Rather than chasing pixel-perfect replication, the focus is on pragmatic Laravel and backend logic. Along the way, we explore carts, session state, semantic markup, and UI polish. [IMG: Build Native Apps With PHP thumbnail] [H3] Build Native Apps With PHP With Simon HampWelcome to my CreatorSeries! I’m Simon, and in this series we’re going to learn about NativePHP and use it to build true native applications for desktop and mobile. We're not talking about web apps accessed through the browser. Your users will be able to install directly on their devices. This is a big leap forward for the PHP ecosystem, and while it’s a real paradigm shift from the way we normally build with PHP and Laravel, we’ve worked hard to keep it familiar and approachable. So grab a warm drink, get comfortable, and let's start building! [IMG: Vue State Management thumbnail] [H3] Vue State Management With Sabatino MasalaState management is at the heart of every Vue application, but exactly how you manage that state can sometimes be...confusing. So let's explore your options! We'll start with the basics, like props and events, before moving on to provide/inject, custom composables, and Pinia. Along the way, we'll tackle practical, real-world scenarios. By the end, you'll know exactly which approach to use and when, so your apps stay clean, organized, and fun to work on. [IMG: The Ralph Wiggum Technique thumbnail] [H3] The Ralph Wiggum Technique With Sabatino MasalaJoin me as I perform a deep-dive into the agentic looping technique known as "Ralph Wiggum." In this series, we’re not just building a script, we’re building the surrounding system that makes an agent reliable enough to collaborate with. We’ll work through permissions, sandbox rules, hooks, and safer ways to run in more autonomous modes. By the end, we’ll have something much bigger than a typical demo: a working approach for spec-driven agent development that can run locally, in the background, or on a remote machine over SSH. Let's go! [IMG: Defensive Laravel thumbnail] [H3] Defensive Laravel With Mateus GuimarãesIn this series, we'll take a deep-dive into various strategies and tools that will help you write robust and reliable code. We'll explore core defensive programming concepts, from strict typing and immutable objects to leveraging value objects for more effective domain modeling. Okay, let's dig in! [IMG: React, The Laravel Way thumbnail] [H3] React, The Laravel Way With Simon VrachliotisIn "React from Scratch", we built a "DevPups" app from scratch. Now it's time to take things further. Using that finished app as a base, you'll learn how to construct a React-powered app...the Laravel way! You'll see how we can swap out fragile external API calls for Laravel's elegant backend, add real-time "like" functionality, support file uploads, and polish up our CRUD features with proper authorization. Along the way, you'll get comfortable with Inertia.js, the perfect glue between Laravel's backend strength and React's frontend flexibility. By the end of this series, you'll have constructed a production-ready app that shows the Laravel way of working with React: fewer moving parts, cleaner architecture, and faster development. [IMG: Vibe Coding Workshop thumbnail] [H3] Vibe Coding Workshop With Josh JohnsonHi, I'm Josh, the creator of Wender. In this series, I'll teach you everything I've learned about how to treat vibe coding like a craft... rather than a magic trick. We're not chasing weekend Airbnb clones. No, we're interested in practical workflows for building better applications using AI. You'll learn about writing better prompts, what to do when things go sideways, and how to review diffs like a pro! [IMG: How to Build a Dev Team thumbnail] [H3] How to Build a Dev Team With Matt StaufferResources for learning to code are everywhere. The only hard part is choosing one. But when it comes to learning how to lead a development team, quality resources are incredibly scarce. This course fills that gap. It contains all of the lessons I learned while building the dev team at Tighten, a Laravel consultancy known for producing great work, but with an even better reputation as a fantastic place to work. [IMG: Debugging Real-World Production Nightmares thumbnail] [H3] Debugging Real-World Production Nightmares With Jeremy McPeakProduction bugs don't announce themselves politely. In this series, we confront ten nightmare scenarios using NightmareMart, an intentionally broken e-commerce app, demonstrating how to debug calmly and methodically when everything is on fire. [IMG: Blaze Deep-Dive thumbnail] [H3] Blaze Deep-Dive With Caleb PorzioBlade components are slow. Really slow. At scale, they quietly become the biggest bottleneck in your Laravel application. We discovered this while trying to make Flux as fast as possible, and the result is Blaze: a package that fundamentally rethinks how Blade components are compiled and rendered. With multiple levels of optimization, Blaze can shave hundreds of milliseconds off a page load, making Blade rendering up to 25x faster in some cases. In this series, we'll install it, benchmark it, build a toy version from scratch so you truly understand how it works, and then master every directive and edge case so you can squeeze maximum performance out of your own apps. [IMG: The Laravel Workshop thumbnail] [H3] The Laravel Workshop With Instructor TeamBuckle up, this is the workshop you've been waiting for! In fact, this course is such a massive undertaking to the point that it required three Laracasts