Training Example: Anytype – Review the Data, Give Your Score & Compare to the Real AI Evaluation

Industry Context — Common BS Fingerprints in Software, SaaS & Tech Products
Generic Claims: the all-in-one platform, trusted by thousands of companies, increase productivity by X percent, save hours every week…
Red Flags: AI claims without explaining what the AI does, customer logos without case study or testimonial evidence, no live product access or demo, SOC 2 claims without audit period or report availability…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims AI-powered but product is rules-based, claims enterprise-grade but pricing page shows startup tiers only, homepage shows Fortune 500 logos but case studies are small businesses, claims all-in-one but integration page shows critical missing pieces…
Proof Expectations: live product demo or free trial access, specific feature documentation with screenshots, verified customer logos with published case studies, third-party review scores on G2, Capterra, or TrustRadius…

Yes - have a look at the
ANY Experience Gallery
: our community marketplace of templates. After downloading the app, you can install any template/Experience to your space.
[H4] How secure is my data with Anytype?

Upon creating your profile, you’ll receive your very own 12 word mnemonic ‘Recovery’ phrase to protect your account. This phrase is generated on-device and represents your master key generated upon signup, similar to a Bitcoin wallet. It also prevents anyone - including Anytype - from accessing your account and decrypting your data.

All data you create will be stored locally (on-device) first. We use zero-knowledge encryption, meaning that your data is encrypted before it leaves your device to sync with other devices or backup nodes.

You can choose to self-host your own backup node or use ‘local-only’ mode, which means that data will only be synced across verified devices in your local network.
Check out this page
and our
documentation
to read more about our sync protocol.

[H4] Can I try Anytype before purchasing?

Yes - anyone can get started with Anytype, free of charge. By default, your account will be E2E encrypted, stored on-device, offline-first, and synced in your local p2p network.
[H4] How often is Anytype updated?
We aim to ship a cross-platform release once per month. Sometimes, when major features are in the works, it can take slightly longer. Each time we make a release, you’ll see an in-app notification that there’s a new version available. You can always check here for our full, cross-platfrom changelogs. You can also follow our roadmap to keep up-to-date with which features are in the works.

[H4] What kind of license do you use?

Our protocols are released as open source with a permissive license
(MIT),
enabling anyone to review the code and make modifications with minimal restrictions.

[H4] What is Anytype’s tech stack?

Desktop: Typescript

Mobile: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)

Backend & Infrastructure: Golang

[H4] Where can I follow or contribute to Anytype’s codebase?

You can check out
our repositories here
and our
contributors’ community here.
[H4] Why does the website say "ANY–A Swiss Association"?

We chose to incorporate Switzerland for its regulatory framework that is amenable to startups in our space. Particularly, as it provides a stable macroeconomic environment and legal certainty for companies working with decentralized assets, Switzerland was an optimal choice for us to develop our technology.

As the regulatory environment also gives startups greater determination over their IP produced in Switzerland, this org structure also permits us to properly give back to people who have contributed to generating value for our organization (including contributors from the community).

Furthermore, the choice of incorporating as an Association rather than an LLC or other legal structure distinguishes ANY as a company managed in accordance with commercial practices, but which exists for the greater good.

We consider ourselves a remote team, but we maintain one hub in Berlin (where our team is employed by our local GmbH, a subsidiary of the Swiss Association).
[H4] Do you offer special plans for educators and students?

Educators and students can receive a 50% discount on membership plans. Apply here to verify your eligibility and get your discount automatically.
[H4] Is there a community or forum where users can share tips and best practices for using Anytype?
Absolutely - we’re fortunate to be supported by a community of warm & passionate Anytypers.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

32 BS / 100

Anytype is a rare example of a tech site where the substance actually outweighs the sizzle. While it uses poetic headers, the forensic evidence—ranging from tech stack transparency to its unique legal incorporation—suggests a product-led company with very little to hide.

Implement comprehensive Organization and Person JSON-LD schema to bridge the authority gap. Link the 39 reviews directly to the original source platforms (Product Hunt, App Store) to move from trust theatre to verified proof. Replace abstract headers like [H3] Think Fast with more descriptive technical benefits. Add a link to a public security audit to substantiate the ‘absolute privacy’ claim.

The site perfectly aligns with the Software and Tech industry, specifically focusing on decentralized, local-first collaboration tools. The inclusion of a specific tech stack (Typescript, Golang, Swift) and licensing details (MIT, Source Available) confirms a high degree of category relevance.

“The score of 32 is driven primarily by the lack of structured data (Identity & Authority) and the presence of unverified reviews (Trust Theatre). The site scored nearly 0 in Semantic Coherence, indicating an exceptionally honest alignment between what it promises and what it explains.”
