[H3] Free Shipping! Get FREE SHIPPING on orders $49+! (Total order price must be over $49 AFTER any discounts or rewards points are applied.) Contiguous US states only. [H1] Shipping Information [H3] GENERAL SHIPPING INFO Orders generally ship within 1-3 business days of receipt. Once shipped, orders generally take 2 business days in transit to reach their destination. The default shipping method (UPS Ground Saver, Ground, or 2 Day Air) will depend on your location, but is selected to arrive in 2 transit days to avoid melting. During peak season orders may take an extra 1-3 business days to fulfill. We use UPS to fulfill all shipments, and we currently only ship to the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska. Please note that UPS does not deliver to PO Boxes or APO / FPO addresses. We are unable to ship to PO Boxes or APO / FPO addresses at this time. If you elect to upgrade to UPS Next Day shipping, please note that this will only shorten the transit time once the package has shipped. [H3] SHIPPING CHOCOLATE IN WARM WEATHER Chocolate is easily damaged by heat and sunlight. We take every precaution to ensure your chocolate reaches you in perfect, delicious condition! When temperatures require it, we always include an ice pack and insulation to prevent melting during transit. During warm weather months, we do not ship on Fridays, to avoid chocolate shipments melting over the weekend. During these months, any orders received after 11:59 PM ET on Tuesday may ship the following Monday. We highly recommend shipping your chocolate to an address where someone is available to receive it in a timely fashion in order to avoid any damage. Even sitting out on a porch for a few hours can cause damage in warm weather. Even with every precaution, very warm weather sometimes means we are unable to ship your chocolate as quickly we normally would. We may need to delay your shipment up to a week to avoid a heat wave, or to avoid having it sit in a warm warehouse over the weekend. If your order needs to be held, you will receive an email notification. In some cases, it is simply too hot to ship chocolate. If we cannot fulfill your order in a timely manner because of extreme heat, your order will automatically be cancelled and refunded, and you will receive an email notification. [H3] UPS INFORMATION UPS makes home deliveries Monday through Saturday to residential addresses. No deliveries are made on legal holidays. For more information about UPS, please visit the UPS website. The default shipping method will vary based on the shipping destination, to ensure that packages will generally not be in transit more than 2 days. For faster delivery, we offer Next Day Air shipping, at an additional cost. [H3] INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: At this time, we are only able to ship to destinations in the United States. We do not ship internationally. Email info@tazachocolate.com to find Taza at a store near you! If you are ordering from another country for shipment to an address in the United States, please note that we only accept credit cards that support AVS (address verification system). Many banks outside the United States do not issue cards that support AVS; please contact your bank to verify AVS support on your credit card. We stone grind organic cacao beans into perfectly unrefined, minimally processed chocolate with bold flavor and texture, unlike anything you have ever tasted [H2] HOW IT ALL STARTED Taza founder and CEO Alex Whitmore took his first bite of stone ground chocolate while traveling in Oaxaca, Mexico. He was so inspired by the rustic intensity that he decided to create a chocolate factory back home in Somerville, MA. He learned to hand-carve granite mill stones to make chocolate that is less processed, so our Direct Trade cacao can shine. In 2005, he officially launched Taza with his wife, Kathleen Fulton, who is Taza's Chief Design Officer and designed all of the packaging. [H2] DIRECT TRADE Taza is a pioneer in ethical cacao sourcing. We were the first U.S. chocolate maker to establish a third- party certified Direct Trade Cacao Certification program. We maintain direct relationships with our cacao farmers and pay a premium above the Fair Trade price for their cacao. We partner only with cacao producers who respect the rights of workers and the environment. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 3390 businesses audited.
Taza Chocolate has 17.4 points less BS than the average for Ecommerce & Online Retail.
Ecommerce & Online Retail BS: Taza Chocolate (tazachocolate.com)
Taza Chocolate is a rare example of an Ecommerce site where the marketing signal is almost entirely composed of substance. By focusing on the ‘gritty’ technical reality of their process rather than generic ‘premium’ adjectives, they have effectively neutralized the standard BS patterns of their industry. This is a high-integrity digital footprint that aligns perfectly with its physical manufacturing reality.
To achieve a near-zero BS score, Taza should implement Person schema for Alex Whitmore and Kathleen Fulton to link their names to their professional digital footprints. They should also add an explicit link to the third-party Direct Trade transparency report or certification body within the ‘Direct Trade’ section to provide immediate external validation. Finally, increasing the volume of third-party verified reviews on the homepage would eliminate the minor trust-theatre points currently assessed for low review density.
The website perfectly matches the Ecommerce and Online Retail category with a focus on artisanal food production. The content consistently focuses on product attributes, direct-to-consumer sales, and physical retail integration through their factory store.
“The score of 19 reflects a site with 'Minimal BS.' The few points earned are primarily due to the lack of direct external proof links for the Direct Trade certification in the text snippets and the minor absence of Person schema for the named founders. The site's semantic coherence and information density are exemplary, effectively proving almost every claim made in the hero section.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Taza Chocolate, captured on June 19, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