instructors. Join Jeffrey Way, Simon Vrachliotis, and Jeremy McPeak as we build a fictional X-like platform, called Pixl, entirely from scratch! Each instructor is responsible for one piece of the puzzle. Simon will tackle the static HTML and CSS build. Then Jeremy will convert it into a traditional and dynamic Laravel application. Finally, Jeffrey will demonstrate how to transform a server-side app into a full SPA. Let's go! [IMG: Filament 5 in Depth thumbnail] [H3] Filament 5 in Depth With Kevin McKeeFilament's powers have increased exponentially. Now at version 5, it's more powerful and capable than ever. In this series, we'll build a practical Roadmap app from scratch, using Filament for the admin panel and Livewire for the public-facing side.Along the way, we'll cover panel configuration, enum-driven UI, strict authorization with policies, and newer form inputs like ToggleButtons, Sliders, and the TipTap-powered RichEditor. By the end, you'll have a full-featured app and a solid handle on everything new in Filament. [IMG: Customizing Filament For User-Facing Apps thumbnail] [H3] Customizing Filament For User-Facing Apps With Shruti BalasaIn this series, we'll build a real, user-facing app called Booknest using Laravel and Filament. We'll begin with a fresh install and begin pushing Filament beyond the usual "internal admin only" setup that you typically see. It's capable of so much more. [IMG: BaseCode Reloaded thumbnail] [H3] BaseCode Reloaded With Jason McCrearyYears and years of hard-fought coding breakthroughs, distilled into sixteen essential lessons. In this course, I'll show you how to write code for humans, not just machines. Together, we’ll review powerful techniques, like naming, structuring, removing clutter, and spotting patterns. These aren’t abstract theories from a dusty book. They’re practical and proven habits that you can apply to your codebase right now. If you’ve ever opened an old file and struggled to understand your own code, this course was made just for you. [IMG: Motion For The Web thumbnail] [H3] Motion For The Web With Simon VrachliotisMaster the art of modern web animation, from subtle CSS transitions to full-blown JavaScript motion systems. This series starts with the fundamentals of smooth, accessible CSS motion, then builds through keyframes, scroll-linked animations, SVG techniques, and the Web Animations API, finishing with powerhouse libraries like Motion.dev, AnimeJS, and GSAP. [IMG: Everything New in Livewire 4 thumbnail] [H3] Everything New in Livewire 4 With Caleb PorzioLivewire 4 is a major release, and it's packed with features you're going to love. View-based components keep your PHP and Blade together in one file. Islands let you create isolated, independently-updating regions without the overhead of nested components. New directives like wire:sort tackle big things with minimal code. And a powerful JavaScript interceptor system gives you fine-grained control over every request.Whether you're upgrading an existing app or starting fresh, this series will walk you through everything new, from the fundamentals to the advanced stuff. Let's dig in. [IMG: Running Clock thumbnail] [H3] Running Clock With Simon VrachliotisWelcome to "Running Clock," my new interview series where I fire off questions to top developers about their favorite tools, frameworks, and coding obsessions. Hello, Agent. 12m 38sLet's go! We'll begin by setting up JetBrains AI within Phpstorm. We'll then use it to explore and modify the demo "Laravel Workshop" codebase. Along the way, we'll distinguish between chat and agents, we'll generate a project guidelines.md file so Junie or Claude understands our conventions. [H4] Laravel Boost is a Must 10m 22sLet's pull in the incredible Laravel Boost package to teach your AI agent how things should be done in your application. This package also includes an MCP server along with a variety of tools to expedite common actions and lookups in your codebase.Guidelines and Prompting (2) [H4] Nip it in the Bud 5m 11sMy next tip for you is to "nip it in the bud." Never let AI drift away from your project's conventions. Let me show you what I mean! [H4] Prompting Essentials 10m 50sPrompting is a surprisingly big topic. But let's focus on just three prompting patterns to get you up and running.Agent Workflow (3) [H4] Vibe Coding Workshop 13m 51sLet me introduce you to vibe coding by building a peculiar little website that needs to be built. But I don't have the time to build it by hand, and I certainly don't care about the code in this case. [H4] Developer-Driven AI 17m 59sWhen working with AI, I prefer a more developer-driven approach. I want to work with the agent every step of the way. I design the plan, I choose the interface, and the agent works with me to implement it. [H4] Use Context7 For Up-to-Date Documentation 4m 53sLLMs often guess or fetch wildly outdated information. If I'm working with a particular version of a package or tool, I wish I could provide the agent with the most up-to-date documentation available. That's what Context7 allows for! Let me show you.Commands, Skills, Agents? (6) [H4] Claude Commands Explained 7m 48sThink of a command as a trigger: "do this thing." If you'd like a parallel to Laravel, the closest equivalent is an Artisan command. However, of course, Claude commands are not code. They're Markdown files! [H4] PhpStorm Prompt Library 3m 03sNext up, I'll show you how to use PhpStorm's prompt library to upgrade a component from the Vue 2 Options API to the Vue 3 Composition API with TypeScript. We'll