AoIP: digital audio transmission via IP networkMobile outdoor PA applications
In the 21st century, audio signals are often conveniently transmitted via Ethernet and Internet. This is a great improvement in many scenarios. Especially when we have to transmit an audio signal over long distances, Audio over IP (AoIP for short) unfolds its full power. Why? Because PA is now also an option in a decentralised way. This means that sound is no longer provided by a fixed amplifier, but simply by tablet or laptop. This opens up completely new opportunities for projects. For example, for multi-zones in public facilities, airports, railway stations or congress centres. With these AoIP solutions with Dante® interface, the DT series from MONACOR makes previously unknown price-performance levels possible. The implementation via AoIP solution is extremely convenient and can be easily operated by your customers after a short adaptation phase.The focus is on the WALL-05DT speaker. It is perfectly suited for permanent installation in shops, hotels, restaurants, schools or indoor sports facilities. The design is classic, the interior is all the more modern, the sound quality is impressive. AoIP means more freedom for the user.
With an AoIP solution you can distribute audio signals flexibly, i.e. address and configure every single speaker individually. The audio components are connected via the IP network and the signals are distributed via a virtual link. The sampling rates can also be adjusted freely with AoIP: the user can play back speech in lower quality and music in higher quality.
If audio data are small data packets, the question of cable quality does not arise. Only the quality of the audio data counts.

1. Dante® makes Audio over IP usable for real-time applications, e.g. live performances.In fact, the latency of Dante® is also dependent on the number of devices and cable paths. However, the latency does not exceed 5 milliseconds and is therefore not noticeable to humans.2. Dante® instruments always recognise Dante® instruments. The technical term for this is auto discovery. With Dante® there is no more annoying configuration via the device manager and no driver and firmware jungle.3. Dante® is the network protocol of large performance numbers.Dante® offers integrated Gigabit support and allows for cabling distances of up to 100 metres, in fibre optic networks even significantly longer. This makes Dante® particularly suitable for installations where the respective devices are far apart, i.e. stadiums, educational institutions, city halls, museums.4. Dante® uses a preconfigured word clock. Dante® devices synchronise automatically. The user can choose which device 'sets the beat'.
