Please read through our most Frequently Asked Questions with reference to making Direct Debit payments.
Can I pay from my building society account?
Yes, you can use either a bank or building society account.
What are the payment dates?
Payments are collected on the 1st of each month, or the following working day if this falls on a bank holiday.
How much do I have to pay?
You decide, as long as the amount is above £25 and full balance is paid at least 12 weeks before you travel.
Do you send me a new invoice after each payment?
No. We suggest you keep a record of your payment schedule and check your bank account regularly. Alternatively, you can log onto Manage My Booking to view all the payments made on your booking so far.
Do I have to pay the whole of my balance by Direct Debit?
No. Any outstanding balance must be paid to us by another method at least 12 weeks before you travel.
How can I pay any remaining balance?
Payments can also be made by bank transfer, credit card or debit card.
What restrictions are there?
There aren't really any! Just set up your Direct Debit at least one week before you want the first payment to be taken.
What happens if the cost of the holiday is reduced, and my Direct Debit pays you too much?
Please contact the service centre on 0344 472 9646, and they will arrange a refund.
What if I cancel the booking?

What happens if the cost of my holiday is increased?

What happens if one of my Direct Debit payments fails?

You can still add your Flying Club number after you’ve booked, so you’ll earn points on your upcoming trip. If you’re the lead passenger on a Virgin Atlantic Holidays booking, simply head to Manage My Booking to add your Flying Club details. All other members on the booking can add their Flying Club number through Manage Booking, as long as their flight number begins with VS. If your flight number doesn’t start with VS, just visit the operating airline’s manage your booking page and add your Flying Club number there.

Based on total spend on a Virgin Atlantic Holidays booking, the lead booker only, will earn Virgin Points depending on their membership tier:

Red - 2 Virgin Points per £1 spent

Silver - 3 Virgin Points per £1 spent

Gold - 4 Virgin Points per £1 spent

Bookings must be made online at www.virginatlantic.com, via the Virgin Atlantic Holidays Customer Centre or via a Virgin Atlantic Holidays store.

To qualify for Virgin Points, you must add your Flying Club membership number to your booking. This can be done at the time of making your booking or prior to your holiday and either online, in person or on the phone.

Virgin Points will be awarded on qualifying bookings for all product types. Everything must be booked together on a single booking/booking reference.

Virgin Points will be earned on the total value of the booking. For bookings including flights, this includes the base fare and all taxes, fees, charges and surcharges.

Virgin Points will not be awarded on change or cancellation fees.

Virgin Points will be awarded once travel has been completed. Virgin Points will be added to the lead booker’s account up to 28 days after travel.

In addition, all Flying Club members on the booking will earn Virgin Points on any eligible Virgin Atlantic operated or airline partner flight based on the route and booking class they travel in.  Check how Virgin Points work here.

Earning double Tier points on Virgin Atlantic flights booked with Virgin Holidays

Double Tier Point levels are awarded based on cabin and booking class travelled for Virgin Atlantic flights for Flying Club members on qualifying Virgin Atlantic Holidays bookings. View the standard tier point earning table here.

Virgin Atlantic Holidays bookings must meet all of the following criteria:

All members must add their Flying Club number in at Virgin Atlantic My Booking or via My Account before travel for their booking to qualify to earn double Tier Points on Virgin Atlantic flights. 

The booking must be made on or after 13th March 2025 for any future travel date.

The booking as a minimum must include flights + accommodation, flights + car hire or flights + cruise.

The booking must include a Virgin Atlantic operated flight.

The hotel, car or cruise element of the Virgin Atlantic Holiday must be for a minimum of three nights.

The hotel, car or cruise booked as part of the Virgin Atlantic Holiday must be utilised for the full duration of the booking. 

The booking must originate and end in the UK.

If the booking includes both Virgin Atlantic and non-Virgin Atlantic operated flights, the double tier points will only apply to the Virgin Atlantic flight(s). Flights with Flying Club airline partners will earn standard Tier Points by carrier View the standard partner airline Tier Points earning levels here.
