How can I apply for financing?

There are two easy ways to apply for Homemakers/NFM financing.
You can apply online at NFM.com where you will create an account with Nebraska Furniture Mart to complete the online financing application.
You can download and print out a paper application and send it through the mail or bring it to our Homemakers showroom and present it to the financing office at the front of the store.

What promotional financing options does Homemakers offer?

Promotional Deferred Interest Plans* (No interest if paid in full XX months)
These everyday financing plans specifically described in a separate offer allow the option of paying no interest on your purchase if paid off in full by the end of the promotional period. Interest accrues at 18% APR from date of delivery but will be deferred and not charged to your account until the end of the promotional period unless you fail to make an on-time payment. Accrued interest will be waived if you timely make all necessary minimum monthly payments and the full purchase price is paid in full by the end of the promotional period. Accrued interest will be charged to your account as a lump sum at the end of the promotional period if the purchase price is not paid in full or at the due date of any payment during the promotional period you fail to make on-time, and the account balance will continue to accrue interest after such due date at 18% APR until paid in full.

Promotional Interest Rate Plans** (Enjoy a promotional interest rate of X.XX% for XX months)
These everyday financing plans specifically described in a separate offer allow you to enjoy a promotional interest rate of X.XX% for XX months on your purchase for the promotional period. Interest will be charged to your account at the promotional rate from the date of delivery and will be included in your payment each month. How is a deposit calculated?

When a deposit is required, deposits will be calculated using the order total, which includes the product cost and any applicable delivery fees, warranty coverage, and sales tax.

In addition to Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Affirm and the Homemakers/NFM Revolving Charge Account, we also accept personal checks, cash, bank cashier's checks, and money orders. No starter or temporary checks will be accepted. All checks will be deposited upon receipt. Homemakers will not hold checks.
Google Pay and Apple Pay are also accepted for in-store purchases.

How do I sign up for a Homemakers/NFM Revolving Charge Account?

You may apply for a Homemakers/NFM Credit Account today by visiting NFM.com/credit-services/ directly or viewing more information on our Credit & Financing page.
You must create an account with Nebraska Furniture Mart to continue applying online. If you prefer to apply in-person, you are welcome to apply in Homemakers at our Financing Office! Your new account, if approved, can be used to make purchases at both Homemakers and Nebraska Furniture Mart.

What is the interest rate on the Homemakers/NFM Credit Card?

The interest rate for the Homemakers/Nebraska Furniture Mart card is 18%.

Do you sell gift cards?

Gift cards can be purchased in-store at the Financing Office or online. When purchasing a gift card online, you can expect to receive a physical gift card in the mail in 3-5 business days. Gift cards can be redeemed in-store and online and can be purchased in any amount. We do not sell gift cards over the phone.

Do you accept gift cards from Nebraska Furniture Mart?

Yes, we accept gift cards from Nebraska Furniture Mart in-store only. You must have the physical card with you to give to us as a form of payment.

How long will my refund take if I used my credit card?

Orders paid by a credit card may take 5-10 business days to appear back on your account. If you don’t see your refund in 10 business days, please contact us.

What is your return policy?

Merchandise reselection or returns are available on merchandise excluding clearance, special orders, bed products (e.g. mattress, box spring, bed pillows, adjustable bases), and shipping/delivery charges.
Item(s) must be in its original condition and accompanied by a sales receipt within 30 days of delivery or pick up. All returns are subject to a restocking fee.
Additional shipping/delivery charges will be applied to any reselection or returns that require the delivery service. Refunds will be processed timely (excluding "AS IS" products, special orders, and delivery/shipping charges) upon return of the merchandise to Homemakers.
All refunds are issued via Homemakers check by our corporate office. Refunds of payments made by check will be made no sooner than 10 business days due to bank delays. Refunds of payments via Bank Credit Cards will be credited to the card used for payment. Cancellation of a special order by the buyer will result in the forfeiture of the 25% deposit of down payment made.

Can special/custom orders be returned?

Yes! Although, special/custom orders are subject to restocking fees if cancelled or returned. Custom orders require a 25% nonrefundable deposit at the time of order. Custom orders can be returned within 30 days (10 days for rugs and accessories).

If I purchased something at Nebraska Furniture Mart, can I return it to Homemakers or call them for service?

No, you will need to contact the store where you originally purchased the merchandise. Though Homemakers is a part of Nebraska Furniture Mart, both stores operate as separate companies.

I recently purchased an item that’s now been discounted. Can I get a refund for the difference in price?

If your merchandise is placed on sale within 30 days of your Homemakers purchase, Homemakers will gladly honor the sale price by issuing an in-store credit for the price difference. This guarantee cannot be combined with other offers and does not include clearance or Clearance Center pricing.

I recently purchased an item from your store, and I just found the same model at a different store for a lower price. Can I get a refund for the difference?

