Just about a year ago I had Harvey's in to replace my windows and conservatory door, they had to do some upgrading to my window lintels which they quoted a very reasonable price in with the total cost. 1 year on I have been very happy that they provided extra warmth to the house during the winter months, and the mould/ moisture around the windows has gone in the colder weather. Will be using them again in the future.

Excellent work from Harveys Windows

Harveys fitted new double glazed units to our existing porch doors and a new back door. The porch door units were one-off designs, which Harveys designer Ed translated perfectly into the designs and colours we wanted. Ed took care to listen to our requirements and worked meticulously to convert these into drawings for the maker of the units to work from. The fitters Jamie & Sam worked very cheerfully and professionally on the fitting of the porch door units and the back door. Their expertise and precision was sustained over what turned out to be quite a long shift. The quality of their work matched the quality of the units supplied by Harveys. Throughout the whole process, from initial consultation, to final invoicing, the administrator Jane maintained prompt and precise communications. I can definitely recommend this firm.

Chose Harvey's to build us a small Orangery to square off a dog leg build by original home owner . From start to finish this project has been stress free . Harveys sorted all the paperwork, building regs . Surveys ect . Gave us week by week schedule so we could arrange when to be home . The weather was shocking but all the trades cracked on & still finished on time . The result is the wow factor . Just beautiful. Cannot wait to decorate it . Had a couple of snagging issues, but they were on it the next working day and fixed . All the team from tradesmen to staff were fantastic. Roof Changing Questions

I am thinking of replacing my old tired polycarbonate roof with a solid one - is there any 'red tape' involved?
An existing conservatory with doors into the house is exempt from Building Regulations but changing the roof to a solid one means that Building Regulations will apply. Don't worry, your Ultraframe retailer will take care of everything

How long will it take to replace the roof? I am worried my existing floor will be damged during the transfomational
It is perfectly feasible to change simple designs over the course of one day. Plaster boarding and skimming - if a solid roof - would then take place over the next day or so. Ultraframe retailers will protect any existing floor etc during the project.

Changing to a solid roof means it has to comply with Building Regulations, is there any offical paperwork I should keep?
In England and Wales, Harveys and Ultraframe work with an approved inspector organisation called Stroma. They ensure the necessary procedures are followed and issue a completion certificate for you, which you can file with the deeds to your property. In other regions of the UK, other arrangements are in place.

I want to have some pendant lighting and spotlights around the perimeter - how feasible is this?
Suspending pendant lights at the highest point of the vaulted celling is fine as there are structural braces inside the plasterboard to take the weight of the lights. Spotlights can fit into the 300mm deep peiment that runs around the perimeter - this can be varied to make this pelmet even more pronounced. You can add a central lighting panel and or an insulated pelmet to house lighting with a classic roof too.

I am nervouse about loosing light into my adjecent dining room and I want to keep the room light and bright - what can be done?
A Livinroof and Ultraroof both have the option to insert large glazed panels in virtually any position to allow light into your home. Rectangular panels only in Ultraroof.

Is my roof fire safe?
Both Livinroof an Ultraroof have been stringently tested to ensure compliacne with fire safety testing. In eachh case, the entire solid conservatory roof has been tested. Our partners for this testing exercise are Exova and WarringtonFire. These independent and recognised companies can qualify that each roof is compliant to British Standards (BS) and European Standards (EN).

- Livinroof is fire rated as B-roof according to EN 13501-5:2016
- Livinroof is fire rated as AA according to BS476-3:2004 (Aluminium panel)
- Ultraroof is fire rated as B-roof according to EN13501-5:2016
- Ultraroof is fire rated as AC according to BS476-3-2004

The existing conservatory has multiple shapes - I think you call it a 'P' shape. Can it be upgraded?
Yes - you can choose from our Classic roof with high performance glazing. Our Ultraroof tiled system or Livinroof with its mix of glazing and grey insulated solid panels.

Will the solid roof be too heavy to sit on my windows?
Livinroof & Ultraroof are much lighter than other replacement roofs and not much heavier than a glass roof. (Livinroof has a weight of only 31kg/m3 and Ultraroof weighs only 38kg/m3). This often enable the original window frames to be used, providing a saving to the homeowner if require.
The difference in loading on the foundations is negligble. Provided there is no sign of settlement in the base there is no need to 'boost' the foundations. Please consult your retailer if in any doubt.

