Staples Opticians is a friendly optical practice located in Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham. The current site has been providing eyecare services to the town and surrounding areas since the 1960's. In the summer of 2023 Harveys Opticians in Swinton merged with us to further protect and ensure high quality eyecare is available locally. We pride ourselves on our personal service, clinical care, wide range of frames and our experienced team aim to provide the best patient experience and eyecare advice.

Established in 1990, Staples Opticians is a friendly practice located in Rotherham which merged with Harvey's Opticians in Swinton in 2023.

We have since evolved into a successful practice offering a personal service and a large range of frames at great prices.

It is very important to us that our staff get to know our patients well. This allows us to learn your personal requirements for your individual eyecare.

We recognise that everyone has different priorities for their eye health, spectacles and contact lenses. As a result, we make sure our dedicated team will recommend the very best option for you.

FaheemFaheem joined the practice in May 2019 as the Optometrist partner. He has a first class honours degree in Optometry and is one of the few independent prescriber Optometrist in the area. Outside of work he enjoys socialising, spending time with his young children and playing sports.TraceyDispensing Opticians/Practice ManagerI have worked within the optical industry for 20years, the last 12 of the being here at Staples Opticians. Your eye examination is an important regular health check and an opportunity for you to address any concerns you have about your eyes and vision. [H5] Visual Fields Testing
Vision is often measured by how far down the letter chart we can read correctly. But another very important part of our everyday experience of life is our awareness of the things further out in our peripheral vision. This wider visual awareness is known as our visual field.

Sadly there are some conditions that cause us to lose some or part of our field of vision, the most common of which is Glaucoma. Any condition that affects the nerve of the eye or the brain like strokes or trauma can also result in a loss of areas of peripheral vision.
