SUB-PAGE (https://wilfa.com/blogs/news/wilfa-and-the-waffle-day-how-25-march-became-a-norwegian-waffle-tradition/) Waffle Day 25 March – The Story and Wilfa’s Tips – Wilfa AS
DE, DK, EN, FI, NO, SE [H1] Wilfa and the Waffle Day: how 25 March became a Norwegian waffle tradition [IMG: Wilfa and the Waffle Day: how 25 March became a Norwegian waffle tradition] For many people, 25 March means one thing: the smell of freshly baked waffles, served with sour cream and jam. There’s something about that warm, sweet scent that makes people “accidentally” wander into the kitchen, and waffles have a unique way of bringing friends and family together. [H3] Wilfa helped put waffle day on the map in Norway The Waffle Day is a well-known tradition across the Nordic region, and the date is linked to the Christian Feast of the Annunciation, historically called Vårfrudagen in Norwegian. Over time, the name began to be pronounced quickly, and Vårfrudagen gradually turned into Våffeldagen in Sweden. In Norway, it was Wilfa who breathed new life into the tradition and helped establish it as a day many now associate with cosy waffle moments. “It was Wilfa that made sure the day became a tradition in Norway as well,” says Wilfa’s CEO, Morten Hoff. “Before 2010, very few people here knew the Waffle Day existed,” he adds. [H3] From a date in the calendar to a day Norway can smell The Waffle Day isn’t a modern invention — it has deep historical roots. But it wasn’t until Wilfa began highlighting it in Norway that it truly gained momentum and became a practical, widely recognised day of celebration. Hoff explains why the idea resonated so well: “Waffle makers were a category that really needed revitalising,” he says, thinking back to 2010. And perhaps that’s exactly why the Waffle Day is so easy to love: all you need is a waffle maker. It’s low effort, high enjoyment, and the perfect excuse to gather people for a little everyday comfort. [H3] How to celebrate the Waffle Day At its core, the Waffle Day is about bringing people together. It can be a quick waffle before work, a cosy coffee break with a neighbour, or a full waffle feast with the family — always with a low threshold and a warm atmosphere. Mix your waffle batter and let it rest — it makes the waffles lighter and easier to cook. Cook the waffles until golden, and place them on a rack if you want to keep them crisp. Create a little “waffle table”: jam, sour cream, brown cheese and berries. Let everyone help themselves. And perhaps most importantly: make one extra. Waffle Day is meant for sharing. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Wilfa AS has 14.3 points less BS than the average for Ecommerce & Online Retail.
Ecommerce & Online Retail BS: Wilfa AS (wilfa.com)
Wilfa AS is a rare example of an ecommerce entity that uses technical substance to drown out marketing fluff. While it suffers from some template-level genericism, its willingness to link to external 2026 test results makes its performance claims unusually credible.
1. Populate the missing H1 on the homepage with a substance-led statement like ‘Norwegian Kitchen Innovation and Award-Winning Appliances’. 2. Expand the Organization schema to include the physical business address and LinkedIn sameAs links for the CEO. 3. Implement Person schema for blog authors to connect them to their professional digital footprint. 4. Replace the generic ‘Design meets performance’ heading with a more specific claim about the Norwegian design team or lab testing results.
The site content perfectly aligns with the Ecommerce & Online Retail category, specifically focusing on consumer home appliances. The presence of specific product SKUs, pricing in Norwegian Krone (kr), and standard retail terminology like ‘Unit price’ and ‘Your cart’ confirms this classification.
“The score is driven primarily by minor Trust Theatre signals and standard Ecommerce template clichés. The low score reflects high semantic coherence and the presence of verified, dated, third-party proof that actually backs up the marketing Signal.”