How much more comfortable will this new room be?
As the roof complies with Building Regulations, it is as thermally insulated as possible. In fact Livinroof and Ultraroof are up to 15 times more thermally efficient than the roof being replaced. This will mean you can have greater comfort and lower bills than you have been used to. You can also keep the ligh too with both Livinroof and Ultraroof. If you choose a Classic roof with performance glass this can also framtically improve thermal performance of your conservatory.

Just about a year ago I had Harvey's in to replace my windows and conservatory door, they had to do some upgrading to my window lintels which they quoted a very reasonable price in with the total cost. 1 year on I have been very happy that they provided extra warmth to the house during the winter months, and the mould/ moisture around the windows has gone in the colder weather. Excellent work from Harveys Windows

Harveys fitted new double glazed units to our existing porch doors and a new back door. The porch door units were one-off designs, which Harveys designer Ed translated perfectly into the designs and colours we wanted. Ed took care to listen to our requirements and worked meticulously to convert these into drawings for the maker of the units to work from. The fitters Jamie & Sam worked very cheerfully and professionally on the fitting of the porch door units and the back door. Their expertise and precision was sustained over what turned out to be quite a long shift. The quality of their work matched the quality of the units supplied by Harveys. Throughout the whole process, from initial consultation, to final invoicing, the administrator Jane maintained prompt and precise communications. I can definitely recommend this firm.

Excellent service

From start to finish they did a superb job. From going into the company and booking a survey to the fitters arriving at my property we were treated with friendliness and efficiency. Great company to deal with

We chose Harvey’s to replace our conservatory roof and we believe we made the right choice. The surveyor was very thorough and the standard of workmanship was high. It took longer than we thought but it’s a huge conservatory and they encountered some appalling weather conditions and illness during the build. Everyone we dealt with was very helpful including staff at the office. Now it’s finished it looks great and several people have admired it and asked who we used. Needless to say we’rethrilled and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Beyond our expectations

Excellent service and build

Chose Harvey's to build us a small Orangery to square off a dog leg build by original home owner . From start to finish this project has been stress free . Harveys sorted all the paperwork, building regs . Surveys ect . Gave us week by week schedule so we could arrange when to be home . The weather was shocking but all the trades cracked on & still finished on time . The result is the wow factor . Just beautiful. Cannot wait to decorate it . Had a couple of snagging issues, but they were on it the next working day and fixed . All the team from tradesmen to staff were fantastic. We are using them again in the future and would 100 % recommend.

MultiSafe multi-point door locks are renowned for their ease of use, reliability and durability. We use profile specific keeps to ensure secure fastening to the outer frame.  Lever action is a very simple means of operating a door lock. When the door is unlocked by putting your key in the cylinder, the handle is pushed down to release all locking points. On closing, the handle is lifted to engage the main locking points then when the key is turned to lock the door, the central deadbolt is thrown into position, and all other locking points are deadlocked. [H3] Why does my door stick when it is hot outside?

During really hot spells, high quality, steel reinforced uPVC doors can swell by upto 2.5cm which will probably affect the regular action of opening and closing your door. This is a natural aspect of the material and is a temporary situation which will rectify itself as the temperature drops .In the meantime, if the situation is causing you problems, they can be alleviated by hosing the door with cold water to reverse the expansion. You should not try and adjust the door as this will cause problems once the temperature drops back down again.

[H3] What does the ‘Secure by Design’ logo mean?

Secure by design is a police backed initiative which means that you can be sure that the product you are buying meets the highest security standards. As well as the already high specification of locking mechanisms that you get on good quality uPVC doors, there are extra standards applied such as laminated glazing, special secure letter boxes, and spy holes. It also ensures that products have been independently tested to a relevant security standard and fully certified by an independent third-party. Regular re-testing and annual inspection of the manufacturing facility to ensure quality and performance are maintained are also required.This provides assurance that products have been produced under a controlled manufacturing environment in accordance with the specifier’s aims and minimises misrepresentation of the products by unscrupulous manufacturers/suppliers.
