Together with our partners and customers, we are accelerating the development of infrastructure solutions for hydrogen, ammonia, CO₂, battery energy storage, and low-carbon fuels & feedstocks – paving the way to a more sustainable future. What is Vopak's strategy on battery energy storage? As part of our Accelerate strategic pilar, Vopak does focus on Battery Energy Storage (BES): Storage of electrical energy in assets that charge from- and discharge to the electricity grid (power-to-power). Vopak is developing assets with a discharge duration at full capacity of up to 4 hours using lithium ion battery technology (Short Duration Energy Storage), as well as assets with a discharge duration at full capacity of 8 hours or more (Long Duration Energy Storage - LDES) for which besides lithium ion also other technologies are used (e.g. flow batteries, compressed- or liquid air energy storage, etc). Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 449 businesses audited.
Royal Vopak has 10.2 points less BS than the average for Logistics, Transport & Shipping.
Logistics, Transport & Shipping BS: Royal Vopak (vopak.com)
Royal Vopak is a substantive industrial entity currently hampered by a ‘ghost-town’ homepage implementation where data placeholders replace proof. While the brand messaging leans into standard energy-transition clichés, the sub-page content is forensic, technically grounded, and highly specific. It is an authoritative site that currently presents as technically unfinished due to the zeroed-out performance metrics.
Immediately populate the ‘Vopak at a Glance’ section with real-world statistics to replace the ‘0’ placeholders. Replace the fluff-heavy H1 ‘We help the worldflow forward’ with a concrete value statement like ‘Global Infrastructure for Liquid Bulk and New Energies’. Implement Organization and Location schema with sameAs links to official corporate and regulatory profiles. Add direct links to the terminal certifications mentioned on the Our Terminals page to provide an external proof path.
Royal Vopak is a precise match for the Logistics and Infrastructure industry, specifically focusing on the storage and handling of bulk liquids and gases. The content confirms this through technical terminology like ‘cbm capacity’, ‘independent ammonia terminal’, and ‘energy transition infrastructure’.
“The score of 35 is driven primarily by technical failures in Information Density (the '0' value stats) and the Trust Theatre flag for unverified reviews on sub-pages. The site scores very well in Semantic Coherence and proof density within its project pages, which prevents a higher BS rating. The Identity score was penalized for the lack of enterprise-grade Organization schema despite the 'Royal' brand claims.”
