28″/700C/29er, 27.5″, and 26″ sizes are available for MAX+ or MAX++ Kits Only, with options for both standard fitting and thru axle configurations.

[H4] Can I fold my folding bike with it installed?
Yes, absolutely. With either the MAX or MAX+/MAX++ Kits, you can mount the Kit to either the handlebar or the front luggage block and still fold your Brompton as usual.
If you choose to mount it on the handlebars facing forward, please note that you'll need to unclip the MAX+ or MAX++ before folding, due to their larger size. The standard MAX can remain clipped in when folding, as it's more compact.
We also offer Bro Blocks, which let you mount the Kit to the front luggage block for improved weight distribution and handling.

[H4] How long does the kit take to install?
Most of our customers with basic bike experience, such as changing tyres and inner tubes, usually complete the installation in around 30 minutes. If you're less familiar with bike maintenance, it may take 45 to 60 minutes depending on your bike and the kit.

[H4] Does the MAX+ Kit work better in colder temperatures?
You will be fine to use your Swytch bike on the occasional Winter day but we recommend not to frequently ride it in below -5 degrees Celsius. Our Quality Control Testing did include performance tests at low temperatures. However, all lithium-ion batteries are impacted by temperature. You may have experienced this phenomenon if you've left a mobile phone or laptop in a car at night and found it totally drained the next morning. This is due to a chemical reaction caused by the cold resulting in faster discharge and/or a corresponding loss of battery life.
Extremities in weather conditions may affect the Power Pack. The kit should not be charged if it is below 0 degrees Celsius and we recommend you do not store the Power Pack below -10 degrees C.

[H4] What happened to the AIR Power Pack option?
As of April 2025, AIR Power Packs are no longer available on our website. However, they remain in stock at over 100 bike shop retailers across the country.

[H4] How do I fit the integrated pedal sensor?
Our instruction manuals provide detailed steps on how to do this; you can find them here. If you're unsure whether your bike is compatible with the integrated pedal sensor, check out our guide here.

[H4] Does the pedal sensor work in all weather conditions?
Yes, but if you're cycling through muddy conditions, make sure to clean the disc and sensor regularly to ensure the magnetic signal is still being detected. Also, keep in mind that mud could shift the disc or sensor, so be sure to secure them tightly with cable ties.

[H4] What does working surface mean on the magnetic disc?
This side of the magnetic disc should face the sensor while you pedal. If it's reversed, the sensor won't function properly.

[H4] My pedal sensor is not working what is the issue?
The most common issue is that the distance between the disc and sensor is either too wide or misaligned. Please refer to the instruction manual for a detailed guide on how the pedal sensor should be fitted. If you have an unusual bike setup with a gap too small to fit the sensor, you can use pliers to remove the pivot plate, reducing the space - this will not void your warranty. “After receiving my Swytch Go kit, my whole cycling experience has changed for the better. The biggest downside of having a non-electric cycle is the uphills, especially when the main purpose of my bike is daily commuting. With the Swytch kit, I don't even feel the incline anymore, and it has reduced my travelling time drastically. The delivery of the kit took longer than initially promised, by a few months. But they assured me it was due to high demand. The only other minor issue with the front motor Go kit is the additional resistance that is encountered when exceeding the set speed limit or when pedaling with the kit switched off. Customer service was exceptionally efficient and quick and helped me solve every issue that I encountered. Additionally, I recommend buying the optional battery pack mount, as you can securely lock the removable battery pack to the frame of your bike with a lock and key system without having to worry about someone stealing it.”

“My experience with Swytch was very good overall. We converted two of our ten or so road bikes to ebikes. One is a '74 Schwinn Paramount and the other is a Rivendell Rambouillet. The conversions were easy enough. The reasons I won't give these kits a solid 5-star review are that the elegant bikes we started with are now rather ugly, with thick wires running all over the place, and the bikes are much, much heavier. I am glad we got the upgraded OLED controls but the displays are hard to read while cycling. There are, however, many upsides. Ordering was simple, help when I ran into a couple of problems was quick and, most important, the kits work well. My wife is 76 with a bad hip and I am 73 with a bad knee and, while we still ride our pure pedal-powered bikes, motorized assistance is welcome on occasion. The main reason for purchasing these Swytch kits was to determine whether it might be worthwhile to pay $6000 or more for purpose-built road ebikes, we did not want to take the plunge if we weren't certain we would like them, and the kits have served that purpose admirably. We now know that we definitely like ebikes; the question today is whether it is worth $12,000 to upgrade to purpose-built ebikes that are lighter and look more elegant and that is a tough call since they might not work any better than our Swytch conversions.”

