H3 “Dr. Julie Beischel is a courageous, innovative pioneer who has brought immense respectability to a controversial area. Her contribution is huge, because throughout human history the terror of death’s finality has caused more suffering than all the physical diseases combined.”
H3 “Julie Beischel and her team have joined a unique group of scientists over the past century who have studied mediums. Beischel’s team has taken on the challenge in a serious and rigorous way, and the results of their efforts are intriguing.”

H3 "It has been only in the last 15 or so years that a few courageous scientists have risked showing any interest in studying mediumship and picking up where [the] esteemed researchers of yesteryear left off. Dr. Beischel is one of those few.”
H3 “Probably no one has done as much detailed scientific research as Dr. Beischel in such an original way. Her results are unquestionably authentic and her unique direction unparalleled.”
H3 “Dr. Beischel’s novel approach to mediumship research involves treating mediums as human beings who are able to report reliably about their inner subjective experience while giving readings. This approach has provided the fatal blow to the remains of the so-called ‘superpsi’ hypothesis which has plagued mediumship research since the time of William James.”
H3 “Beischel is to be congratulated for her dedication to understanding a type of human experience that, for largely ideological reasons, science as a whole has shunned.”

Welcome!

Sorry about the annoying popup, but I wanted to announce the formation of the new Windbridge Research Center, an Arizona non-profit corporation [501(c)(3) status pending].

The Center is dedicated to performing rigorous scientific research and creating educational materials focused on dying, death, and what comes next.

Much of the work being done at the Center is an extension of the research that was done at the Windbridge Institute, LLC.

The Center was created in July 2017 and we are still adding content to this site.

I invite you to read my entire welcome message by clicking HERE.

[H3] Our Mission

The mission of the Windbridge Research Center is to ease suffering around dying, death, and what comes next by performing rigorous scientific research and sharing the results and other customized content with the general public, clinicians (like medical and mental health professionals), scientists (like researchers and philosophers), and practitioners (like mediums).

[H3] Our History

The Windbridge Research Center, located in Tucson, Arizona, USA, was co-founded by husband and wife research team Mark Boccuzzi and Julie Beischel, PhD, in July 2017. The Center took over the peer-reviewed research on the topics of life after death and after-death communication that had been conducted at the Windbridge Institute, LLC, since 2008. The Center also added outreach and educational activities to complement its research programs.
On February 22, 2018, the Windbridge Research Center was granted US federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
Today, Mark volunteers as the Executive Director and Dr. Beischel serves as Director of Research.

[H3] What We Do

Daily activities at the Center include:
Designing and performing mediumship research.
Publishing Threshold: Journal of Interdisciplinary Consciousness Studies (TJICS), a free, peer-reviewed, online-only, open access journal.
Creating and providing relevant Fact Sheets and short videos based on our research findings.
Sharing updates on our website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and through monthly emails to our list.
Publishing original research in peer-reviewed academic journals and books.
Presenting our findings at meetings, workshops, and academic conferences

[H3] Current Activites

For a list of our current projects, please click here. For a review of our activities in please see our news posts.

[H3] Our Commitment To Free, Open Access Content

As a charitable organization, we believe we must provide access to our research and educational materials to everyone at no cost. We accomplish this by working closely with other organizations that embrace this open access ethic. In cases where it may not be possible to provide free access to some materials (for example, many academic publishers place research manuscripts behind paywalls), we create videos, factsheets, and other resources that summarize new findings. These resources are then published on our website under the Creative Commons License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) so that they can be freely shared for noncommercial use.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Windbridge Research Center presents as a testimonial-walled garden where scientific authority is ‘performed’ through a barrage of recycled peer praise rather than demonstrated through technical transparency. The stagnation of its messaging—evidenced by nearly decade-old ‘pending’ status notifications—signals a disconnect between its claim of ‘driving discovery’ and its actual digital substance.

Immediately remove the stale 2017 popup that contradicts current tax status to restore basic semantic coherence. Implement proper Organization and Person schema to link the management team to verifiable external academic footprints (ORCID/Google Scholar). Replace the repetitive H3 testimonial wall on the homepage with a ‘Research Pipeline’ or ‘Latest Findings’ section that links directly to the Threshold journal’s data sets. Consolidate the duplicate testimonial blocks to improve the substance-to-fluff ratio and stop the redundant loops that trigger BS detection algorithms.

The entity aligns with the Science, Research & Laboratories category, specifically within the niche of parapsychology and consciousness studies. While it maintains the structural hallmarks of research—advisory boards, a peer-reviewed journal (Threshold), and principal investigators—the content heavily prioritizes qualitative praise over quantitative data availability.

“The score of 63 is primarily driven by the 'Information Density' and 'Identity/Authority' pillars. The excessive repetition of the same 9-10 long-form quotes as H3 headers across multiple pages created a high fluff and repetition penalty. Additionally, the technical failure to implement any structured data (Schema) while claiming scientific authority contributed significantly to the 'Identity and Authority' gap.”
