Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is about creating shared value, as the nature of our business means we have a relatively light environmental footprint. To manage our ESG impact we conducted an ESG materiality analysis, involving both internal and external stakeholders. The outcome of this exercise was to provide nine key ESG focus areas in order of relevance. These focus areas were then also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Flow Traders continuously provides liquidity to ensure markets remain resilient and continue to function in an orderly manner. In effect, we act as a stabilizing mechanism which helps to absorb market shocks.

Our Role Within the Global Financial Ecosystem

We maintain and improve the overall transparency and efficiency of the financial ecosystem by quoting bid and ask prices for financial products which market participants can trade against. We make it easier for investors to buy and sell financial products at a price that reflects the current price of the underlying asset.

We provide liquidity via two main routes: ‘on-screen’ which is conducted on stock exchanges where Flow Traders is a registered market maker and ‘off-exchange’ where we trade bilaterally with institutional counterparties, often through Request-for-Quote platforms.

Graduates

I am a student at university, am I eligible to apply for the Graduate Trader program?

Only penultimate and final year students are eligible to apply for the Graduate Trader program at Flow Traders. However, we encourage all students to come meet us at any of our upcoming events. All events can be found on our Career Events page.

When should I apply for the Graduate Software Development program?

We open applications for the Graduate Software Development program a year before the start date. Please be aware that we do not have a deadline for submitting applications, when all openings have been filled the position will be closed automatically.

What is the application deadline for the Graduate Trader program?

The Graduate Trader position is open all year round and we recruit students on a rolling basis. There are four intakes for this program per year.

What can I do to prepare for my Graduate Trader application?

Passion and motivation are essential elements to being successful in the Graduate Trader position. Below are some ways to learn more about trading that we share with students:
Start following what’s happening in the financial markets by keeping up with the news.
Set up a mock or real trading portfolio or participate in trading competitions.
Play games of statistics and strategy.
Spend some time practicing your mental math skills.
