[H2] FAQ's

We're here to help you and your little rider get the most out of your Strider bike journey. Our FAQs are designed to provide quick and easy answers to help you with everything from choosing the right bike to maintenance tips.

Getting Started

[H3] What is a balance bike?
A balance bike is a two-wheeled bike without pedals or training wheels. It teaches children to master the most critical skill for riding—balance—by using their feet to stride and glide. This method prepares them for a pedal bike without the struggle, with many children learning to ride on their own up to two years earlier than those who use traditional methods.

[H3] Why should I avoid using training wheels?
Training wheels are often a source of frustration and confusion for kids. They prevent children from developing the most critical skill needed to ride a bike: balance. Training wheels create a false sense of security, teaching kids to rely on the wheels for stability, which is a skill they must un-learn later. A balance bike teaches balance from day one, setting kids up for a seamless transition to a pedal bike without ever needing training wheels.

[H3] Which Strider bike is right for my child?
The best bike depends on your child’s age, size, and skill level. Our 2-in-1 Rocking Bike is perfect for babies 6-18 months. The Strider 12 Sport is ideal for toddlers 1-4 years old. For older children or those ready to transition to pedaling, the Strider 14x (ages 3-6) is the perfect solution. To find your child's perfect match, we recommend our bike quiz to help guide you based on their unique needs and adventurous spirit.

[H3] What are the developmental phases of riding a Strider bike?
The Strider journey follows a three-phase progression: Basic Self-Balanced Riding, where kids learn to stride and find their center of gravity; Advanced Self-Balanced Riding, where they master gliding, standing, and turning; and finally, Independent Balanced Pedaling, which is the low-stress transition to a pedal bike.

[H3] What is the correct seat height for a Strider bike?
To find the right fit, the child's feet should be flat on the ground with a slight bend in their knees while seated. This allows them to comfortably walk, stride, and stop with their feet.

[H3] What is the correct handlebar height for a Strider bike?
A good starting point is to set the handlebar height relative to the saddle. If the seat is at its lowest setting, set the handlebar to its lowest setting. Adjust the handlebar reach so the child's elbows have a slight bend while they are seated comfortably. This ensures your child feels confident and in control, and it's easy to adjust as they grow.

Shipping & Returns

[H3] What is your return policy?
Strider does not pay for shipping on returns. Strider can only accept products that were purchased directly from our online store. If you purchased a Strider product through a local shop, box store or different online site (including Amazon), you will need to honor their return policy.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Have your Sales Order ready when you contact Customer Service via phone or email.
2. You will receive an RMA (Return Merchandize Authorization) from our team, then clearly mark it on the returned package. Otherwise, we don’t know who to refund.
3. Ship the product back to Strider Headquarters using the carrier of your choice. Insurance is encouraged. Again, we do not provide return labels or pay for return shipping costs.
4. Patiently wait for the refund to your original payment method.

Product Information

[H3] What is the difference between the 12 sport and 12 pro?
The Strider 12 Sport is the most popular Strider bike sold around the world. It has a lightweight steel frame, along with a padded seat and adjustable post that grows with your child. The approximate age range is 1 to 4 years, or an inseam range of 12-18 inches. The Sport features performance footrests, a handlebar pad, ultralight wheels, and mini grips.
The Strider 12 Pro has the same features of the sport, but comes in al all-aluminum frame! This makes the pro the lightest Strider!
The difference is 1000% for the rider! A lighter bike leads to a kiddo being more tempted to pick it up on their own. While it’s only a 1-pound difference to grown-ups, every extra pound makes it difficult for a small child to carry or maneuver. We want all a kiddo’s effort to focus on learning to ride, not lugging around a heavy bike.

[H3] What is the difference between the Strider 12 and the 14x?
What is the difference between the Strider 12 and the 14x? The Strider 12 inch bikes are our original balance bikes for ages 1-4, perfect for building foundational skills. The Strider 14x is a larger, "grow-with-me" bike for ages 3-6 that starts as a balance bike and easily converts to a pedal bike with the included Easy-Ride Pedal Kit.

