Dynamic Instantaneous Current Delivery (DTCD)

DTCD® Analysis is the foundational design principle behind Shunyata Research's award-winning power product designs. DTCD Analysis is a proprietary measurement technique developed to measure instantaneous current flow through extremely low impedance electrical conductors and contacts. It is used to optimize the design of electrical parts and materials, ensuring optimal instantaneous current delivery in the most demanding of electrical systems. DTCD® Analysis gives Shunyata Research a clear competitive advantage in the design and development of high performance power delivery products.

Our research confirms that lowering in-line resistance to peak current dramatically improves sound by more accurately conveying the impact, immediacy, three-dimensional weight and timing in sound. There is more clarity and less distortion with signals of any type, whether audio, video or even delicate signals such as those viewed in science and medical applications.

Early in its research cycle in the early 2000's, Shunyata Research determined that facilitating the dynamic transfer of current was foundational to accuracy in reproduced sound and visuals. Measurements indicate that designing in over-rated parts using matched metals throughout the electrical path leads to consistent gains in performance regardless of the system. Overrating and custom manufacturing these parts is also directly linked to long product life and reliable, consistent operation. As a result, Shunyata invests enormous resources into creating it's own series of overrated parts, all made from ultra-pure copper, that exist nowhere else in the industry. Shunyata's custom designed and manufactured parts include solid copper outlets, AC connectors, internal wiring, power conductors, buss systems, ground posts and noise isolation chambers. All of these customized parts are critical to the performance outcome of any sound, medical and visual media system. These parts are proprietary and exist solely for application within Shunyata Research product designs. Together, the collection of DTCD designed parts form the cornerstone of a broad base of intellectual property.

Component-to-Component Interference (CCI)

CCI refers to Shunyata Research’s exploration into the exchange of high-intensity noise that occurs within a system of interconnected, proximally placed electronics that are tied to a common power source. The more components and complexity in the system, the more prevalent CCI becomes.
The vast majority of power conditioners are designed to act as a ‘brick wall’ filter in order to "block" noise coming in from outside the system. By definition, this approach reflects noise generated within the system back into other components that are connected to the same power line. CCI™ (component-to-component interference) is one of the most overlooked aspects to power system performance. Shunyata Research has developed a wide array of noise reduction methods and technologies that eliminate CCI™ interference without using heavy transformers, coils, or large capacitors. These technologies avoid the hum, buzz, heat and reactance that lead to inconsistent performance.

Expected performance benefits include dramatic gains in image definition, background silence and the palpable sense of realism in film or sound systems. The sheer volume of measurement affirming the value of Shunyata's many patents and technologies points to an efficiency in defeating system generated noise that has no comparative peer. Transverse Axial Polarizer
TAP (‌‌Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a device that interacts with the electromagnetic field generated by the signal traveling along the signal cable. ‌‌TAP improves the sonic performance of the cable by modifying the behavior of the electromagnetic wave that surrounds the signal cable. In effect, the ‌‌TAP blocks longitudinal-oriented waves while passing transverse-oriented waves. The effect in sonic terms is like using polarized sunglasses to reduce reflected sunlight. Correcting polarization micro-distortion reduces what some call sonic glare. Patent Pending.

Common-Mode Noise
Common-mode noise is different than differential noise and is much more difficult to measure and eliminate. For the purest signal possible, Shunyata Research has developed a CMode filter that effectively reduces common-mode noise without introducing the sonic compression effects associated with conventional filters.
