Raw models feature a directly-colored exoskeleton for a shorter build time & reduced cost. Raws are sealed with a nano coating for durability & playability & feature a slightly textured surface. Built by the exact same team to the same high quality standards, Raw-finish Aristides Guitars are striking, dependable workhorses with a unique character all their own.

The Aristides Standard Series are precision-tuned instruments both fueled by advanced design innovations & crafted with the intense attention to detail of traditional guitar building. When you pick one up you’ll feel right at home, but notice huge improvements. This design was originally developed for the 7-string 070 model, which launched in 2013 to widespread critical acclaim. Its comfortable neck, amazing upper fret access, & elegant body carves quickly made it a favorite among discerning guitarists looking for a highly-playable instrument with balanced tone & rich sustain. Your one stop shop for clarity! We’ve found Arium’s sonic properties to be particularly well suited to bass frequencies, as evidenced by our basses & even our 9 string model. That’s why 080 is perfect for demanding players who want to tune low but still hear every note. Whether you’re tuning to F# or even lower,  080 will faithfully reproduce what you play in that register. You have to hear it for yourself.

Aristides’ multiscale S Series models are designed for clarity & precision playing across all genres of music. While the 080S model was first developed to cater to the needs of 8 string guitarists, the 060S & 070S were then released to extend those benefits to everyone. You will notice an increased clarity across large chords, better sustain on the low strings, an increased comfort in your fretting hand, & of course more clarity & intonation range when tuning down. Barre chords remain effortless, the lower horn has been adjusted for even further improved fret access, & a custom Hantug tremolo is available in addition to a traditional hardtail bridge as well as the custom Aristides Guitars EverTune. While we were developing our first multiscale instruments, the 080S was our first priority; but when 060S was released it quickly became a fan-favorite & cornerstone of our lineup. We can see why! The 060S makes subtle but powerful tweaks to the acclaimed 060 which provide huge benefits while remaining approachable. The multiscale design including scale lengths, neutral fret placement, body offset, & more were carefully chosen to create a balanced instrument that will not feel unfamiliar, yet improves your playing experience across the board.

070S set the new standard for modern 7 string guitars. While our proprietary material Arium was already renowned for its clarity in lower registers,  a multiscale design took that definition to the next level. Seeing widespread use with international touring & recording guitarists, the multiscale 070S features a variety of pickup layouts & even a tremolo option, making it the ideal instrument for a wide variety of players & genres.

Our first multiscale model! 080s was developed to improve the 8 string experience with comfortable treble strings for soloing & clean passages while maintaining a tight & clear low end with an even longer scale length than our traditional 080. You will notice a very balanced sound across the entire fretboard; the notes have a piano-like timbre. Another goal was “sizing down” the feel of the guitar for improved playability – we often hear “it feels like a 7 string!”

A true modern ergonomic guitar needs to leverage 3 things: an idealized ergonomic headless guitar design, skilled luthiers to build it to the highest standards, & a material that goes beyond the sonic & material limitations of wood. The H/07 is so light & compact that it’s easy to forget about the extra string – until of course you hear that clear B (or lower!) for yourself. H/09 is a total passion project. After our headless series debuted, we received an increasing number of requests from friends & artists for a 9 string. It was a daunting task – there are a lot of challenges with 9 string guitars! “Can we really create a balanced & usable 9 string? Will anyone buy it?” Our design team took it as a challenge & we could not be more proud of the results. Feedback on the H/09 has been fabulous, & hearing the huge range of music being made on them in the wild is inspiring. H/09 is a must-try if you’re looking to push the boundaries of your creativity while keeping your instrument versatile & comfortable in all registers.
