[H1] threadlocker solutions
[H5] what to consider when choosing threadlockers

Blue Threadlocker

Red Threadlocker

Orange Threadlocker

[H5] Removability

Bolt removability is dependent on strength of hold needed & if you need easy access to remove the bolt in the future. High Strength requires the use of Heat to help remove the bolt.

[H5] Bolt Size

Size of the bolt impacts how much strength is needed to hold due to the contact area of the bolt & the threadlocker. A large bolt requires higher strength due to the large contact area.

[H5] Temperature

Temperature range the bolt may see impacts the melting point of thread-lockers. Threadlockers cure as a thremoset plastic and certain applications require higher temperature resistance than standard threadlockers resist.

[H5] Sealing

Some high vibration applications could benefit from both threadlocker and
thread sealant. Though the mixing of the two is not recommended, Permatex has Seal & Lock that has both thread sealant and threadlocker characteristics.

[H2] Explore Our Threadlockers

Use our interactive Threadlocker Selection Chart to identify which Threadlocker is right for your application. From small mounting screws to rocker studs and more, we help you identify which Threadlocker is best for your application

Will this bolt experience temperatures over 500 F? Medium Strength Blue Threadlocker is easiest to remove with hand tools. High Strength Removable Orange Threadlocker is 3x stronger than blue but can still be removed with hand tools. High Strength Red is for bolts you will not need to remove in the future as this can only be removed with localized heat.

What color Threadlocker should I use?
Permatex High Strength Removable Orange Threadlocker is a hybrid formula that combines the strength of Red threadlocker with the removability of Blue Threadlocker. Orange Threadlocker is ideal for modern day engine bays with a great deal of lightweight components and high vibration applications. Unlike traditional Red Threadlocker, Orange Threadlocker can be removed with hand tools when extra force is applied.

What is the cure time for threadlockers?
Threadlocker has a fixture time of approximately 20 minutes without a Primer/Activator (Surface Prep 24163), approximately 5 minutes with a Primer/Activator (Surface Prep 24163). Full time to cure is 24 hours

How do I remove bolts after using threadlocker?
For hand-tool removable threadlockers you should be able to just loosen the fasteners, If you are having issues loosening you may need to use heat on the connection. Heat the connection to approximately 450°F (232°C). If using High strength heat to remove, heat the connection to approximately 500°F (260°C) to break the bond.

Where should I use threadlocker?
We can use threadlocker on Active or Inactive metals. Inactive metals will need the use of a Primer/Activator (Surface Prep 24163). Threadlocker can be used on nuts, bolts, studs, housings, screws.

Yes, You need to lubricate the metal to metal moving parts in your brake system such as: Slide Pins, Bushings, Abutment clips where the pad rides, backing plates

Can you use any lubricant on Brakes?
No brake lubricant is required for brake systems and applications to withstand high temperatures that will burn, oxidize and add debris to the brake system and cause damage.

How much brake lubricant do I use?
You want to use a small amount or a thin layer on the parts. Using too much can get the lubricant in places where we do not want it and is a waste of lubricant.

Where should I avoid putting brake lubricant?
You should avoid getting lubricant on the friction surface of the brake pad or shoe, and the rotor or drum

What type of lubricant should I use to lubricate my brakes?
You want to use a lubricant specifically designed for brake systems. Brake lubricant needs to be high temperature and long lasting. Synthetic and Silicone are two of the most common types.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

https://permatex.com 📍 Industry: Automotive Repair & Car Services
13 BS / 100

This site is a technical powerhouse that treats its visitors like professionals rather than marketing targets. It replaces typical automotive service fluff with actionable engineering data and specific application protocols. It is a benchmark for high-substance, low-BS industrial communication.

To reach a near-zero score, the site should include direct links to ASTM test results for the 99% noise reduction claims. Additionally, integrating the ‘Team Permatex’ members into Person schema would verify the ‘Proven by Pros’ narrative. Finally, adding ‘Last Updated’ stamps to the ‘Pro Tips’ to ensure technical advice matches current 2026 vehicle specifications would eliminate stale-content risks.

The site aligns perfectly with the Automotive Repair & Car Services sector by providing critical chemical solutions and technical application guides. It functions as a specialized knowledge hub for technicians, moving beyond simple product sales into technical education.

“The score of 13 is primarily driven by small penalties in Trust and Proof and Commodity Fingerprint. Specifically, the display of review counts without direct third-party verification links and the use of standard corporate 'About Us' template structures prevented a lower score. However, the Information Density and Semantic Coherence pillars performed near perfectly.”
