Lynas offers its customers rare earth products with assured provenance from mine to finished product. Rare earth oxides are mined and initially processed at our Mt Weld Concentration Plant. The materials are then shipped to our 100-hectare advanced materials plant in Gebeng, Malaysia, where the concentrate is separated and processed into high quality Rare Earth materials. [H4] Did You Know – rare earths help reduce the weight of our cars Modern cars include a growing number of electrical motors, including for seat adjustment, wipers, side mirrors, roof movements, ABS brake pumps, EPS (Electronic Power Steering) replacing traditional hydraulic systems, air conditioning compressors, cooling water pumps, and oil pumps – a total that varies between 20 and 50 small electrical motors. NdFeB permanent DC motors allow substantial weight reductions, thus supporting better energy efficiency for the car. [H3] Summary of our Rare Earth products and their key attributes [H4] Light Rare Earths: Lanthanum or La (57) – is a silver-white metal that is one of the most reactive rare earth elements. It is used in the manufacture of specialised optical glasses including infrared absorbing glass as well as camera and telescope lenses. It can also be used to help make steel more malleable. Other applications for lanthanum include wastewater treatment and petroleum refining. Cerium or Ce (58) – is a silvery-white metal that easily oxidises in the air. It is the most abundant rare earth elements and has many uses including as a catalyst in catalytic converters in automotive exhaust systems to reduce emissions. It is also a key component for precision glass polishing. Cerium can also be used in iron, magnesium and aluminium alloys, magnets, certain types of electrodes, and carbon-arc lighting. Praseodymium or Pr (59) – this soft, silvery metal was first used to create a yellow-orange stain for ceramics. Although it is still used to colour certain types of glasses and gemstones, praseodymium is primarily used in rare earth magnets. It can also be found in applications as diverse as creating high-strength metals found in aircraft engines and flint for starting fires. Neodymium or Nd (60) – is a soft, silvery metal, neodymium that is used with praseodymium to create some of the strongest permanent magnets available in the world today. These magnets are found in most modern vehicles and aircraft as well as popular consumer electronics such as headphones, microphones, and computer discs. Neodymium is also used to make high-powered, infrared lasers for industrial and defence applications. [H4] Heavy Rare Earths: Samarium or Sm (62) – is a silvery metal that can be used in several vital ways including in very powerful magnets for transportation, defence, and commercial technologies. In conjunction with other compounds, it can also be used for intravenous radiation treatments to kill cancer cells. It is also used to help treat lung, prostate, breast, and some forms of bone cancer. Because it is a stable neutron absorber, samarium is also used to control the rods of nuclear reactors. Europium or Eu (63) – is a hard metal used to create visible light in compact fluorescent bulbs and colour displays such as in LCD televisions. It is also used to make the special phosphors marks on the Euro notes to help prevent counterfeiting. Gadolinium or Gd (64) – has particular properties that make it especially suitable for shielding in nuclear reactors and neutron radiography. It is also used to help target tumours in neuron therapy as well as enhance magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). X-rays and bone density tests also use gadolinium, making this rare earth element a major contributor to modern health care solutions. Terbium or Tb (65) – is a silvery rare earth metal that is so soft it can be cut with a knife. Terbium is often used in compact fluorescent lighting, colour displays, and as an additive to permanent rare earth magnets so they can function better under higher temperatures. It can also be found in fuel cells designed to operate at elevated temperatures and some electronic devices as well as naval sonar systems. Terbium in its alloy form has the highest magnetostriction of any such substance. Because of its magnetisation, in its alloy form it is easy to change its shape, making it vital component of Terfenol-D which is used in many defence and commercial technologies. Dysprosium or Dy (66) – is a soft, silver metal with one of the highest magnetic strengths of all of the rare earths, matched only by holmium. Dysprosium is often added to permanent rare earth magnets to help them operate more efficiently at higher temperatures. Lasers and commercial lighting use dysprosium as do hard computer disks and other electronics which require certain magnetic properties. Dysprosium can also be used in nuclear reactors and modern, energy-efficient vehicles. [H4] SEGH: Lynas produces a mixed Heavy Rare Earth compound, known as SEGH. SEGH is a mixed Heavy Rare Earth compound containing mixed Samarium, Europium, Gadolinium, Holmium, Dysprosium and Terbium. Currently, this compound is sold to customers who then further process the compound into separated heavy rare earth materials.

