[H2]

[H1]
TTX TECHNOLOGY

[H1] SYNONYMOUS WITH ÖHLINS RACING
Since then, the technology has been developed further to maximize performance on the track and is now widely featured in most top-level racing classes. It has become somewhat of our signature damping system with its twin tube technology and is deployed across all market segments, ranging from front forks and rear shocks for motorcycles and MTB as well as the automotive and powersports arena. Most recently as we entered the MTB Cross Country segment and brought the TTX technology into it, the technology set a new standard in damping function. The common denominator being a premium product range that meets the highest demand for performance.
The TTX technology is based on the principle of creating damping force by raising oil pressure on one side of the piston and having gas pressure on the other side. Single-tube dampers often see a reduction in pressure on one side of the piston. By never reducing oil pressure below gas pressure, cavitation can be avoided. Cavitation is a phenomenon that occurs when the pressure drops in the damper and gas bubbles form in the oil. This severely impairs damper performance. Using a TTX damper, a driver/rider will notice this as the damper unit delivers unrivaled control and flawless damping, no matter the conditions.

The TTX technology also makes it possible to regulate the oil flow through the compression and rebound valves separately, meaning that rebound and compression damping are adjusted individually. On most single-tube dampers, the “rebound” adjuster also affects compression. Thousands and thousands of engineering hours have been invested in perfecting our twin tube design to deliver the best dynamic damping behavior possible.

With a TTX damper you will never experience a loss of damping performance when pushing your vehicle to the limits, no matter the terrain or track/road conditions. Its consistent performance keeps the driver/rider safe and provides improved traction, control, and confidence. The TTX’s positive pressure buildup technology also keeps the damper’s dynamic behavior constant over the full adjustment range, meaning that you can use the adjusters’ full adjustment range without any loss in damper response or performance.

For all products fitted with TTX damping technology, there is a race-proven setting bank available to further tune the damper to suit any specific driver/rider, vehicle, or driving/riding style. With the TTX technology you receive the highest level of suspension technology, a real racing product. You find the TTX technology in a variety of dimensions, lengths, and designs, all tested by our qualified test drivers and riders. With the individual adjusters for the compression and rebound valves you have the best possible option setting up your vehicle to achieve the ultimate handling, comfort, and confidence, regardless of if it’s for a race or that Sunday drive/ride.
Twin-tube technology provides the possibility and is designed to control the two-way oil flow through the piston and through double tubes. It makes it possible tune the oil when it is passing the compression and rebound valves separately and by that control the pressure on each side of the piston. A rider will notice this as the damper unit delivers unrivaled control and flawless damping, no matter the conditions.

[H2]

[H1]
STX TECHNOLOGY

[H1] STX TECHNOLOGY
The STX series is a high-pressure monotube type shock absorber originally developed for motocross riders. It is the foundation Öhlins was built on and has been developed over the years and across all our segments.
The fluid is under gas pressure and is kept separate from the gas by a dividing piston. The pressurization prevents cavitation of the oil, and the shock absorbing action is therefore more even and reliable. Most STX dampers have a shaft adjuster, mainly influencing rebound damping. The more advanced models also have a separate compression adjuster. Another benefit of the compression adjuster is that it further improves cavitation resistance and allows “pressure balancing”, which optimizes damper response. Öhlins shock absorbers provide the possibility of adjustment, making them adaptable to most vehicles, drivers/riders and ranges of use. All of the shock absorbers with springs have adjustable spring preload. The Öhlins STX shock absorbers are racer friendly shock absorbers that are easy to set up, dial in and rebuild.
Dampers will get hot – that’s one thing that you can be sure of. As the piston moves within the damper, all the damping work is transformed into heat. Although we can’t stop heat, we can deal with it. As the heat increases, the viscosity of the damper fluid is decreased, lowering the damping forces, which alters the car’s handling characteristics. Our unique needle bleed valve system expands with temperature, closing the orifice that the fluid travels through, maintaining a consistent damping rate.

[H2]
ÖHLINS AUTOMOTIVE

[H1]
DFV TECHNOLOGY

[H3]
[H3] ABOUT ÖHLINS DFV
Öhlins DFV (Dual Flow Valve) technology is a groundbreaking innovation in the world of suspension systems. It is a high-performance damping system designed to provide unparalleled control and comfort in a wide range of driving conditions. The DFV technology utilizes a unique and patented valve design that allows for very precise control of the damping forces in the shock absorber speed range that is most critical for handling, traction, and comfort. Utilizing the DFV technology greatly reduces the compromise between handling and comfort that is normally associated with a common single tube damper. The compression and rebound side are tuned individually. Öhlins DFV technology is featured in our entire range of Automotive Road & Track products — whether on the racetrack or the street, this technology delivers exceptional performance and a smoother ride.

[H3] HOW DOES IT WORK?
The DFV (Dual Flow Valve) enables tuning the intermediate shock absorber speed range independently from low- and high speed damping. This takes away the compromise between comfort and handling that is associated with common single tube dampers, where the intermediate speed damping can’t be adjusted without affecting low- and/or high speed damping. The Öhlins R&T range uses DFV technology on every single fitment, ideal for drivers who want a versatile upgrade with comfort and agility in one unit.

[H3]
FIGURES 1 AND 2
[H2]
COMPRESSION & REBOUND

In compression flow (Figure 1) at low shaft speeds, oil flows mostly through the shaft jet bleed (lower dotted arrow). At high shaft speeds, oil flows mostly through the compression ports in the piston (upper dotted arrow). At intermediate shaft speeds, the oil flow can also be regulated by the compression valve in the DFV. During sudden shaft accelerations, oil can also escape through the compression ports in the DFV, further increasing comfort and handling.
In rebound flow (Figure 2) at low shaft speeds, oil flows mostly through the shaft jet bleed (lower dotted arrow). At high shaft speeds, oil flows mostly through the rebound ports in the piston (upper dotted arrow). At intermediate shaft speeds, the oil flow can also be regulated by the rebound valve in the DFV. During sudden shaft accelerations, oil can also escape through the rebound ports in the DFV, maintaining tyre contact with the road.

Because the DFV opens more quickly and easily on minor road imperfections, ride comfort is surprisingly supple and more akin to an OE suspension than an aftermarket coilover set-up. As a matter of fact, a DFV suspension can many times increase comfort over the OE suspension, while at the same time providing the handling, traction, response, and confidence needed for track driving. Over undulating surfaces, the compliancy of the R&T units allows the car to crest bumps and potholes, while remaining stable and in control. Traction is always maintained at its optimal level.

[H3]
FIGURE 3
[H2]
WITHOUT DFV

Without DFV, the oil can't flow through the piston quickly enough on the rebound stroke after hitting a bump, making it harder for the tire to stay in contact with the road.

[H3]

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Implement Organization and Person schema to formally link the brand to named racing experts and athletes. Add specific ISO certification numbers and certificate links to the ‘ÖHLINS OEM’ section to provide standard manufacturing proof. Replace generic H2s like ‘INNOVATION’ with more specific technical category headers.

The site is a perfect match for the Industrial, Manufacturing & Engineering category. The content is heavily focused on mechanical engineering principles, fluid dynamics, and proprietary manufacturing technologies such as TTX and DFV.

“The score of 21 reflects a very low level of BS. The points lost are primarily due to the total absence of structured data (schema) and a few instances of industry-standard power words in the headings. The core content is remarkably substantive.”