“With its terrific power boost, the Swytch Go+ breathed new life into my 10-year-old, large-frame bike, making longer trail rides possible again for this aging rider (68). Although not my usual cruising speed, it effortlessly achieves 20 mph and it "flattens" uphill grades, which is helpful here in western Pennsylvania. I got the best-price/longer-wait deal, with the Swytch kit targeted to arrive in September. Disappointingly it didn't surface until October so limited my ability to assemble and get in more than a couple of rides this year. Instructions weren't perfect, but along with online videos, were clear enough to reduce guesswork and figure it out. Harness has a couple of unneeded connectors, adding some clutter to the assembly. Were it not for those few nicks, I'd have given it a 5. Very happy for the bike refresh and highly recommend Swytch to anyone who loves their existing bike and is considering going electric.”

“We took delivery of our Swytchbike conversion kit in July 2024 . It was well packaged and the instructions very clear and easy to follow. I installed it straight away but have waited until now to allow time for a full trial of the kit . It is EXCELLENT!!! We just needed a kit that gave a little boost to give confidence in cycling again. and did not see a need to replace a good pre exiting bike with a full electric heavy weight.. the weight addition from the kit is around ~3Kg so not much... and the range of the Go+ is more than enough for a days cycling. “I love my Swytch conversions I've done two Bromptons. The first has been going strong son early 2020. I've gone over 3000miles on the second Brompton this year. The power is smooth and enough to get up the steepest hills. I ride everywhere in our city daily errands and for pleasure. I also tour, this year the Empire State railtrail in upstate New York. “This was a great way to convert your bike to an e-bike. When the order arrived it was very simple to install on my existing bike and was using it very quickly. It's fun to ride and the product delvers in almost every way. There are only a few things I can point out that would make this a better product and the first one is battery capacity. I ordered the largest battery and it doesn't last as long as it was advertised. On a full charge I can probably get 10 miles at the very most and I wish that it would allow for more. That brings me to the only other thing I would like to see improved and that is the ability to order replacement parts or even extra batteries after purchasing the kit. I broke the speedometer while upgrading some of the parts on the bike and in order to get a replacement for this I had to email customer service and ask them to order it for me and because of miscommunication the part they sent me was the standard speedometer and not the OLED that I wanted so it would be much easier if there was a store you could visit and pick the part you want. I would also love to get an extra battery but don't really want to go through emailing customer service and maybe getting the wrong part. Those are two small things that kept me from giving it 5 stars but if you are looking for an ebike this wont let you down.”

“This Swytch bike is brilliant. I had bought one before and was very happy with it, and was very pleased to see that they had introduced the Swytch GO range at a lower price point, so I ordered another one. A few days in and we're very happy with our new purchase. Fitting was straightforward (with a little help from someone who understands bikes better than I do!), and it rides beautifully. Sure, the battery is larger and heavier that the Swytch Max that I bought previously, but given it's an electric bike, that doesn't matter so much. And it's still a lot lighter than an electric bike! And as the battery can easily be removed, you can choose to go light when you don't need the batter. When you live in a hilly areas like we do, Swytch is really fantastic! Customer service was good, as we were always kept informed of delivery timelines and the kit was delivered within the 6 months timeframe. All in all, very happy and looking forward to some lovely rides on our Swytch kitted bike!”

