORCID, LinkedIn, or Google Scholar) to verify the ‘deep thinker’ claims. Add specific industry jargon such as ‘analytical methodology’ or ‘research pipeline’ to align the text with the ‘Science & Research’ classification.
The site claims to operate within the ‘Science, Research & Laboratories’ sector by promising a ‘new scientific understanding.’ However, the linguistic profile is almost entirely philosophical and metaphysical, lacking the technical rigor, terminology, or evidentiary standards expected of a scientific entity.
“The score of 81 is primarily driven by the Information Density pillar (30/30) and the Authority Gaps (13/15). The total lack of specific data points, paired with the absence of structured data and the high use of abstract 'power words' without nouns, creates a maximum distance between the site's claims and its verifiable substance.”