[H3] Dr Vanessa Guthrie AO [H4] Non-Executive Director Dr Guthrie has more than 30 years’ experience in the resources sector in diverse roles such as operations, environment, community and indigenous affairs, corporate development and sustainability. She has qualifications in geology, environment, law and business management including a PhD in Geology. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science from Curtin University in 2017 for her contribution to sustainability, innovation and policy leadership in the resources industry. Dr Guthrie is currently Deputy Chair of Cricket Australia, Chancellor of Curtin University, Non-Executive Director and Chair of IGO Limited, and a Non-Executive Director of Santos Limited and Cleanaway Waste Management Limited. Dr Guthrie was formerly the Lead Independent Director and Deputy Chair of Adbri Limited and a Non-Executive Director of the Orica Limited, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, North American Construction Group Limited, Tronox Holdings PLC, Infrastructure Australia and completed her term as Chancellor of Curtin University in March 2026. She is also the former Managing Director and CEO of Toro Energy Limited from 2013 to 2016 and was the Chair of the Minerals Council of Australia from 2016 to 2019. She is an active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Chief Executive Women, a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. Dr Guthrie was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2021 in recognition of her contribution to the minerals and resources sector. [H3] Grant Murdoch [H4] Non-Executive Director Mr Murdoch joined the Company as a Non-Executive Director on 30 October 2017. Mr Murdoch has more than 38 years of chartered accounting experience. From 2004 to 2011, Mr Murdoch led the corporate finance team for Ernst & Young Queensland and was an audit and corporate finance partner with Deloitte from 1980 to 2000. Mr Murdoch has extensive experience in providing advice in relation to mergers, acquisitions, takeovers, corporate restructures, share issues, pre-acquisition pricing due diligence advice, expert reports for capital raisings and initial public offerings. Mr Murdoch is currently a Non-Executive Director and chair of the audit committee of Auswide Bank Ltd and was appointed Non-executive Chaiman of Eagle Street Associates Pty Ltd on 1 July 2024. Mr Murdoch has a Master’s degree in Commerce (Honours) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, is a graduate of the Kellogg Advanced Executive Program and the Advanced Leadership Program at Northwestern University. He is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mr Murdoch is the Chair of the Audit, Risk and ESG Committee and a member of the Nomination, Remuneration and Community Committee. [H3] Kathleen Bozanic [H4] Non-Executive Director Ms Bozanic joined the Lynas Rare Earths Board of Directors on 17 October 2025. Ms Bozanic has over 30 years’ experience as a finance professional in the resources sector and served as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of IGO Ltd prior to being appointed as Chief Financial Officer of IGO Ltd. She was previously a partner at Deloitte and has held senior positions with BGC Contracting, Atlas Iron and Mt Gibson. [H3] Pol Le Roux [H4] Chief Operating Officer Pol Le Roux is Chief Operating Officer at Lynas Rare Earths, responsible for Lynas’ full operations from the Mt Weld mine to the advanced materials plant in Malaysia to final product delivery to our customers. He also leads sustainability initiatives such as Life Cycle Analysis and mine to magnet traceability, and new product development to meet customer needs. Previously, Kam was VP Production from 2014 to 2020, leading Lynas’ production, health and safety and product quality from mine to finished product. Kam started at Lynas in 2012 as the General Manager WA. Mr Leung has had over 30 years in the resources sector and has worked for Mt Isa Mines, BHP Billiton and Iluka Resources prior to joining Lynas. His previous experience includes the development and operation of silver-lead–zinc mining and processing operations in the Northern Territory and Northwest Queensland, operation of mineral sands separation and synthetic rutile plants in Western Australia and corporate risk management. Dato Mashal is Chairman of PETRONAS Vendor Development Program for MLNG and ABF, and is a Member of the Research Council, University Teknologi Petronas. [H3] Mimi Afzan Afza [H4] Vice President People & Culture Mimi joined Lynas in March 2008 as the Senior Human Resources Manager.