“The kit works very well. It helps you enjoy your ride, and “enters” softly, you don’t even notice the electric help. It’s not a 5 star rating ( for me a 4.5) for 2 reasons: the autonomy is not as much as stated, and the waiting times have to be really improved. I have been trying to contact the web to get either another kit or an extra battery, but has been imposible. Just getting into a never-ending waiting list. To sum up: it really gets its work done, really worth its price, converting your bike into an E-bike; but if you want to buy, you should take advantage of the season offers they release, when they have stock…”

Once the Kit is successfully installed, turn it on and start pedalling as usual. You’ll notice the red LED on the pedal sensor flashing! This happens as the magnets on the magnetic disc pass by the sensor, signalling to the system that you're pedalling. For this to work properly, make sure the gap is small enough for the magnetic field to be detected.

Step 1

Remove your boring old front wheel, swap the tyre over to the new Swytch motor wheel, built in the exact size to match your bike.

[H3] Attach the pedal sensor
Simply attach the pedal sensor, allowing the Kit to detect when you start and stop pedalling - seamlessly delivering power when you need it.

Step 3
[H3] Secure the Power Pack
Attach the GO Power Pack to the frame of your bike with the easy to use Velcro straps.

For the MAX Power Packs, simply attach the mount to your handle bars and click the Power Pack in place.

How long does installation take?

Installation time depends on your Power Pack option and your personal skills, but it usually takes between 25 to 45 minutes. The GO is much simpler to install, thanks to its all-in-one battery design with velcro connections. If you’ve ever changed a tire, that’s the toughest and most time-consuming part—everything else is pretty straightforward. Our detailed manuals and installation videos also have excellent reviews from customers. And if you run into any issues, our dedicated customer support team is always ready to help!

What tools do I need to install the kit?

You’ll need to use the following tools to install your Kit: Bike Pump, Adjustable Spanner, Ruler, Scissors, Allen Key Set and Tyre Levers. Please note these are not included with your kit.

Do I need to join the waitlist to order?

How long does the pre-order process take?

When you place your initial order, we only require a small deposit to secure your price and delivery date. Following that, you will have approximately 1-2 weeks to complete your order details in our Order Portal. This includes confirming the specific wheel size and any other custom requirements. This process provides ample time to ensure all details are accurately finalised.

Do you offer maintenance services of the Kit?

Swytch do not offer maintenance services; however, with the Swytch Kit, you receive lifetime support from our trained technicians, so you can be confident that assistance is always available if anything goes wrong. To ensure its longevity, we recommend following the guidelines provided in the manual. This includes charging the power pack as instructed, storing it in a cool, room-temperature environment, and avoiding direct sunlight. Yes, the Swytch Kit is 100% road legal in most regions, as it complies with local laws and regulations for e-bikes.

What happens if I run out of battery during a ride?

If you run out of battery during your ride, there’s no need to worry. The system will automatically turn off, and you can continue using the bike as a regular bike. Alternatively, you can carry a spare battery in your backpack to extend your range and swap the batteries when needed.

Does the Swytch Kit include a display or screen for speed and battery tracking?

The Swytch Kit does not come with the display included, but you can add it as an optional accessory through the order portal. The display allows you to select from 5 power levels while cycling and is easily installed on your handlebars.

The Swytch Kit does not require any software or app to be downloaded. You operate the entire kit using the display, if selected. If you don’t have a display, simply turn on the Power Pack and start pedaling—it’s that easy!

Does the Swytch Kit include a throttle option?

Yes, we offer two optional throttle accessories: a Thumb Throttle and a Twist Throttle. Both are compatible with all versions of the Swytch Kit and can be easily added or removed to suit your preference.
Throttle functionality depends on your delivery region and local regulations. For example, in the UK, the throttle operates up to 5mph on its own, then functions as a boost button – meaning you still need to pedal, but activating the throttle delivers maximum power assistance, similar to how a VanMoof bike’s boost button works.

How does the pedal assist system work, and how many levels are there?

The sensors in the Swytch Kit operate using magnets. The magnets on the PAS (Pedal Assist Sensor) ring enable the kit to detect your pedaling cadence. By “cadence,” we mean that the system delivers power when you pedal and stops when you stop pedaling.
The power level can be manually selected on the display, offering five different levels of assistance to suit your needs. If you opt not to include the display when placing your order, the kit comes with a small dongle adapter instead. This adapter allows you to use the kit without the display, with the power level automatically set to assistance level 3.

Can the Swytch Kit be easily removed or switched to another bike?