[H3] Do Strider bikes have brakes?
Our Strider 14x has a foot-operated coaster brake for easy stopping. For our smaller Strider 12 models, children learn to stop naturally by using their feet.

[H3] What kind of tires do Strider bikes have?
Our Strider 12 bikes come with foam tires that are lightweight and puncture-proof. For a smoother, more cushioned ride, you can easily upgrade to our air-filled High Traction wheels. The Strider 14x and 20x models come equipped with air-filled tires for enhanced performance. You can even customize your child's bike with our Bike Builder, choosing these high-performance tires and other accessories to perfectly match their riding style.

Assembly & Maintenance

[H3] Is assembly difficult?
No, assembly is quick and straightforward. Strider bikes arrive 90% assembled, and you typically only need to attach the handlebars and wheels. We provide Quick-Start Setup Guides and assembly videos to walk you through it.

[H3] How do I clean and care for my Strider bike?
Simply wipe the bike down with a damp cloth and mild soap. Be sure to dry it completely to prevent rust. For bikes with air-filled tires, check the PSI regularly to ensure a smooth ride.

[H3] Return Policy

[H3] Track Your Package

The typical transit for packages is 1-6 business days (does not include weekends or holidays) once it leaves the Strider warehouse. The holiday season, bad weather, construction zones and the Loch Ness monster may delay your delivery so please plan accordingly.
Once processed, you will receive an email with the tracking number. This email comes from an automated system and is most likely in your junk mail folder, so be sure to check that before reaching out to customer service. Once you have the tracking number, please keep an eye on the package to know when it’ll arrive to prevent porch pirates from taking your beloved Strider gear. Most carriers have apps that can help you track these packages and sometimes you can request to hold the item at a safe pickup point.
If your product has a manufacture issue, then please submit a warranty claim and we’ll do our best to correct the problem or send a replacement: https://striderbikes.com/warranty/
[H3] Lost Packages

Strider is not responsible for lost packages. If the tracking for your package says it was delivered but you cannot find the item, please check with your neighbor and around your property.
Sometimes delivery people will try to “hide” the item so it’s not obvious you just purchased something amazing. If still unable to locate the package, please file a claim with the shipping carrier.

[H3] Expedited Shipping

Please call Customer Service for a shipping estimate. You may reach us at (605) 342-0266.
The cost of expedited shipping is based on the product you purchase, the shipping address and how quickly you need it to arrive. Strider does not cover expedited shipping fees; you will be responsible for covering those additional fees. Be prepared to pay a lot. Also, even when you pay a lot, delivery is not guaranteed and cannot be reimbursed.
[H3] APO & FPO Address Shipping

Shipping to APO and FPO addresses takes additional steps. You will need to contact Strider Headquarters for details at (605) 342-0266.
[H3] International Shipping

We do not ship outside of the United States, but we have several authorized international sellers around the world that can help you with your two-wheeled needs. Click here to find an international seller near you.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15

Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Add an ‘Our Story’ page that names the founder and links to their LinkedIn to bridge the identity gap. Replace the internally hosted review quotes on the homepage with a widget from a third-party verified platform. Include a link to a press release or milestone report that substantiates the ’10 million kids’ claim. Expand the ‘Adaptive Program’ section with 1-2 specific case studies or partnership names to reinforce the ‘More than a Bike’ value proposition.

The site perfectly aligns with the Ecommerce and Online Retail category, specifically focusing on the niche of developmental sporting goods for children. The content is deeply rooted in product specifications, assembly guides, and shipping logistics characteristic of a direct-to-consumer brand.

“The score is driven primarily by the lack of third-party verification for large-scale performance claims (Step 3) and the missing Person schema for brand leadership (Step 5). The site scored a perfect 0 in Semantic Coherence due to excellent alignment between marketing promises and technical sub-page content.”
