Outdoor learning time is prioritised for children of all ages throughout the year, with several outdoor environments to explore. This includes our nursery garden, the grounds of St. Gilbert’s School, and an external woodland location. Children learn and grow in these environments by immersing themselves in the wonder of nature and activities including den-building, pond-dipping and storytelling around the firepit.

We’re located next door to St Gilbert’s School, offering children wonderful opportunities to engage in activities to prepare them for school such as PE, nativities, and sports days, fostering a smooth transition to primary school. [H3] Hello and welcome to Ashby Nursery School and Preschool Academy in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
My nursery story began 16 years ago when I started at Ashby as a student working my way up the ladder to become the Nursery Manager.We’re well known and loved by families in the local area who have enjoyed our wonderful Nursery and Preschool Academy. As well as this, our families recognise the happy and confident transition their children have made from us to our five nearby primary schools. Every day at Ashby we encourage children to be curious and imaginative in our wonderful learning environments. In doing so, they soon develop a real love of learning. Our experienced team comes with a wealth of early years learning insight.We know that every child is different with their own story to tell, so we make sure that your child learns in a way and at a pace that’s right for them. We’d love you to visit us and explore all that we have to offer your child in those important early years.

At Ashby, we love being part of a caring and connected community. Giving back is something we’re truly passionate about, which is why we’ve chosen to support Sands who support families who have experienced baby loss. The support that Sands offers is invaluable, and this cause is especially meaningful to us, as some of our team members and families have personally used their services.Throughout the year, we’ll be getting together for lots of fundraising activities, from bake sales and dress-up days, to sponsored challenges.