Yes! You can easily transfer and install the Swytch Kit onto another bike, provided the wheel size is the same. If the new bike requires a different wheel type, please contact our customer service team, and they will be happy to assist you

How does the Swytch Kit impact the handling of my bike?

The Swytch Kit does not negatively impact the handling of the bike. In fact, it helps by providing additional assistance through the front wheel, which pulls you forward as you pedal.

Is the kit waterproof or weather-resistant?

Our Kits are designed to withstand various weather conditions and are rated IP6, meaning it can be used in heavy rain without any issues. However, if the exterior of the power pack sustains cracks or damage, or if the kit is submerged in water for an extended period, it may compromise the waterproofing.
If you encounter any damage to the kit, please reach out to our team with a photo of the damage and an explanation of what occurred, and we’ll assist you accordingly.

What is the warranty period for the Swytch Kit?

We offer a 1-year warranty on all kits, starting from the date of delivery. To activate the warranty, you will need to submit photos or videos of your installed kit for review by our team. Once your kit is onboarded, you gain access to lifetime technical support, which includes personalized 1-to-1 video support calls with our trained technicians to ensure a seamless experience.

The range you can achieve on a fully charged Swytch power pack depends on the specific battery you select. Our power packs offer options ranging from 15-20 miles for the smaller capacity models, up to 45-60 miles for the larger capacity models, ensuring flexibility to suit your needs and preferences.

What is the top speed achievable with the Swytch Kit?

The maximum speed of all our Swytch Kits is 32 km/h (20 mph). However, the kits are pre-configured according to the regulations of the delivery region. For customers in the United Kingdom and Europe, the Swytch Kits are set to a maximum speed of 24 km/h (15 mph) to comply with local laws and regulations.

[H4] Can I fold my folding bike with it installed?
Yes, absolutely. With either the MAX or MAX+/MAX++ Kits, you can mount the Kit to either the handlebar or the front luggage block and still fold your Brompton as usual.
If you choose to mount it on the handlebars facing forward, please note that you'll need to unclip the MAX+ or MAX++ before folding, due to their larger size. The standard MAX can remain clipped in when folding, as it's more compact.
We also offer Bro Blocks, which let you mount the Kit to the front luggage block for improved weight distribution and handling.

[H4] How long does the kit take to install?
Most of our customers with basic bike experience, such as changing tyres and inner tubes, usually complete the installation in around 30 minutes. If you're less familiar with bike maintenance, it may take 45 to 60 minutes depending on your bike and the kit.

[H4] Does the MAX+ Kit work better in colder temperatures?
You will be fine to use your Swytch bike on the occasional Winter day but we recommend not to frequently ride it in below -5 degrees Celsius. Our Quality Control Testing did include performance tests at low temperatures. However, all lithium-ion batteries are impacted by temperature. You may have experienced this phenomenon if you've left a mobile phone or laptop in a car at night and found it totally drained the next morning. This is due to a chemical reaction caused by the cold resulting in faster discharge and/or a corresponding loss of battery life.
Extremities in weather conditions may affect the Power Pack. The kit should not be charged if it is below 0 degrees Celsius and we recommend you do not store the Power Pack below -10 degrees C.

[H4] How do I fit the integrated pedal sensor?
Our instruction manuals provide detailed steps on how to do this; you can find them here. If you're unsure whether your bike is compatible with the integrated pedal sensor, check out our guide here.

[H4] Does the pedal sensor work in all weather conditions?
Yes, but if you're cycling through muddy conditions, make sure to clean the disc and sensor regularly to ensure the magnetic signal is still being detected. Also, keep in mind that mud could shift the disc or sensor, so be sure to secure them tightly with cable ties.

[H4] What does working surface mean on the magnetic disc?
This side of the magnetic disc should face the sensor while you pedal. If it's reversed, the sensor won't function properly.

[H4] My pedal sensor is not working what is the issue?
The most common issue is that the distance between the disc and sensor is either too wide or misaligned. Please refer to the instruction manual for a detailed guide on how the pedal sensor should be fitted. If you have an unusual bike setup with a gap too small to fit the sensor, you can use pliers to remove the pivot plate, reducing the space - this will not void your warranty.