Enjoy our Best Price Guarantee! Within 30 days of receiving or picking up your Homemakers purchase, in the unlikely event you find the exact same merchandise advertised or displayed as currently in stock for less at an authorized dealer, just bring in written proof. A Homemakers Department Manager will verify the accuracy/legitimacy of the price, taking into account variables including, but not limited to, promotional pricing, applicable sales tax, delivery charges and shipping time. Upon verification, we will gladly issue a refund for 100% of the price difference to the original form of payment. This guarantee does not apply to special financing, bonus offers, rebates, limited quantity offers, clearance, closeout or out-of-the-box merchandise or custom orders, one-time promotions, seasonal sales, bundle sales, or discounts based on membership or subscription programs.

Can I get a copy of a receipt from a previous in-store purchase?

We can send receipts dating back to May 2012. Please contact us to request an emailed receipt.

Do you offer layaway?

No, as of 4/18/2026 we no longer offer layaway services.

What if the warranty has expired?

Please contact us and our customer service specialists will help with your problem. If the merchandise is damaged, we can set up a service call. Issues outside of warranty will be charged a service call fee as well as charged for parts and labor. Please call our customer service team for all details at (515) 276-2772.

I can't find my warranty paperwork. Do you keep those records?

Please contact us. Without your original receipt, we can find sales information for up to five years after the date of purchase.

Are your Design Studio services free?

Yes, our Design Studio services are 100% free.

If I'm picking up my order, do I need to call ahead?

The average wait time to pick up furniture is around 10 minutes. To minimize your pickup wait time, you may call ahead at 515-309-4664 prior to your arrival. Please have your receipt and ID ready to go. Click here for more information.

What are the hours of your Pickup Department?

Pickup is open during regular store hours:

Is a photo ID required to pick up my furniture?

If you are a resident in Iowa, you will not need to provide your driver's license.
If you live outside of Iowa or have a non-Iowa license plate, you will need to provide your driver's license or some form of ID at the time of pickup.

When will I be contacted regarding my delivery timeframe?

In-Home Delivery (Iowa Only) - After placing your order, we will contact you to schedule your exact delivery timeframe.
Curbside Delivery - After placing your order, we will contact you the evening before your scheduled delivery date to give you your 2-hour timeframe for your expected furniture delivery.
Nationwide Shipping - Once the items have shipped from our warehouse, you'll receive an email with instructions on how to schedule your delivery.

Can I change my delivery timeframe?

In certain situations, we may be unable to accommodate changes to your scheduled delivery timeframe. If you need to request a change, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll let you know what alternatives may be available.

What happens if we get our furniture home and there is something wrong?

Product(s) must be inspected upon delivery. Alert the driver about any damage and note it on the delivery checklist you will be asked to fill out, or contact Customer Service immediately.

Will my merchandise be assembled?

Products that are picked up, delivered through Curbside Delivery, or shipped out-of-state will not be assembled. Assembly is only included for In-Home Deliveries in Iowa, with the exception of a few products labeled as Customer Assembly Required. Customer Assembly Required products include, but are not limited to, the following:
Metal day beds

Sauder products

Metal bunk beds

Area rugs, pads

Mattress pads

Some Coaster Furniture products

Wall-hung mirrors, art

Firepit installation

Futons and Klik Klaks
Customer assembly products may vary, so we will do our best to indicate when assembly is required.

Will the delivery personnel pull their truck into my driveway?

Our delivery personnel typically park on the street. If you have specific instructions, please inform our team prior to delivery at (515) 276-2772

Will the delivery personnel bring the furniture into my home?

If you have chosen our In-Home Delivery service, our delivery personnel will bring your new furniture into your home to the room of your choice completely assembled with the exception of certain items that are marked as Customer Assembly Required.
Please note: Our other delivery options do not include this service and not all products can be assembled by Homemakers.

Will the drivers move pre-existing furniture in my house?

No, due to liability issues drivers cannot move your existing furniture. This must be done prior to delivery.

Can the delivery personnel remove my old furniture?

We don't provide this service. However, we will remove your old mattress and box spring/foundation if we are delivering a new set and you have chosen the option prior to checkout. Ask our Retail Consultants for more details.
Please note: Our delivery personnel reserve the right to refuse mattress removal if the mattress is determined to be unsanitary.

Will the delivery personnel remove their shoes before entering my home?

For the protection of your home and the safety of our employees, our delivery personnel are required to wear shoes without shoe coverings at all times.

Do I need to be home for the delivery?

For large items, we require someone over the age of 18 to be present at the time of delivery. If there is nobody present, we will contact you to arrange a new delivery date. Standard shipping items (parcel items) will be delivered without a signature.

What if I need to change my delivery date?

Please contact us as soon as possible to change your delivery date.
Please note: we require at least three days notice to reschedule as furniture will be prepped and loaded after that time.