create a custom prompt and run it on any file selection. [H4] Claude Skills Explained 12m 15sClaude skills are like field guides for your codebase. They're your way of telling the agent, "This is how we handle things in these parts!" [H4] Laravel's Code Simplifier Agent 5m 05sTaylor Otwell recently made a port of the popular code simplifier agent, but optimized for Laravel development. Let's pull it in, and give it a go. [H4] Claude Subagents Explained 15m 49sCommands, skills, subagents? It gets confusing pretty quickly! Let's make it clear by building a subagent that runs in isolation so that it doesn't clog up your main context window. [H4] Let Your Agent Use Chrome 3m 25sHave you ever asked an agent to perform a bit of work, it completes it, and then you test it out in the browser: blank screen! If only your agent could visit the page itself to confirm that things are functioning properly. Hmm...Developer Workflow (5) [H4] Ask AI to Edit a GitHub PR 5m 02sWouldn't it be neat if we could @mention AI and request that it make changes to a PR...even from our phones? Well, you can! It's easy. [H4] Get the Plan Right. Seriously. 3m 58sAfter endless mistakes, I've learned that it's essential that you get the plan just right before you unleash the agent on your codebase. Go back and forth multiple times. Have it interview you. Get it right! [H4] The Debate is Over. Testing is a Must. 7m 09sThere was a time, long ago, when developers couldn't decide on the value of tests. Are they necessary, or are they a waste of time. Well - that debate is over. If you're leveraging AI agents, a full test suite is a requirement. You have to do it. [H4] Worktrees, Agents, Peas, and Carrots 15m 25sGit worktrees allow your agents to work on multiple tasks simultaneously without creating collisions in your code. Each agent gets its own workspace. [H4] The Ralph Wiggum Technique Explained 10m 45sThis next technique I'm about to share with you...is wild! A definition won't do. You need to see this in action. And when it comes to hiring, they're all in agreement: most people...have no clue how to get a programming job. [H4] Programming Anxiety Oct 3rd, 2025Think about the existential dread that so many of us feel? The feeling that, at any point, we may soon become obsolete and out of a job. Is there any truth to it? [H4] Should You Learn Laravel Before PHP? Aug 26th, 2025A question frequently pops up across social media: should I learn PHP before moving on to Laravel? You'd think the answer would be an obvious "YES!" And, yet, so often, seasoned developers will say, "Nope. Just jump right into Laravel." Let's decide if there's merit to that approach. [H4] Where Does Laracasts Go From Here Jul 28th, 2025In the last year, the way we program has changed dramatically. Perhaps, more dramatically than at any other time in my career. We can thank AI for that. So that begs the question: how does Laracasts fit into this new environment? [IMG: Series trailer thumbnail] [H4] Progress [H4] Series Info Episodes16 Run Time1h 56m DifficultyIntermediate Last UpdatedMay 18, 2026 VersionLatest Play Series [H2] Series Episodes Episodes (16) [H4] What Is Ralph? 5m 07sLet’s kick things off by building a simple Ralph.sh loop and seeing how this agentic workflow actually works in practice. We’re not trying to make it fancy yet, just to understand why restarting the model with lightweight memory files like project.md and progress.md can be such a powerful way to ship work. [H4] Improving Our First Ralph Loop 4m 00sNow that we have our basic ralph loop in place, let's make it feel a lot less blind by surfacing what the model is doing in real time. We'll move from the old shell script to a small Node.js wrapper that can parse stream-json output into something actually readable while keeping the same overall loop architecture. [H4] What Is A PRD? 6m 59sNow that we have a feel for the onboarding problem, we’re going to step back and shape an agent-ready PRD that gives the model the right context, constraints, and success criteria before it writes a single line of code. The goal here is to front load the important decisions so our loop can execute with far less guesswork and a much better shot at shipping the right thing. [H4] Creating A PRD With Our PRD Skill 10m 18sNow that we have our PRD skill in place, we are going to put it to work and see how a well scoped spec can drive an agent through a real feature build. Along the way, we will refine the generated plan a bit, feed it into our rel.js loop, and check whether the end result actually holds up in the app. [H4] Running Ralph In The Background 9m 08sLet's take a minute to make our terminal setup a lot more resilient so we do not lose long running work every time we accidentally close a window. We will get comfortable with screen and tmux, with extra attention on a simple tmux workflow that lets us keep multiple loops and tools running in the background. [H4] Permissions And Sandboxing 6m 46sNow that we have the basic permission flow in place, we’re going to tighten things up and make the CLI a lot less noisy by configuring what can run automatically. We’ll look at allow and deny rules, then move into the native sandbox so we can give the model some freedom without giving up safety. [H4] Configuring Hooks 7m 12sNow that we have the sandbox handling the basics, we need to tighten up how permission checks work for mcp tools that live outside that flow. We’ll use pre-tool-use hooks to intercept requests, allow or deny them more intelligently, and even explore