[H1] OUR MISSION IS TO LEAVE THE WORLD BETTER THAN WE FOUND IT. Donate Now Our mission is simple: [H3] TO LEAVE THE WORLD BETTER THAN WE FOUND IT. Since we began sharing stories online in 2015, one of our guiding principles has been to use our platform to create good — both in our local communities and for the world at large. Critical Role Foundation is our way of continuing this mission in a meaningful way. Critical Role Foundation selects and partners with outstanding non-profit organizations that carry the same values as we do and we work closely alongside each of our partners to ensure that every dollar raised is going toward programs and projects that are changing the world for the better. Critical Role Foundation is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is 100% tax deductible in the United States. [H3] CURRENT FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN Your donation, after our projected 8.5% admin fee and our 10% emergency fund allocation, will be used to create grants that are split equally between the following non-profit organizations, which are longtime friends of Critical Role: ➤ 826LA, which helps unlock creativity for children in under-resourced communities through creative education ➤ Red Nose Day, which helps eradicate childhood poverty ➤ The Pablove Foundation, which offers grants to scientists on the forefront of ending childhood cancer and provides photography classes for children with cancer ➤ OutRight Action International, which works to protect the rights of LGBTQIA+ people worldwide ➤ First Nations Development Institute, which improves economic conditions for Native Americans through grants, technical assistance, and advocacy & policy ➤ Shanti Bhavan, which is a school for children from the lowest socioeconomic classes in India that aims to break the cycle of generational poverty through an approach that is centered in academics, leadership, and values ➤ NCWIT, equips its community of nearly 1,600 universities, companies, non-profits, and government organizations nationwide with resources for recruiting, retaining, and advancing women from K–12 and higher education through industry and entrepreneurial careers in computing and technology (last updated August 7, 2025) Donate Now [H3] HOW TO HELP You can make a one-time only donation to CRF or you can donate on a monthly basis if you prefer to have an automatic withdrawal. Monthly donations are magic and donating just a bit every month can really add up and help us make an even bigger impact. And, of course, your donations are tax deductible in the United States. If you don’t have extra cash to spare, you can still support our mission! Sharing our campaigns on social media and spreading the word about Critical Role Foundation with your loved ones is also incredibly impactful and an easy way to show your support. You can also look incredibly stylish while supporting CRF too, as a portion of sales from every one of our bad ass Critical Role Foundation tees, hats, or pins goes directly to CRF. You can pick up these up from any of the Critical Role online shops. ➤ US: shop.critrole.com ➤ UK: shop.critrole.co.uk ➤ CA: canada.critrole.com ➤ AU: shop.critrole.com.au However you decide to support the Critical Role Foundation contributes greatly to our mission to do whatever we can to help improve the world around us. We cannot thank you enough for sharing our campaigns, donating, and being part of a movement to create positive change. Donate Now [H3] HOW IT WORKS Step 1: Your donation to the Critical Role Foundation is allocated into a special fund that is owned and operated by CRF. Step 2: These funds are then distributed through grants to our partner non-profit organizations. Each of our partner non-profit organizations have been fully vetted and have gone through an extensive application process to ensure that they’re reputable, valid 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in the United States, and have values that align with ours. Step 3: This grant is then utilized by our partner non-profit organizations to fund the programs and projects that support our mission statement. Step 4: After a grant has been made to our partner organization, we keep in close contact with them to help shape the projects that the CRF community has funded and also report back to you, our lovely donors, about the impact that your donation has had. Check out our current campaign section above if you’re interested to learn more about what your donation will support if you donate right now. Should unforeseen circumstances arise with a non-profit partner that disallows them to receive our grant, we will use the funds with another partner or our longtime friends above. Donate Now [H3] WHERE YOUR DONATIONS GO We believe that keeping our operating and administrative costs down helps us maximize the reach of every single dollar donated to Critical Role Foundation. In fact, our goal is to allocate just 8.5% of all donations to administrative fees and operating expenses. The bulk of this money goes to super exciting things like credit and debit card transaction fees and software licenses. We'll adjust this fancy pie chart at the end of each year to reflect our actual spending data. It’s also important for us to be prepared for the very uncertain future and as we all know, anything can happen. So, along with supporting an amazing cause with each donation, we have also created an emergency fund within CRF. In fact, 10% of all donations received are allocated to an emergency fund, which we’ll use to provide financial help in the event of unforeseen emergencies, like natural disasters (hurricane, fire, and other unforeseen tragedies). This allows CRF and the Critical Role community to provide urgent aid quickly and when it’s needed the most. [H3] Previous Fundraising Campaigns [H4] 2025 California Wildfire Fundraiser The wildfires surrounding Los Angeles have devastated our local community. Families across the region have lost homes, jobs, and places they’ve held dear. The road to recovery is long—but together, we were able to help. