How long is a standard skip hire?

Our standard skip hire period is one week.

I need a skip for longer - is that possible?

Yes, absolutely! Whilst our standard skip hire duration is one week, you can have a skip for longer if needed. Simply let our team know how long you need your skip for and we’ll bill you accordingly.

My skip is full - how can I organise getting it collected?

As soon as you’re finished with your skip, just call our office on 0151 549 1882 and we’ll arrange collection.

Can I arrange an AM or PM collection of my skip?

Yes, absolutely. We schedule our drivers’ work for the day first before the start of the working day. To arrange a morning or afternoon collection or drop off, simply call our team first thing in the morning on 0151 549 1882 and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

What area do you cover?

We provide skip hire services to the whole of the greater Merseyside area. That includes Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St. Helens, Wirral, Warrington and Wigan. If you’re not sure whether we can deliver a skip to you, just ask!

Will I need a permit to place my skip on a road?

If you’re planning on placing your skip on a road in Merseyside – no matter where that is – you’ll need a council permit, otherwise known as a local authority skip permit. These permits range in price depending upon the local authority in question, some charging more than others.
Please note that it is our responsibility to assess whether your skip is being placed on a road/on council property or the public highway, either wholly or even partially. If we deem that it is, you will need a permit. And, whilst you may believe the grass verge in front of your property belongs to you, this isn’t always the case. In such circumstances, a permit would also be required.

What can I put in a skip?

Our skips are designed to take a wide variety of non-hazardous waste – things like garden waste, building debris, regular household waste and so on. If you’re not sure whether something can be placed in one of our skips, just give us a call!

Is there anything I can't put in my skip?

Items that cannot be thrown into a skip include (but are not limited to) gas cylinders, glue, chemicals, oil, paint, tyres, batteries, asbestos, medical waste, animal waste and fuel. There is an additional charge to be paid for the disposal of fridges or mattresses due to the costs associated in processing these items.
If you’re unsure as to whether you can place a particular item into one of our skips, please call us.
And remember, it’s actually against the law to mix regular non-hazardous waste with hazardous waste and, unless you’re properly licensed/have the correct permit and use the prescribed type of containers, it’s illegal for you to dispose of hazardous waste yourself.

Our fleet of skip wagons are all FORS (Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme) registered and fitted with the latest safety features such as camera recording technology. This helps us protect our drivers, the public, and of course, you… our customers.

All our drivers are equipped with handheld digital tablets to manage their jobs. As soon as a job’s completed, your invoice will be sent directly from the driver’s tablet. And that means no waiting around for documentation to arrive.

How far will you wheelbarrow the concrete from your truck?

Our operatives will wheelbarrow your order of ready mix concrete 50ft from their truck – that’s 15m in new money! Any further and you’ll need to provide your own labour to assist

What exactly is the mix of your ready mix concrete?

Our ready mix concrete is a standard C30 mix. This means it will reach 30 Newtons of strength when fully cured, and that’s more than enough for all domestic requirements.

Can I arrange an AM or PM concrete delivery?

Of course. We schedule our drivers’ work for the day, first thing in the morning. If you’d prefer a morning or afternoon concrete delivery, just call our office on 0151 549 1882 as soon as you’ve made your booking. We’ll do whatever we can to accommodate you.

Which areas can you deliver to?

Can we send you our asbestos to dispose of?

Yes, you can send us your asbestos to dispose of but only if you have a licence. And we will only accept deliveries of asbestos that have been correctly double bagged and sealed in line with asbestos disposal regulations.

I know you dispose of asbestos, but can you collect it from our site?

No, we do not offer an asbestos collection service. We ask all customers to deliver their asbestos waste to our Environment Agency registered transfer station, where our correctly licensed team will dispose of it in line with regulations. All waste must be double bagged and sealed before it will be accepted.

Which areas do you cover?

Our asbestos transfer centre is based in Liverpool but we’ll accept double-bagged and sealed waste from anywhere in the country.

During what hours can you accept a delivery of asbestos waste?

We accept deliveries of asbestos waste between the hours of 7am and 6pm (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) and 7am and 1pm (Saturday).

How can I be sure that all of my asbestos waste be disposed of correctly?

Our transfer station is registered with the Environment Agency and our disposal team is fully licensed. Our Waste Management Licence number is EPR/AP3997CP.

Do I need to book an appointment to drop off asbestos for disposal?

No. You can attend our transfer station any time during our normal working hours (Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm and Saturday 7am-1pm) and our team will be happy to take you through the process of accepting your waste and provided you with the correct consignment notes and certificates.

[H2] 9 steps to prepare asbestos for disposal
Move all other adults and children away from the area.
Wear protective clothing if dust release is expected. You should thoroughly wet the asbestos waste to minimise the release of dust.
Do not sand, brush, or use power tools on the waste.
Do not cut or break the material. Sheets should be wrapped whole where possible.
Double wrap in 500-gauge Visqueen (heavy duty plastic sheeting) or builder’s rubble bags and seal all edges with heavy duty tape. Asbestos in bin bags will not be accepted.
Do not mix other waste with asbestos waste. You should be able to comfortably lift the asbestos to shoulder height. Do not overfill the bags.
Discard any overalls, cloths, masks & gloves afterwards. These should be treated as asbestos waste and bagged accordingly.
Wash both yourself and any PPE or other equipment well after handling any asbestos waste.
Thoroughly clean any removal areas afterwards. You should not use a vacuum cleaner for this.
[H2] Asbestos collection
We do not offer an asbestos collection service. Should you require someone to dismantle, package and collect your asbestos waste, you’ll need to contact a qualified contractor to do so. This contractor will charge you for this service.
We strongly advise that you confirm that your chosen contractor is licensed to remove your asbestos through the Environment Agency (you can call them on 0370 8506 506) before instructing any works.
