[H3] Shipping & Local Deliveries

How does my order get to me?
Orders placed online will be shipped from our warehouse straight to you via FedEx or UPS. We offer Ground (except during the summer months), 2nd Day, and Next Day shipping. See our complete shipping policy. Orders for local delivery placed from our Local Deliveries page are fulfilled by your local store and delivered via DoorDash, per their policies.

Why do you use DoorDashfor local deliveries?
Our partnership with DoorDash began during the COVID-19 pandemic to help keep our retail stores open and serving their communities. We continue to use DoorDash for orders placed through our Local Deliveries page because it's a reliable service available in nearly all areas where we have stores, making it easy for you to enjoy your favorite treats from the comfort of your home or office.

[H3] Caramel Apples

Can I order caramel apples online?
In order to maintain the freshness and quality of our gourmet, hand-dipped apples, they are exclusively made fresh in stores all over the USA. In addition to the apples, our retail locations also make fudge and other hand-dipped delights right in store. Find a location near you.

I bought an apple from a store in Canada and it tasted bad and looked moldy!
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (RMCF) does not have any brand affiliated stores in Canada at this time, so we suggest contacting the store in your province where the apple was purchased. The Canadian company you are looking for is called Rocky MTN Chocolate. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope you get the opportunity to experience Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. .

[H3] About the Products

Why does chocolate sometimes develop a white or tan appearance?
Chocolate contains cocoa butter, a plant-based fat that is sensitive to heat and moisture. When temperatures exceed 75°F, chocolate can melt, causing the cocoa butter to rise to the surface and create a discoloration known as “cocoa butter bloom." If milk or semi-sweet chocolate encounters condensation, the sugar may dissolve and then re-crystallize on the surface, forming “sugar bloom." While chocolate with bloom is still safe to consume, you may notice changes in flavor and texture. We take every possible step to minimize bloom, including maintaining climate control in our factory, warehouse, and delivery trucks.

How do I store chocolate to keep it fresh?
Solid chocolate will retain its quality when wrapped securely and stored in a cool, dry environment (55-60°F). While refrigeration is safe, it's not ideal, as chocolate may “sweat" when returned to room temperature.

What is the shelf life of your products?
It varies by product, but you generally want to consume any product with nuts (like toffee or clusters) within 6 months. Other products can be kept for up to one year from the date of purchase, if properly stored. Store made items like caramel apples and chocolate dipped strawberries are made fresh daily and should be consumed immediately.

Are your dog treats really safe for dogs?
Yes! Our dipped dog bones are dipped in 100% dog-safe white confection that your pup is sure to love. We also use a dog treat that contains just five easily digestible ingredients.

Where do you source your ingredients?
We mindfully source all our ingredients, including our packaging, from US Suppliers. We choose suppliers for quality over cost, so everything you get from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is the highest quality available on the market. We can proudly say that our products are 100% American sourced, and American made. Our cocoa is ethically sourced with fully traceable origins, sustainable farming practices, and humane working conditions.

Are your products Kosher?
We are a Kosher-Orthodox Union (OU) manufacturing facility.

Where can I find nutritional information?
Each product page contains nutritional information for that specific product. You can also visit our nutritional information page. Our delicious chocolates and sweet treats are manufactured in a facility (and share equipment with) allergens including milk, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, and eggs. Our stores also utilize these same allergens, so please keep that in mind when visiting one of our locations.

Do you sell sugar free chocolates?
We currently do not produce sugar free chocolates and candies. The decision was made due to difficulty in sourcing a sugar substitute that meets our incredibly high standards. Our Research & Development team is working on new sugar free recipes, and we hope to have sugar free treats available for purchase in 2026.

What our franchisees are saying

“The first years owning the business had been so wonderful for our family, that when my Dad retired 6 years later, we didn't hesitate to buy his location. Two years after that, the previous Miramar Beach, Florida owner asked us to buy his store. After visiting the store, and analyzing and reanalyzing the financials, we decided to add a third location to our family of RMCFs. There are hard days, frustrating days and bad days, but most days are exciting, challenging, and good. We truly love this business.”

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Update or archive the 2022 Newsweek award as it is now stale evidence in 2026; seek a more current accolade to maintain trust. Implement Person schema for the executive team and board members mentioned in the investor and franchise sections. Link the customer testimonials directly to a verified third-party review platform to move from trust theatre to verified proof. Ensure the 2024 financial quartile data is updated to reflect 2025 performance to maintain current system date relevance.

The site perfectly matches the Food, Restaurants & Delivery category, specifically as a confectionery manufacturer and franchisor. The content consistently focuses on chocolate production, retail store operations, and food-service logistics such as DoorDash partnerships.

“The low score of 20 is driven by exceptionally high specificity in financial and operational data. The Information Density pillar was the primary BS-reducer, as the site provides line-item costs and technical manufacturing details. Minor points were only accrued for stale evidence (Newsweek 2022) and the use of internal review carousels without third-party verification links.”