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise $410,869.29 to benefit local wildfire relief efforts. Every single dollar (less admin fees) was evenly split between the following organizations: California Community Foundation / Wildfire Recovery Fund Latino Community Foundation / California Wildfire Relief Fund LA Fire Department Foundation / LAFD Wildfire Emergency To rally support, our team produced a special non-canon one-shot, Freaky Thursday, which aired live on January 30th across Beacon, Twitch, and YouTube. In true Critical Role fashion, donations during the stream fueled chaos and order alike—affecting the game in real-time through boons, banes, and surprise player swaps. It was wild. It was heartfelt. And it made a real impact. Special thanks to Roleplay Relay for helping by running a Daggerheart mini-campaign called CharityHeart, contributing a little over $24K towards our fundraiser. [H4] Red Nose Day With Sam Richardson and Tony Hale For #GivingTuesday 2023, we joined forces with Red Nose Day for another special choose their adventure-style one-shot that was created based on how our donors tipped the story scales. And, special for 2023, our studio was blessed by some of our favorite guests to date, Sam Richardson and Tony Hale! Watch our very special one-shot with Sam and Tony right here. [H4] Red Nose Day & Stephen Colbert In early 2022, we had the honor of teaming up again with our wonderful friends at Red Nose Day for a special fundraiser to help end childhood poverty. And, joining us for this special adventure was none other than the one, the only, Stephen Colbert! You can check out our very special one-shot with Stephen right here (and you can also check out our very FIRST adventure with Stephen to benefit Red Nose Day here). [H4] Shanti Bhavan In September, 2021, CRF launched a special fundraiser with the amazing admins and educators at Shanti Bhavan in India. Since 1997, Shanti Bhavan has educated hundreds of children from the lowest socioeconomic classes in India, and has provided them with cost-free housing, leadership training, and advanced curriculum to empower them break out of generational cycles of poverty and create a lasting impact for many generations to come. In fact, 95% of the student population at Shanti Bhavan is from the lowest caste in India, with 60% arriving from rural villages. Each student’s family earns less than $2 USD per day. Our goal was set at $160,000, which will allow Shanti Bhavan to build a brand new girls' dormitory AND finish funding for their incredible music program. We officially hit out goal in October 2021 and construction of the girls' dormitory is expected to begin in early 2022. [H4] 826LA In April, 2021, we launched a very cool fundraising campaign with our longstanding friends at 826LA to build out a Writers's Room at Venice High School. We were able to hit our fundraising goal of $150,000 in less than two months thanks to your overwhelming generosity. This Writer's Room is scheduled to open to high school students in Spring 2022 and we'll provide more updates just as soon as we can. [H4] FIRST NATIONS The impact that COVID-19 has had on Native American communities is a true tragedy and Critical Role Foundation, in partnership with First Nations, began raising money in late September 2020 to revive the Native Youth & Culture Fund. Cultural preservation and education is vital to vibrant communities and the money that we raised helps strengthens and renews cultural and spiritual practices, beliefs and values by engaging youth and elders in activities that demonstrate methods for documenting traditional ecological knowledge systems and their related practices and beliefs, increases youth leadership through mentorship programs, and increase access to cultural customs and beliefs as a means of reviving or preserving tribal language, arts, history or other culturally relevant topics. Our final fundraising goal was $200,000 which we achieved in early November 2020, which has allowed us to fund EIGHT programs for the entire year. These programs include: Zuni Pueblo Cochiti Pueblo Yuchi Language Project Wôpanâak Language Reclamation Project One Positive Thing in Kiana The Hanalei River Heritage Foundation K’idadiilyehii Youth Leadership Program Children of the Setting Sun [H3] PREVIOUS EMERGENCY FUND GRANTS Our emergency fund allows CRF to issue grants to other nonprofits when they need assistance the most -- in times of emergency, disaster, and crisis. Each of these organizations is fully vetted by Critical Role Foundation and we strongly suggest supporting these organizations on your own (or, looking for organizations that are doing incredible work within your own communities to address emergencies as they happen). She is whip smart and sharp as a tack, but doesn’t always recognize the danger that her brash personality puts her in. She is dedicated to the cause of the Penteveral, in which any who wish may study the arcane arts, and is incensed by the push of the Houses into her school. Conflicted as to his future, Wick holds on tightly to his hopeful attitude and desire to do good in the world – even if his family is less inclined to such positivity. Now that his world is upside-down, Wick has set out to rediscover himself, determined to remain a shining light, no matter what darkness he faces. (Art by Loren Hontanilla & Hannah Friederichs) [IMG: Occtis Tachonis] Occtis Tachonis Player: Alexander Ward || Pronouns: he/him || Species: Human/Hollow One - Occtis is the eighth son of House Tachonis, but is considered a pariah due to his lack of sorcerous ability. He was sent to the Penteveral as a teenager to learn magic with the arcanists, turning him into a bit of a rebel – though he retained his family’s interest in the realm of death and undeath, showcased in his creation of his undead fox, Pincushion. He is fairly timid and inexperienced with life, but is learning more about the world on his travels with Thaisha Lloy. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 1426 businesses audited.
Critical Role has 19.3 points less BS than the average for Arts, Culture & Entertainment.
Arts, Culture & Entertainment BS: Critical Role (critrole.com)
This is a benchmark for low-BS content in the entertainment sector. It effectively replaces ‘marketing magic’ with massive amounts of proprietary lore, transparent financial data, and a real-time programming calendar that proves the organization is exactly what it claims to be.
1. Remove the empty H4 ‘Title’, H5 ‘Artist’, and H6 ‘Current track’ placeholders from the site template to clean up the heading hierarchy. 2. Integrate ‘Person’ schema for the Board of Directors and primary cast members to link their named credits to their professional digital footprints. 3. Add direct outbound links to the IRS 990 filings or third-party charity evaluators like Charity Navigator to further bolster the Foundation’s transparency. 4. Ensure the ‘Latest Products’ H2 section on the Campaign 4 page is populated with specific items to avoid the appearance of a template placeholder.
The website perfectly aligns with the Arts, Culture & Entertainment category, specifically within the multidisciplinary storytelling and digital media sub-sectors. The content provides exhaustive evidence of a creative ecosystem spanning live shows, tabletop RPG broadcasts, charitable foundations, and digital publishing.
“The low score of 13 is driven by the extreme specificity of the content and the high level of financial transparency regarding charitable activities. Small penalties were applied for minor template residues (empty headings) and a lack of verified external links for the numeric review counts provided in the metadata.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Critical Role, captured on May 26, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to Critical Role: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
