Stunning course but needs a little TLC
I was tempted to mark the course down to a 3 but it is still undoubtedly located in a wonderfully unique location, skirting the Ria Formosa, so it's a 4 presently (for me).
The course just needs a little TLC and it's not too late, providing the owners invest quickly, to raise the standards a little to protect its heritage and reputation. I played the course 15-20 years ago when it was one of the best courses in Europe.

Ocean Never Disappoints
The Ocean course at Vale Do Lobo is always a good day out , great layout , conditioning and makes you think off the tee with plenty of risk reward shots on offer. I walk with a motocaddy and find it better as you can go direct to your ball . We would really recommend playing and also special mention to the staff who are lovely

Disappointed that scorecard did not have map/plan of holes.
Having paid £100 for a round I expected the greens to be in better condition.

Getting back to it's best
North course is getting back to it's very best , having played it at the end of May and found the conditions of the grass & bunkers to be very poor I wasn't sure how it would be yesterday 03rd August , but they have recovered it excellently, it's one of my favourite courses in the Algarve , not very long but greens can be tricky , it has the nicest opening tee shot of all the courses , I walked it for 07.36 tee time and it was already very warm , a good workout! Looking forward to playing it again

From the start, a very easy and smooth experience with Algarve Golf. Good value golf package
The agent, Celine was extremely helpful in identifying three decent courses near to our Albufiera villa at a price that suited our needs (Pine Cliffs, The O’Connor, Silves).
We were also lucky enough to have trolleys at Pine Cliffs and buggies at The O’Connor included in the price. Overall an excellent experience with AlgarveGolf which we will happily use again when back in Portugal.

Die Buchung der Teetimes über die Webseite war völlig problemlos. Vorhandene Teetimes und Preise werden dort angezeigt und können passend ausgesucht werden. Die weitere Bearbeitung durch das Buchungsteam geht sehr schnell und der Stand kann online nachvollzogen werden. Bezahlt wird erst, wenn alle Teetimes durch die Golfclubs bestätigt sind. Aufgrund des Starkregens in Portugal musste ich eine Teetime verschieben. Auch das wurde problemlos und schnell abgewickelt. Die Korrespondenz mit den Mitarbeitern war sehr freundlich und kompetent. I’d been recommended by a friend who travels to Portugal many times for golf to use Algarvegolf.net for booking their golf.
The website is excellent as shows all live times available at all the courses.
When I’d picked the courses I’d like to play the planning process was excellent and so easily done and hassle free.
Within 24hour my booking was confirmed.
All golf vouchers were emailed to me when the clubs had confirmed my tee times.
And another added bonus was I had booked 4months ago but I got a shoulder injury and wasn’t sure if I was going to manage to play so I cancelled my original booking as balance was due 1month before trip and they refunded me my deposit aswell which I was pleased at.
Also I’d asked about a couple other courses but had been notified some were closed for renovations and no club houses available to building works.
I’ll definitely be using Algarvegolf.net for future bookings

The Ocean Golf Course in Vale do Lobo is a sister course to the Royal. The name of this course is appropriately suggesting is enviable location. As an older golf course it had a strong influence in placing the Algarve as a destination in the golfing world. The fairways have a tendency to be narrow and accuracy is imperative when playing. The Ocean Golf Course holes wander through pine trees with wonderful views of the sea between the homes lining the sides of the fairways. Course and facilities were excellent, my only gripe was with the Buggies and staff responsible for them, 1 of our buggies broke down on the 7th hole so had to be towed by the other buggy, we messaged the clubhouse and had no response, we was towed to the 9th green, we went to the buggy park to exchange the buggy and explained that no one had responded to the message and they were quite rude, we finally got another buggy only to find the park brake did not work, after we completed the 18 holes we went to complain at the clubhouse to find no one was there and nobody at the golf reception either.