how a model driven reviewer can act as a second set of eyes. [H4] A Word On Auto Mode 3m 30sBefore we jump into bypass permission mode, we should pause for a quick look at Anthropic's new Auto mode, since it overlaps a lot with the hook based approach we just set up in the previous lesson. We'll check out what it does well, where it still feels shaky in practice, and why we're still moving on to a safer way to bypass the permission system ourselves. [H4] Bypassing Permissions Safely 10m 31sNow that we have played it safe with permissions, we are going to flip that around and explore what happens when we run in bypass permissions mode. The real focus is figuring out how to keep that power from becoming dangerous by leaning on sandboxes and eventually moving into a more isolated setup like Yolo box. [H4] Turning Our Ralph Script Into a Flexible CLI 7m 40sIn this lesson, we're taking our simple Ralph.js script and turning it into a polished CLI that feels much more flexible and pleasant to use. We'll lean on Bun, OpenTUI, and a PRD driven workflow to sketch, generate, and test a tabbed terminal interface with support for things like YoloBox. [H4] Agent Workspaces 9m 14sUp to this point, we have been letting Ralph run directly on our main branch, and that gets awkward fast once we want to keep coding without stepping on the agent's work. In this lesson, we will give Ralph a proper workspace of its own with approaches like git worktree and copy on write so our loops stay isolated, easier to test, and a lot less disruptive. [H4] Tracking PRDs With Linear 9m 46sUp to this point, we’ve been managing PRDs in flat files, but now it’s time to move that workflow into Linear so we can get better hierarchy, richer issue context, and a smoother handoff to Relo. We’ll wire up the integration, generate parent and child issues from a PRD, and watch the whole flow run from tracking to automated pull request creation. [H4] Human In The Loop 5m 44sIn this lesson, we're going to put some guardrails around Ralph by introducing a human in the loop workflow for the moments when the model is making important architectural calls. We'll let it propose a data shape for menu customizations, step in to review and nudge it, and then watch how that small bit of feedback keeps the rest of the feature on track. [H4] Offloading Loops To A Remote Machine 5m 37sNow that we've seen Ralph running locally, let's move it onto a remote machine so we can keep our workflow available across devices and out of our laptop's orbit. We'll set up a remote worker over SSH, lean on tmux for persistence, and then use the built in remote mode to dispatch loops while still keeping a nice local control pane. [H4] Experimenting With A Perpetual Loop 7m 17sNow that we've let this autonomous loop run wild, we're going to step back and look at what it actually produced and how far this experiment really got us. Then we'll start zooming out beyond Ralph itself and head toward the bigger idea of agent orchestration. [H4] Beyond Ralph Orchestration 7m 59sNow that we have all the core pieces in place, let's zoom out and see what this can look like as a real orchestration system by wiring Linear, multiple workflow.md style files, and our own agent loops together. We'll build a more flexible take on Symphony that supports Claude and routing, so we can watch these ideas move from isolated experiments into something we could actually use day to day. [H2] Continue Learning [IMG: So You Want to Build an Agent thumbnail] [H3] So You Want to Build an Agent With Jeffrey WayYou're likely using an AI agent every day at this point, but do you truly understand how it works under the hood? What separates an agent from a general chat? What's a tool? How do we provide the loop for executing these tools? In this series, we'll demystify some of these concepts by building a basic agent that is capable of interacting with your file system and triggering tools. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Laracasts has 14.5 points less BS than the average for Education, Schools & Universities.
Education, Schools & Universities BS: Laracasts (laracasts.com)
Laracasts is a technical workhorse that replaces generic educational fluff with high-density technical signal. It is a rare example of a site where the substance significantly exceeds the marketing claims, though its reliance on internal social proof and lack of structured metadata leaves minor room for improvement.
Implement JSON-LD Person and Course schema to link instructor identities to external verified profiles like GitHub. Replace static testimonial blocks with verified widgets or links to external review platforms to eliminate the Trust Theatre penalty. Quantify the massive community claim by providing real-time user or forum activity metrics. Add clear sameAs links to organizational profiles in the footer to solidify technical authority.
The site is a high-fidelity match for technical education within the Education sector. It successfully avoids academic platitudes by focusing on specific vocational deliverables for software developers.
“The score of 24 is driven by gaps in Trust and Proof (14/20) and Identity and Authority (7/15), primarily due to missing schema and unlinked reviews. The site scored perfectly in Semantic Coherence and Commodity Fingerprint, and near-perfectly in Information Density, indicating an extremely low level of bullshit.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Laracasts, captured on May 27, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
