How to prepare for microblading

[H3] Preparing for a Microblading session is super simple!
Always choose a reputable Microblading studio like Image Beauty Salon.You should speak to your doctor and Suzie if you need to take aspirin, ibuprofen or other blood-thinning medications. Blood thinners can lengthen the bleeding after the procedure. Avoid drinking alcohol or excessive caffeine for 24 hours before and after your appointment - this helps reduce the bleeding. Sun exposure and tanning are to be avoided for a week before and after the Microblading session, as this can change the colour and slow the healing process. Make sure to arrive with clean skin, although your eyebrows will be prepared by Suzie ahead of the Microblading. Make sure to have a consultation before booking an appointment so you can chat with Suzie. You can discuss worries, allergies, medical conditions and general lifestyle things that may impact your experience.

What can I expect at my appointment?

Microblading is fast becoming one of the most popular cosmetic procedures, but knowing what you can expect during the procedure is essential. With Image Beauty, our specialist brow technician Suzie will ensure you are well-prepared. Here are a couple of things to expect during your Microblading procedure. Suzie will discuss what to expect and what you wish regarding colour and shape. You'll be consulted about allergies and medical conditions, and they'll look at your natural brows to see what suits you best. Your new eyebrow shape will be drawn with a specialist tool. The customised profile considers your natural brow shape - so you end up with a beautiful, natural-looking brow. The Microblading will consist of a handheld tool with small strokes to create natural-looking hair lines on the skin. Suzie will expertly place the strokes to follow the natural growth pattern of your eyebrow hair. After each stroke, the pigment will be applied to the area to ensure the colour is consistent and even. All excess pigment is carefully wiped away, and you will be able to see the progress of the brow. Once Suzie is finished, she will talk you through some aftercare instructions; you will need to buy some healing balm to ensure a fast healing process.The Microblading procedure takes up to 1 hour 15 to complete, and afterwards, there may be some swelling and redness that usually goes after 1 hour.

How long does Microblading last?

Microblading is semi-permanent, meaning that it will fade over time. But you can book top-ups when you need them. There are a couple of things that can change the length of time that your Microblading will last. Usually, you can expect Microbladed eyebrows to last between 1-3 years. However, to ensure they look fresh and well-maintained, you might be better off getting touch-ups and maintenance every 6-12 months following your final appointment. Here are some things that can affect how long Microblading last: People with oily skin experience quicker fading than those with normal to dry skin.If you often use tanning beds or spend a lot of time in the sun, this may fade the pigment quickly. This is why SPF is recommended over your brows.With the proper aftercare, such as no picking or disturbing the scabs and following the instructions from your technician, you will extend the life of your Microblading. Your skincare routine will also impact your brows' longevity- some acids, chemical peels, and exfoliants will fade the pigment more quickly.

Is it Microblading painful?

Most people who have Microblading done would describe the procedure as uncomfortable but not necessarily painful. The sensation is often described as a slight stinging or scratching sensation. Some pressure is also applied to the brows, which can be felt. Following the procedure, there may be some redness in the area and some swelling, too - however, these symptoms are usually gone completely within 24 hours.

Is Microblading the same as a tattoo?

Tattooing and Microblading are similar, but there are some significant differences. Traditional tattooing and Microblading use different guns, and the ink depth is different too. For Microblading, a specialised tool for creating fine hair-like strokes is used, and the pigment only goes to the upper layers of the skin. This is why Microblading is considered to be a semi-permanent result. Traditional tattoo guns push the pigment deep into the skin and are designed to last a lifetime.

Who can't have the treatment?

While Microblading is safe for many people, there are a few exceptions - it is always worth calling the salon and having a chat, though, if you are in any doubt. The following candidates are not suitable for Microblading:People who have allergies to any of the pigments used in Microblading - sometimes this may not be known in advance.People with skin conditions or open wounds, sunburn, psoriasis or eczema. Always wait until your skin is fully healed before booking an appointment. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as the hormonal changes can impact the healing process and impact the pigment. Certain medical conditions and medications cause excessive bleeding, skin diseases, and autoimmune disorders. Acne medication and blood thinners are two common medications that can cause scarring and bleeding.

Over time, lips can lose volume, definition and colour. The outline of your lips can start to get lost. With the help of semi-permanent makeup at Image, we can restore and renew your look with new lips!

[H2] HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Allow 2 hours for Lip blush. You will arrive 20 minutes prior for numbing cream application. 1.5 hours for the review session (still arriving 20 mins prior).

[H2] DOES IT HURT?
A topical numbing cream is applied to your lips beforehand. Throughout the treatment, another numbing agent is used. Most clients will experience discomfort but not pain.

[H2] IS THERE A WIDE RANGE OF COLOURS TO CHOOSE FROM?
Amber has a range of different colours and shade from nudes to reds to pinks! She will customise a colour to suit your skin tone and personal preference! It is a good idea to bring your favourite lipstick to help with the colour choice!
Everyones lips have a different undertones which will make results slightly differ. Lip Blush can only add more colour, define and brighten existing lip tissue.
​You can slightly intensify your colour on your second session if wanted.
[H2] HOW WILL I LOOK AFTERWARDS?
Straight after the treatment, the colour will be very intense, like wearing lipstick! This is not your true colour, once healed, the colour lightens between 40-60%. Slight swelling of the lips may appear as the skin has been abraded but this will all settle within a few days.

[H2] CAN I HAVE LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE LIP FILLERS?
Yes. You just may experience slightly more swelling than others. You must allow 4 weeks in between lip injections and Lip Blush to allow healing time.

[H2] OTHER GENERAL ADVICE
Please keep your lips as hydrated as you can before your treatment. It is also beneficial to slightly exfoliate your lips a few days prior to create the perfect base for your lip blush. It is essential to hydrate your lips after the treatment. You will need to purchase a healing balm from Image on the day of your treatment which is £18.
If you have ever suffered with cold sores, medication prior to treatment is advised to prevent an outbreak occur.

Cavitation is a technology which uses a low frequency ultrasound wave to produce a wave of pressure. This wave, a fat cell membrane is unable to withstand – resulting in the fat cell disintegrating into a liquid state. Fat Freezing (Cryolipolysis)
Cryolipolysis is a treatment for stubborn pockets of fat. It is a completely seperate treatment from the non-surgical 3 in 1 treatment.If you are someone who is happy with their overall size, although struggle with one particular handful of fat – fat freezing can help to get rid of it!Fat Freezing works by using a vacuum to pull the pocket into the cup. The temperature of the cup is then reduces to between -5 to -10 degrees. At this temperature, the fat will be unable to withstand the cold and will denature. After the treatment, your body will naturally remove any frozen fat through your system.Most clients will only require one session of fat freezing to flatten their pocket! Are there any side effects?

There are no unwanted side effects from the treatments - They are completely non surgical! You may experience slight redness and tenderness, especially after fat freezing, but these are only temporary! A full consultation is given to discuss contra-indications.

What can I expect at my appointment?

Amber will give a full, in depth consultation prior to treatment to discuss your options an advise the best treatment plan. For courses of inch loss and tightening treatments, measurements and pictures are taken at the start and the end of the course to see the amazing results! During any treatment of 3D Lipo, you will be laying on the bed with the machine being used on the area of concern by our specialist. All procedures are pain free.

Treatment plans will be discussed on your consultation but usually courses of 8 sessions are recommended for inch loss and skin tightening. Maintenance sessions may be recommended after the course. Stubborn pockets treated with fat freezing may be treated with a one off session.
