[H2] A legacy delivered
Coastal GasLink is testament to the power of collaboration between industry, Indigenous and local communities, and government, all of whom have played a significant role in shaping the future of Canada’s energy sector. The pipeline will deliver 2.1 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) of natural gas with the potential to deliver up to 5 bcf/d, through additional compression along the route.
Mechanically completed in November 2023, Coastal GasLink is focused on final clean-up and reclamation activities into operations. Coastal GasLink will play a critical role in delivering natural gas to world markets , providing a lower-emitting energy option to offset coal-fired energy generation in global markets.

[H2] Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) 101
LNG is an immediate solution to balancing global energy security, reliability, affordability and emissions reduction. It's a cleaner-burning, reliable, lower-carbon fuel, and safer to transport when compared to other fossil fuels, making it easier to reach global customers.
LNG is safe because it is non-explosive, non-toxic, non-corrosive and does not mix with water or soil – if exposed to air it will vaporize with no residue left behind. Once LNG reaches its destination, it is put back into its gas form to use for energy, displacing higher carbon emitting fuels such as coal.
