It recovers energy through, what is termed, 'Latent Heat'. When the burned fuel products cool they turn in to a liquid and create condensation. A Combi boiler provides both heating and hot water instantly. A system boiler is designed to work with a cylinder to provide hot water as it does not have the hot water heat exchanger. It contains an expansion vessel and pump allowing the boiler to be installed in a sealed system. A Heat only boiler is the simplest type of boiler. It can be used on either an open vented system, which has a tank in the loft, or in a sealed system with the addition of an external pump and expansion vessel. Hot water is provided by using a cylinder. How can I contact you? Please see below the contact numbers for the Ideal Heating Customer Service and Technical Support teams: Customer Service: 01482 498660Technical Support: 01482 498663Why not browse our FAQs to see if your question has already been answered? What does it mean when the '0' is displayed on the boiler screen? When ‘0’ is displayed on the boiler screen it means the boiler is on standby. This means the boiler is not receiving a demand from either the hot water or central heating.Still need further guidance with your Ideal boiler? Why not browse our boiler help guides or call our Technical Support team on 01482 498663? What does it mean when 'D' is displayed on the boiler screen? When 'D' is displayed on your boiler screen it means your boiler has fired up for a hot water demand. Still need further guidance with your Ideal boiler? Why not browse our boiler help guides or call our Technical Support teamLearn more Why can't I get hot water? If you’re unable to receive hot water from your boiler, there are two different methods to follow depending on the type of boiler you own. Combi Boilers: On an Ideal combi boiler you should firstly check that the hot water temperature is turned up on the front. From here, you should check that the isolation valve underneath the boiler on the cold mains pipe is vertical/open. If this still doesn’t solve your problem it is likely there is an issue within the appliance. Heat Only & System Boilers: On either a heat only boiler or a system boiler, if the central heating works and the hot water does not then this is likely a system problem; possibly a zone valve not operating. If neither of these methods solves your problem then please call our Technical Support team on 01482 498663 What is 'fan post purge'?A fan post purge occurs when the fan continues to run after the boiler has been in operation. This is done to help cool the unit down and it is a normal function within the appliance. Still need further guidance with your Ideal boiler? Why not browse our boiler help guides or call our Technical Support team on 01482 498663? Are there any government grants available to help with heat pump costs?Depending on your location, government incentives, such as the UK’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme, may be available if you want to install an energy-efficient heat pump system. Will a boiler increase the value of a new build?Energy efficiency increases property value according to UK bank Nationwide, with a 1.7% increase in value for properties in bands A and B compared to band D. Choosing an energy-efficient boiler is a significant way to improve the efficiency rating of your new build. Will a heat pump increase the value of a new build?According to a study by Scottish Power and the WWF, a heat pump can increase a home's value by up to 3%. Our guide, ‘Should I Install a Heat Pump in My Home?’, can help you further understand how an air-source heat pump can benefit your new-build property. What boiler is best for a new build? When selecting a boiler for your new build property, consider the size of the building, the water pressure, the number of taps and the number of occupants. For smaller buildings, a combi boiler is excellent for saving space and can provide both heating and hot water on demand. However, its compact size means it can only supply one tap with hot water at a time. For a new build property that will have a higher number of occupants or multiple bathrooms, we recommend a system boiler, which can store hot water in a large cylinder, allowing it to supply hot water to multiple areas of the home at once. System boilers are also a strong option for new builds in areas with lower water pressure. Can you install a heat pump in a flat?Air source heat pumps can absolutely be installed in a flat, provided there is at least one square metre of outdoor space for the pump's outside component. Heat pumps can also emit some noise, which can be a concern for flat block dwelling. However, Quiet Mark Approved heat pumps are available, such as our Logic Air. Is social housing eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme? While social housing isn’t eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, those on housing benefits are eligible for the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund for energy-efficient heating. Social housing properties with low energy rating (D-G) can also be fitted with heat pumps via the Energy Company Obligation. Which heating solutions are best for social housing?Heating for social housing should be energy-efficient and cost-effective. Heat pumps, which offer energy efficiency of around 400%, are an excellent option for this.If opting for a boiler, consider the size of the property and the number of intended occupants. A combi boiler is excellent for small properties as it’s compact in a single unit to save space. However, for larger properties with a high number of occupants, a system boiler is a strong choice as it can store large amounts of hot water in a separate cylinder. If you are using an older property that was built with a heat-only boiler in mind, a new heat-only boiler installation may be the most cost-effective choice. To help you make your decision, see our guide comparing heat pumps and gas boilers and our guide to different boiler types. Should I install a heat pump in my home? There are a number of great benefits to installing a heat pump in your home. By reducing gas consumption, you decrease the carbon footprint of your home for more sustainable living, which is not only beneficial to you but also desirable to potential buyers when selling your home.At around 400% efficient, our heat pumps cut down your home’s energy usage. In addition, as part of the government’s push toward carbon neutrality, you can receive up to £7,500 off the installation of your heat pump via the UK's Boiler Upgrade Scheme. See our guide on the advantages of heat pumps for homeowners to learn more. What are heat pumps for homes? A heat pump draws in air from outside your home using a fan. This air is then passed over a special refrigerant fluid that has an exceptionally low boiling point, allowing it to absorb heat even from air that feels cool to us.As the refrigerant turns into a gas, it is compressed, which significantly raises both its temperature and energy. This heat is then transferred to the water circulating through your heating system. Subsequently, the refrigerant condenses back into a liquid, ready to repeat the cycle.Guide to Air Source Heat PumpsHow to choose a boiler for your homeAt Ideal Heating, we have three main boiler types available, each best suited to a different property type.Combi boilers are popular choices for many homeowners due to their ability to provide both heating and hot water on demand. They are best suited to small properties as they’re compact without additional tanks or cylinders. They’re less suited to large properties with a number of occupants, as they struggle to deliver hot water to more than one tap or showerhead at a time. They’re also best suited to homes with high water pressure. A system boiler is recommended for larger homes with a high water demand, as they are able to store a large hot water supply in their boiler cylinder. For older homes, a heat-only boiler may be suitable. However, this is only recommended for homes already fitted with this boiler type. Our blog comparing these three boiler types can aid in your decision. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Industrial, Manufacturing & Engineering BS: Ideal Heating (idealheating.com)
This is a high-substance manufacturing site with minimal BS. The distance between the ‘UK’s leading’ claim and the forensic evidence of their product library is exceptionally short. It functions as a technical resource first and a marketing tool second.
Update the temporal proof points; the safety notice from February 2024 is now 27 months old as of May 2026 and should be archived or refreshed to maintain current credibility. Quantify the ‘leading’ claim in the H1 with a specific market share percentage or unit production volume to move it from fluff to fact. Integrate ‘Person’ schema for the Lead Engineers or Quality Assurance heads to bridge the institutional authority gap. Map the ’55 reviews’ on the homepage to a third-party verified link to eliminate the trust_theatre_flag potential.
The content perfectly aligns with the Industrial, Manufacturing & Engineering category, specifically focusing on HVAC and boiler production. The technical granularity of the User Guides and Installation manuals confirms this is a legitimate manufacturing entity rather than a reseller or service-only firm.
“The score of 16 is driven by the exceptional Information Density and Semantic Coherence pillars. A few points were lost in Information Density due to power-word usage in H1/H2 tags and in Commodity Fingerprint for using standard manufacturing clichés. The site is a benchmark for manufacturing transparency.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Ideal Heating, captured on May 27, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to Ideal Heating: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
Any company can use the insights for free and improve its voice by comparing it to industry clichés or competitors. When a company has updated its content, it can always submit a new audit request, which will be reflected in a new current score.
